i trying to find a doc that prescribes methadone in northern nj..if anyone can help me and tell me where one is i would really appreciate it... ## If you are under treatment for addiction, a private doctor is not allowed to prescribe it for that. There are very strict federal laws governing the use of Methadone for addiction and they require that it be done in a clinical setting, with a limited number of take home doses. Are there any other comments or questions?

Have you tried looking into closer treatment options? Perhaps checking to see if there is a Suboxone clinic in your area?

i had recently had a blood test and my test came bak posotive for methodone but i take roxycodone /flexiral and inhaler ## It was probably due to the quality of the test and the fact that you were taking Roxicodone. On the cheaper, non-certified tests, one narcotic causing a false positive for another can occur anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time. Have you discussed it with your doctor?

what is a safe dose for a man who wieghs 180lbs? My husband bought some colodopine on the street and now hes sleeping and i cant wake him up. hey just wondering if anyone would kno what direction to send me! ..a fried of mine his brother was on the methadone program 50 mls. the drug store screwed up made it to strong and gave him 80 some mills.. which ended up killing him. he had no other drugs in his system at the time and this was the reason for his death. now there was a lenghty battle and the family recieved 25,000 for his death which i think it ridiculous. they settled because they couldnt bear to have it drug out any longer. now what im wondring is what can be done for justice to be served now to get it reopen and get these 2 indiviuals who were in the wrong for wrongful distribution held responsible for their actions. I am 60 yrs old have been in methadone clinic but have buisness trips where I'm gone 3-5 days or 2 weeks to China Need perscription for methadone while away. Any help? ## Have you tried asking them if they can make any suggestions on a doctor you could see? Methadone can be prescribed for home use, in some states, though I am not sure what the laws are in NJ. Even doing a search for clinics there doesn't really help, because even if they can, we have no way of knowing if they will prescribe it that way. Have you spoken to a regular doctor about it?

I have mutable back problems. They want to do big time surgery on me. I want to stay on methadone 10 mg. till I'm ready to do surgery, not when they tell me to do it. I need a Dr. to let me stay as I am till the time comes I'm ready to do this surgery! ## Have you consulted other doctors and gotten a second opinion? It is unusual for a doctor to stop someone's pain medications, before major surgery to treat such a condition. What did they say was the reason they wanted you to stop taking it?

I have been tking methadone for many years, recently my Dr. ordered a drug urine test. I am wondering if she is the one prescribing the methadone, why is she ordering a drug test? ## She may want to just check and make sure that you are taking the medication, as prescribed and not abusing it or selling it. It is very common for doctors to do this. If you are prescribed a certain amount, at a certain dosing interval, the levels in your urine should fall within a certain range. Anything outside of that range can alert them to a potential problem.
