She may be allergic to opiates period, I am not a doctor, but I can tell you what my doctor gave me that made me able to tolerate opiates..There was a medication way back in the 1960's until the usless vicodin became popular..It was called synalgos DC and it consisted of dihydrocodeine (Sythetic codeine) aspirin, and promethazine to take away the allergic reaction of the opiate..It's not very popular anymore because of vicodin, but you can get it by having it compounded (Walgreens compounds medications) like I said I can't give you advice, but I can share my experience with you so you can talk to the doctor and see what he/she says..BTW, and this is only my opinion, tramadol is listed as a non narcotic, but read the horror stories on the net about people who become addicted very quickly, my husband took them for 10 days and he went through major withdrawls...As for the suboxone, that medication makes me very ill also..Good luck and keep us posted

The only warning between using Gabapentin and Suboxone together stems from the fact that they can both cause central nervous system depression, so the doctor does have to carefully adjust the dosages. She should also know to watch for signs of it, such as extreme drowsiness, low blood pressure, low respiratory rate and low pulse rate.

And Pat, if you look at the latest information on Tramadol, you'll see that the FDA has, once again, changed their minds on its classification and have moved it to the opiate/narcotic category.

I haven't read the article yet, but I for one am grateful that the FDA has changed their minds and put it back on the list of the opiate/narcotic catagory..Thanks for posting the link and I am going to read it right now!!

Thanks again
