Picked up prescription at pharmacy with these numbers on blue round pill. Is supposed to be metoprolol but any info I find on computer says amlopidine. ## C75 is Amlodipine 5 mg and Olmesartan 40 mg, which is used to treat high blood pressure. Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## It is also being reported that the light blue pill with C 75 is Meoprolol. There's been a lot of confusion lately with manufacturers discontinuing certain products, releasing new versions, etc. So if anybody knows the specific manufacturer of this pill it would be easier to verify it with them.

I have been taking one Metoprolol XL 50MG (listed as a substitute for Toprol XL 50 MG TAB) tablet once a day. My doctor tells me it is now unavailable and he must prescribe an alternative. So I just received my new prescription that reads Metoprolol 50 MG TAB (substituted for Lopressor 50MG TABLET). My instructions are to take one tablet twice daily. Isn't this twice the dose I was taking? ## What you need to do is cut your 50 mg tabs in half and take 25 mg twice a day, or you will be getting double the dosage which could be very dangerouse. The Metoprolol ER 50 mg is an extended release tablet which basically gives you 25 mg early on and 25 mg later in the day. ## Actually it DOES NOT release half earlier in the day and half later, that is NOT how they work, the medication is slowl...

If a 20 months old kid takes by mistake an Apo Metoprolol 25 mgs pill, what are the side effects? ## Common side effects include dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, tiredness, diarrhea, unusual dreams, ataxia, trouble sleeping, and vision problems. It may also reduce blood flow to the hands and feet, causing them to feel numb and cold; smoking may worsen this effect. I would double check with your physician about this situation. Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## Thank you very much Crystal for the answer (Ref. Apo Metoprolol 25 mgs).

I have been on Metoprolol by Parr for 5 years. I recently moved and had to fill my prescription at CVS. It was a different shaped pill so I called them. All they said that it was made by Ethex instead of by Parr and that it was the same pill that I was taking. HOWEVER, after taking 3 pills, I got up in the middle of the night, got out of bed and fainted. I called CVS the following morning and they said that it definitely could be the Ethex manufacturer because it has different fillers than the one made by Parr. My blood pressure was 90 over 60. I then went onto the Internet and saw that some of the pharmacies have taken Ethex drugs off their shelves. They weren't removed by the FDA. Metoprolol was one of the drugs. Why in heavens name didn't anyone contact the FDA to tell them t...

I been taking TOPAL XL extended relese 200mg once a day. How do I take Metoprolol which is not extended release 200 mg? Do i cut each pill in half or should I use 100 mg twice a day?At one time I was taking TOPAL XL 100 mg twice a day until the drug Co would not fill the order for the 100 mg anymore. Now they are sending me 200 mg of Metoprolol. ## Take it the same, it may not be clearly marked as such, but it is still a time released version. ## I take 100 mg. twice a day, 12 hours apart. Total 200 mg. It works very well for me. If I forget one, I know it in a few hours by the way I feel. My bp is always low and my pulse never goes above 60.

My doctor said to see him in a month. Does this sound like a proper treatment plan?

I'm wondering if a possible side effect of metoprolol was thinning of the skin?? i have been having major problems with thinning skin lately and just trying to rule out all the medications i'm on. my skin is very fragile and cuts easily. i'm only 26 years old so it's not because i'm elderly. my doctor wasn't able to call me back before the weekend so figured i'd see what other people thought of this. thanks everyone who replies! ## I have been taking METPROLOL SUCC ER since 2006 and I am a 21 year old female and I have not experienced that problem. ## This can be a serious side effect, I suggest you speak to your doctor, they will be best able to rule the medication in or out as a cause and provide you with a solution. ## Today I have been checked by a cardio...
