Nexpro 20 For Flatulence

I have been prescribed Nexpro 20 for flatulence caused by wysolone and methotrexate, which I am taking for RA.
Yet I read everywhere that flatulence is a side effect of Nexpro.
I don't have acidity or upper digestive tract problems, mine are all in the lower regions – bloating and gas.

Can you advise?

Perhaps I should have been clearer – I am based in India and Wysolone is the Indian brand name for prednisone (US) or prednisolone (UK) – this is cortisone medication.. Folitrax is the Indian brand name for methotrexate.

if Nexpro is designed to cure flatulence, how on earth can flatulence be a side effect? Yet I read on websites that is is listed as one
Anyone any insight into this?

There are some cases where gas and bloating can be caused by excess stomach acid, so in a way using a medication like this for it makes sense.

But yes, you're right it can actually cause it as a side effect.

The main question, however, is have you tried it yet?

Not everyone experiences all the side effects that a medication may cause and proper treatment is really going to depend on what's causing your flatulence problem.

Since you are on the Prednisone, it is a good guess to think it may be caused by excess stomach acid, since these steroid class medications are well known to cause it.
