I was wondering if anyone is taking Metoprolol and CoQ10 together and if your blood pressure dropped too low? I want to start taking CoQ10 but afraid my BP will drop too low. I see there are different doses, 50ml, 100ml, and 200ml. I was thinking of starting out small and taking 50ml to see how my body adjusts. Any information will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance ## Hello, Rich! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between them, but you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure. What are you usual blood pressure readings? ## Prob between 110/70 to 120/80. Pulse is usually between 55-60 BPM. My doc recommended I ask a pharmacist. Go figure. Lol. I did so and they said I can take it but be aware of any symptoms like dizziness, fa...

I could not sleep the last two nights and wonder if there is a sleep aid safe to take with the metoprolol er succinate that I have been taking in the morning and evening, 25 mg pills. Been taking these b/p pills for months now. ## Hello, Peg! How are you? The main problem with them is that most sleep aids, such as Tylenol PM, Unisom and etc. use antihistamines, which may not always be safe for someone that has high blood pressure, because they can cause further elevations, according to the FDA. Thus, you should not take them, unless your doctor specifies that it is safe for you to do so. There may also be an issue if someone is overweight, since they may cause more weight gain. I have high blood pressure, as well, and suffered full congestive heart failure several years ago, and given t...

I take 25mg of metoprolol tartrate twice a day. I had already taken my usual dose in the am but for my evening dose accidentally took a double dose. Should I be worried? ## Hello, Glostixx! How are you? Did you suffer any adverse effects? That's not a dangerous dose to take, unless your blood pressure and heart rate is already low. But it could cause you to experience more side effects than normal, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. It would be best to inform your doctor to be safe. ## I usually take 100 mg of Metoprolol succinate twice a day; 1 in the morning and one in the evening... I was on the phone and got sidetracked and forgot I had taken one and then took another. Is this dangerous? ## I think I may have taken two 50 mg m...

I did this about three times in a row last week. OOPS. But I'm still here and don't feel any side effects. I will be more careful in the future. Just thought I'd post this. ## i switched my metoprolol by mylan and my lisinopril by mylan to metoprolol by greenstone and my lisinopril by sandoz because it was cheaper but it sent me to the hospital. once arriving at the hospital they took my blood and said that i had a heart attack.. it was scary because i didnt feel right at all after i started takeing the generic forms. now im paying more for mylan but i feel as good as i ...

I originally had a skipping heart beat which was tested and I was found to have no heart disease. Doctor put me on Metopropol succ er 25 mg tablets once a day to lower blood pressure. I had been taking for about eight(8) months with daily periods of skipping heart beat. My pulse rate had dropped from 74 to 64 times a minute and blood pressure was probably 122/72. When I got the last months supplies of tablets they had what looks like w/b on one side. I do not know what was on previous tablets. All of a sudden my heart is not skipping a beat anymore. Is it possible that the result is due to a change in manufacturer of the pill or is it possibly just a chance occurence? I have also cut back on drinking wine and caffein use. Thank you. ## Is that the complete markings on them? Can you plea...

I started Metoprolol a couple weeks back. It wasn’t completely doing what I needed so my doc doubled it to 50 mgs about 5 days ago. Last night my feet were so swollen. Now I’m scared and I can’t reach my doctor due to this snow here. I don’t know if I should completely stop or take it down to 25 mgs? Help? Anyone? ## That can be a side effect of this medication, in some people that take it, according to FDA reports. It may also cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, increased urination, and hypotension. It would be best not to change your dosage, without a physician's approval. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? ## I’m still on metoprolol. My doc doesn’t think that is why my feet, ank...

I am experiencing symptoms similar to those on a bad smog day. I smell what seems to be strong exhaust; my eyes burn/tear, my throat gets scratchy, and my lungs feel irritated. I took my car into the shop and there is no exhaust leak. I notice the smell at first in my car but can now sometimes experience the odor in my home. Does this drug loose its effectiveness if it is split in half like 90 days before taking it? Also will taking tums (2 - 750 mg tablets) with this drug reduce its effectiveness? ## This is a time released formulation of Metoprolol, so it needs to be taken whole, the tablets should not be cut or broken, because that could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once. If you have a tablet that's been cut or broken, you should discard it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. And yes, Tums will reduce it's efficacy, so if you need an antacid you should look for an alternative. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi Mom... I also take 100mg of Metoprolol ER. what is the shelf life for Metoprolol ER 100mg ## Hello, Based on my research, U.S. prescription medications are required to have a mandatory expiration date of 1 year from the date the prescription is filled. After a year is up, the medication should still be safe but it will start to lose its potency and can no longer be as effective. However, there are some medications that can become dangerous after they expire. That being said, it's best to not take any medication after its expiration date. The medication might have a label that explains how/where it should be stored, but if not, I would ask the pharmacist. It's usually best to keep medications in a cool dark place. I hope this info helps! ## That's a STUPID answer - "However, there are some medications that can bec...

i am out of my blood pressure med can i takelisinopril hctz ## Although these two medications are both used for high blood pressure, there's really no telling whether or not you'll experience the same benefits from Lisinopril or even react favorably to it, since everyone responds differently these drugs. Not to say it wont work, but it's always good to have backup options. There are many natural alternatives for Blood Pressure control that in my opinion can be just as effective as prescription medication if taken seriously. I personally had severe hypertension around 150/90, but was able to control it by controlling my eating habits and exercising. What works for me may not work for everyone, but my initial advice is to focus on eating whole foods that have little to no sodi...
