I recently was on about five months of 20mg of Mehadone to help me get off a serious eight year percocet habit. I tapered down to five mgs..and have stopped for two weeks totally. I feel absolutely horrible. How long might it take to adjust to this stopping? If it's just the one dose, then I believe Art is spot on, it's not going to turn into a dangerous substance, just because it got mixed into coke. If it's multiple doses, then you can't do that, because you'd be getting too much at once and, if that's the case, you'll need to contact your doctor or clinic. The first is if you're calling new doctors and asking them if they'll prescribe it, they will view that as drug seeking behavior and, in most cases, they won't even let you get in the door. I was at 90 mg of meth and goin to clinic everyday and sweating/hiding it from family/friends for two years. My advice, get some benzos legally to help with the withdrwl. Mixing them can be dangerous:so don't! Go cold turkey IT DOES NOT LAST LONG. Trust me 3 days physically; sweating,leg cramps, etc but I PROMISE after day 3 or 4 it is all MENTAL! Why are Pain Management physicians so quick to prescribe Methadone, over any other narcotic, if they already know beforehand just how incredibly hard it will be to get off it--if ever? Do they have a hidden agenda? I will greatly appreciate any and all responses! I am taking 60mg of methadone a day for pain management, given to me by a rheumatologist in Pa. We are moving to NJ. Will it be hard to find a doctor in NJ that will prescribe it for me there? I have been on it for about 6 years. I also take Percocet 10/325 for breakthrough pain. ## I am not sure how hard or easy it will be to find someone, some doctors are more understanding and liberal than others. How much liquid methadone can i give to my 80 lb dog by mouth? I know that vets have given dogs methadone for pain but I just don't understand when they say you give them 0.1- 0.5 ml per kg.... I’ve really been struggling when my methadone dose went from 100 mg to 40mg. Barely does anything except I’m not violently ill. I've been going to the clinic now for a little over a month and my current dose is 100mg a day. I'm going up another ten tomorrow. I have had no luck with getting to a dose that works all day. I hear people always saying how great it works and how it fixes everything but thats not the story for me. I go in around 8am and from 9-4 I do ok I guess I'm somewhat happy and upbeat able to deal with life and want to be a productive member of society but mid afternoon comes around and everything seems to turn to s*** I start becoming kept to myself and just depressed. I'd like to know how much stronger in milligrams the difference is between 30 mg of Methadone and 30 mg of Oxycodone? Of course, the Methadone always worked better and the Oxycodone, same dosage, is not nearly as strong. How does one figure that out? ## Each 30mgs of Oxycodone is equivalent to approximately 6mgs of Methadone, so yes, the Methadone is much stronger. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Hi, I'm currently taking 120mg of methadone which i take 40mg every 8 hours and I've been in the hospital for over 3 months due to a blood infection that has left me almost unable to walk. Now I would have to go to a methadone clinic everyday in order to dose which is impossible with me being in a wheel chair right now. Are Methadone and Methadose the same thing? I am on Methadone right now, and I am tired of going to a clinic everyday. Can a doctor prescribe me Methadose once a month? Thanks ## Stay clean and in 1 year you'll be going 1 or 2 x week ## Methadose is the liquid form of methadone and in my state (OH) it's what is given at the clinics. You would have to check your local laws but generaly speaking methadone maintenance is only done at a federaly regulated clinic and not in a Dr office. Have you considered Suboxone? I have been taking 80 mg of methadone for the past 6 months. I had 3 dirty ua's and they decided to kick me out of the program. When I asked them if they were going to medically detox me, they refused to do so. I know that this is illegal.
