My Pain Dr. Just Put Me On Methadone But Can't Find Any Pahrmacy To Fill It Any Ideas Or Suggestions?

My Pain Med Doctor Just Changed my pain med.From Nucynta And Put Me On Methadone 10mg #180. Problem Is I Can Not Find a pharmacy in this area that will fill it. I was gettting Nucynta from one pharmacy but they will not fill the methadone because they say I need to be on a time released narcotic as well as the methadone and he would not fill it as written. Any Suggestions? I live in North Port Florida.

I'm trying to make sense of what your pharmacist told you about having to take an additional narcotic while on Methadone, when part of the purpose of Methadone use is to help one safely get off a narcotic drug. Sounds to me like he's not being completely honest with you.

In any case, have you considered opting for an online pharmacy that can ship you your meds? If so, I would recommend checking with sites such as PharmacyChecker, as they only list certified (reputable) online pharmacies.

Hey Thanks so much for the info. Yes I agree the more people I talk to I believe that he was a bit confused. I spoke with another pharmacist today and told him what the other had said and what he told me was that it's a bit confusing. Supposedly you are supposed to be on one time released narcotic along with another one for the break through pain. He said that Methadone is a long lasting narcotic and should be considered as a time released one. There are no time released versions of Methadone. He told me that he could have filled it for me but he just ran out and because of the fact that their supplier is out of town and just got shut down by the DEA so they are waiting to get another supplier. So that is what I found out today. I will continue my search tommorw and now thanks to you will look online to see what I can find. Thank you again.

Call the doctor who wrote and ask him! He must have written this med before. Tell him what Pharmasist told you.

Ya take the script back and tell your doctor that you want nothing to do with Methadone, it's a living hell to get off of. Be very careful with the Methadone. I was dope-sick and didn't sleep for a solid year or more, no bulls***.
