THIS A VERY DANGEROUS DRUG . LOOK UNDER CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS FOR NEURONTIN ## Neurontin , like any drug, may have bad side effects for some people. Some drugs more than others. It is a life-saver for me. Your blanket statement is irresponsible. How about if I said all cars should be banned - they kill people? ## Prescribed for Major Depression. I agree with Aardvark. My wife started taking neurontin last week for nerve pain in her back and legs the Dr told her nothing about the side effects and the pharmacy gave her a blanck piece of paper so she didnt know about the side affects. when she wasnt working she was taking hydrocodone and valium for the pain she wrecked her car at work because of the side affects, what can she do? ## I like to read all information about any drug and it's side effects before taking it. i would like to make sure there is nothing in this i'm allergic to before taking this med. ## The active ingredient in Neurontin is Gabapentin, this is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help wtih certain types of nerve pain. Side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness and dizziness. As to any inactive ingredients, they can vary by manufacturer, so I can't tell you anything about those, without knowing who manufactured the ones you have. Is your doctor and pharmacy aware of your allergies?

Just been prescribed neuronton and want all side effects before I fill prescriptiion. This was prescribed for spinal stenosis pain. Joan M. Wood ## Common side effects while taking Neurontin (active ingredient Gabapentin) are: dizziness, drowsiness, and peripheral edema (swelling of extremities); these mainly occur at higher doses, in the elderly. Also, children 3-12 years of age were observed to be susceptible to mild-to-moderate mood swings, hostility, concentration problems, and hyperactivity. Adams is printed on yellow side and 1200 on the white side. It is about 1/2 inch long in a semi-oval shape and about a quarter of inch thick. I think it might be neurontin, but not sure. We do need neurontin, but if this can't be identified I shall discard. Thanks. ## I found a pill with similar markings it has ADAMS on one side and 1200 on the other. The only difference is the adams side is more green than yellow. Click on the link to view the pill... If this is your pill, it's Humibid main ingredient is Guaifenesin. how long does Neuratin stay in your system and will it show up on most drug test ## Neurontin is metabolixed very quickly by the kidneys and clears the body rapidly -- just a few hours (google it info is easy to find on exact numbers), thus rather frequent dosing. It is not a narcotic, nor a controlled substance, and thus is not commonly tested for. ## Since this is commonly prescribed for pain, many people think it is some type of pain medication, but it isn't and will not show up on standard drug tests.

I had been taking Neurontin for numerous years with other medications. Neurontin was prescribed for me to help major depression ONLY. This medicine was added to my other medications to boost the other. I began falling and tripping etc. I went through numerous tests to see what the problem was. It took over 6 months to find out I was over medicated. Neurontin is for seizures. There was a class action suit on this. Apparently the sales people were telling the doctors it could help with other conditions. The FDA only approved it for seizures. I was weaned off of it and some other ones and now do not fall etc. ## bingo! both lyrica and neurontin did that to me. I have been on Neurontin for about 3 months but over the last couple of weeks I have been getting cramps in my legs like never before. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue with it. it might not even be from it but i don't know why all of a sudden I start getting cramps that bad.

In 2003, I was given Neurotin to use for a period of six months. Shortly after starting taking the drug, I developed a cold/flu symptom. I had a terrible running nose and the nose was always blocked. I was breathing through the mouth. Now, even after completing the dose over the six months period, the cold/flu is still persisting. It is almost four years now. My nose is always running, sometimes I finished a roll of tissue paper in a day. The nose is always stuffy and blocked, forcing to breath through the mouth. I also devloped constipation symptom. I persistently pass gas through the mouth, an average of once every one and half minutes. Is thier any known problems with taking neurontin when you have a heart issue like tendency to Supraventricular tachacardia or irregular heart rythms? ## There is nothing listed in the monographs warning about such, but you should consult with your doctor to be certain and discuss your concerns.

I was told that this drug has been found to cause a weakness in the voice of some who have taken it. My wife is having that kind of problem. Has anyone else had this happen? ## I have never heard of this, not even when I was taking it, nor in the full prescribing info that is available. I do know it can cause throat tightening, which can cause that, and in the case it can be dangerous and she should talk to her doctor about it.
