New Pain Killer Opana (Page 3)

Updated

I was just prescribed this medicine and do not feel very comfortable taking it. I would like to know if any one has tried this drug and how did it work. I was previously on oxycontin and the Dr. just changed me to this. Also i am allergic to mophine, alot of people have told me including the doctors that i work for that i should not take this due to my allergy. I have not filled the prescription and the Dr. that prescribed it has not called me back yet. Please give me any answers from anyone

Taking naloxone alone won't put you into withdrawal. Only when you take Suboxone, BUPRENORPHINE and NALOXONE, will you go in to precipitated w/d, which is much much worse than regular w/d. The naloxone is the chemical of the two that will cause you to become sick. When taking Subutex, ONLY BUPRENORPHINE, your fine to take a Subutex before all opiates are out of your system with out going into w/d. It is a miracle, I much prefer subtext to Suboxone for this reason when I am trying to get of of my pk's. Works like a miracle, 3 days and I'm fine. It is true, however, that once you ingest the subutex, or suboxone, that any opiate to enter your system afterwards will not do any good as your receptors are being blocked. You would have to take crazy amounts to break through the threshold, but why anyone would try would be beyond me. I don't understand why people take these two medications together, however I know people that do on a daily basis and are fine, for now. They will simply cancel each other out though, if you are going to take subs, at least take them for the right reason, GET CLEAN PEOPLE, pain killers will never allow you to succeed in life, they will only continue to hold you back and if you don't believe it take a look at your life since you started them. Almost ruined my life for a little bit of powder, its just not worth it, or the thousands+ you spend on your addiction.

I just posted a detailed description of my experience. It destroyed my stomach and did not work "the rumors are true about the REFORMULATED Opana for a few"

Please read and respond, I don't know how long it takes to post

Really now? Because it's deadly (if taken incorrectly) you think it should not be given to people who need pain relief? Are you crazy or just stupid? Drain cleaner is deadly also if taken orally, lots of pills are deadly if taken incorrectly, alcohol can be deadly if abused, even vitamins can be! So hey, let's stop the manufacturer of all these deadly substances so stupid people won't overdose??? Sorry for this post, but I was just floored when I read it.

I take Opana ER and IR to get the proper dosage but can't find a pharmacy in Wilmington DE that can fill my new prescriptions. This is absurd. I haven't had any drug-related problems and have been scripted with this med after taking Methadone for 6 years for chronic pain. Now I'm in a pickle - can't fill script and running out with nowhere to fill the Rx.

The best person I have found to answer my questions about my medication is my PHARMACIST,,,,they know even more about the medications than the doctors do because they have more education on the subject,,,thats all they do,,,medications. And they can tell you if an herb or vitamin or anything else natural will be harmfull to you if you take it with the meds you are on. My pharmacy handles ALL my meds,,that's the best way. They also looked up the best insurance for me to get in ref to Medicare Part D. They saved me alot of headache and money as the plan I was on increased their monthly fee and co pay,,,Guess why? Omanacare! It has a clause that prevents drug companies from increasing charges more than 3% after the first year or so. So the drug companies decided to get their pound of flesh now and went sky high on many drug prices,,,,not my opinion,,,it was on my local news. Now we have one more reason to strongly dislike Obama and his politics!!! Like there wasn't enough reasons already!

Sounds like your having terrible rebound pain. A Dr. Put me on Methadone 60 mg a day for my Lupus pain and pain from a broken back. I was on it for 6 yrs. titrated down to 5 mgs. About 5mo. ago The last 5mg had been a nightmare. New pain Dr. put me on Opana 5mg ER twice a day. What a joke...on me. I went into severe withdrawals for 10days. My. Rebound pain was 10+. It was excruciating. I was finally admitted to the CD Dept and put on Subutex. I feel I have gotten the Methadone out of my system but have had bad side affects from the Subutex. I'm so dizzy I can't drive much less walk and I have very bad nausea. I'm grateful for the CD Dr for getting me off the methadone. Indeed to get off the Subutex ASAP to get on my life. I'm allergic to Morphine and believe this has something to do with it. I'm 62 yrs old.Be strong and stand up to your Dr. Call him until he calls you back or change Drs. I've seen a bunch of stubborn Drs in my time who won't think "out of the box." My addiction was intentional but I have one. I never want to have anything to do with these drugs again.
