Hi, I was taking 40-100 mg of Percocet a day- I weaned off and took about 10-40 mg of hydrocodone a day. I was feeling sick and got 10 mg methadone pills. I took 20 mg the first night-I did get a euphoric feeling and woke up with a terrible headache. I took 15 mg of methadone last night to continue taper going down to 1 10 mg of methadone tonight and 5 mg tomorrow, and hoping I won't feel withdrawal but my head hurts so bad-it feels as if it is going to combust. I can barely text this. Am I going to feel worse or better? My body aches all over as well. Did I overdose myself? Is this normal??? ## Hi DMM, you may be going through some withdrawals with some of your symptoms. It's difficult to detox yourself off opiates without medical intervention. The professionals know how much m...

Currently on 60 mg's of methadone. Just diagnosed with epilepsy. 60 mg was just fine prior to the new meds. Then I started the worst withdrawal symptoms. The dr. says that some people just take a while to get use to the new medication. The biggest and worst being Dilantin (300mg) morning and (300mg) at night. After 3 days of hell I paid for my own peak and trough. The trough was less than 20ng/ml. 4 hours the peak came in at less than 20ng/ml again. The doctors were absolutely baffled. They really only said all I can do is up my methadone which would defeat everything I have worked for. Any suggestions or does any of this make sense ## I am very sorry about what you're going through, but I can explain it for you… Dilantin contains the active ingredient Phenytoin and it dec...

I have been on methadone for several years. It seems everyone is carrying the round white tabs. These fall apart if you try to cut them which I did as I try to limit amounts. I am new to the area so I need a pharmacy that still carries the original 10mg white oblong methadone. there does seem to be a difference in the affectiveness and side affects too ## Hello, Kileen! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of pharmacies that carry a medication from any given manufacturer. Have you tried getting an actual pill cutter? That should help prevent them from crumbling. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## yes I use a brand new pill cutter and it ...

Hi. I live in Michigan. I've been on methadone for about twelve years, clean for about nine years. I've been at my current clinic for seven years. I'm on biweekly take homes, but I could have monthly any time I choose to switch. My UA has been clean those seven years. Lately I've been sick sooner. I have not taken any drugs, just my met. The last time I mentioned raising my dose I was told that my take homes would be taken away because if you raise your dose it shows you are not stable. Is this something a clinic can do? I haven't found much literature on this topic and I know that federal and state regs are different. Any legitimate info or direction would be appreciated. Thank you! ## They are all under certain federal regulations, regardless of what state they are...

Help me find a doctor in st.clair or Macomb county to prescribe methadone. I can not take suboxen, hate it, but no methadone clinics by me ## Hi Peachy! If you need methadone for addiction issues you will have to go to a clinic. It's against the law for doctors to prescribe methadone to patients who have addictions. They can only prescibe it for pain. If you can't take suboxone, ask your doctor about subutex. It has buprenorphine in it but not naloxone.

My son has chronic pain in his Rt.shoulder. Methodone 10mg. three x a day was percribed for him. His doctor Rudolph J. Myers retired, and now he's in need to find an another Physician who will continue to percribed the same medication for him. He lives in Raleigh N.C. ## Hello, Mike! How are you and your son? Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if such a medication is required on a long-term ongoing basis for the management of chronic pain, he'll need to see a pain management specialist. A PCP can no longer prescribe like that. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, there is no listing of doctors that I can refer to f...

But I also take 10 mg of methadone wat would happen if I mix saraquell with 10 mg of methadone ? ## Hello, Tere! How are you? No, Methadone and Seroquel should not be mixed, they tend to increase the toxicity of one another, which could be very dangerous. Is there anything else I can help with?

After 10+'years new Dr. stopped methadone and break thru Meds. for no reason, nor would give me one. Thankfully I try to take as little as needed. So I still didn't have a great time withdrawing, not fun at all. At 57 with a rare autoimmune disease that causes blood clots+ had first stroke at 36. Second at 50. Plus A-Fib. and many other related issues. No suggestions,no referral and honestly took anything other than he prescribed. So he has blacklisted me in two states, and I truly don't know why. And when I asked, he yelled one more word and I'll have you throw out. So now Constance pain, feel totally lost and WHAT about Quality of Life. And do no harm. Just want a true honest doctor, that also believes in Quality of a human beings life. Live in NH banned and also MA. Do...

Ive been taking methadone since 2005 for chronic pain. Ive recently developed 2 other painful health conditions that cause great pain however my current doctor refuses to prescribe what ive been prescribed before. He will give me 90 pills a month sometimes 45 depends on his mood. Im not even getting adequate pain relief as i was being prescrbed 120 before. Had to change doctors cuz of insurance purposes. I dont know what to do. He also has let me walk around for the last 2 yrs with chronically torn liagaments in my right and left ankle. I begged for a mri and finally got one after 2 yrs showing i have severe damage some liagaments are no longer visible. Yet he thinks im lying about being in pain. Is this legal? im moving in 30days and I need to guest dose first in washington state for 2 weeks and then me and my daughter will be moving again to hawaii and I need to know can I guest dose there until I transfer there? How long will it take for trandfer to go through? ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you? This is actually going to be up to the individual clinics, though it really shouldn't take long for them to receive your records and do the transfer. However, I would suggest asking those in charge at your clinic, I am sure they'll be able to give you a better idea of the time frame. I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check this information to be certain. I need some suggestions about my medications? I think the doctor is really low dosing me in comparison to my pain. I would like to know if others agree and what has worked for you. I have chronic back pain and was taking 80mg of methadone. Had Disc Surgery in the neck and turned out fine however the lower is causing problems and now for some reason I have developed swollen feet and ankles which is from what the doctors believe right now a disease like MS. Anyway the pain in my feet from the swelling is so bad, horrible, terrible I can barley walk. Can not work. Scream a lot in the middle of a step and in my sleep. When I can sleep. no more then 2 hours or less at a time or at the entire night. i have tried to explain how bad the pain is to my pain specialist who has seen the extreme cha...

Methadone seems to reach every bit of my pain compared to morphine or oxycontin I really need a Dr. who will work with me. I'm 46 years old and feel much older, please get back to me asap. I have medicare and access insurance, Thank You. ## Hello, Dennis! How are you? Any doctor can prescribe Methadone for pain, but most are very reluctant due to the fact that it is so highly addictive. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, having them refer you to someone would be the quickest and easiest way to get the help you need. Does anyone know of a good doctor in that area? ## There is a pain clinic in mercy hospital ...

If someone was taking 8mg suboxene 1x a day for 8 years, could they take about 30 milligrams of liquid methadone for 30 days to detox from suboxene and have no withdrawals/side effects. Please advise asap. ## Hi Gene! Before you start the methadone you must be in withdrawals. Are you going through a clinic or on your own? Since you've been on suboxone for awhile, it may take longer than 30 days to get clean. Methadone in it self is addictive too. If you are going to do this in a month you will probably still go through withdrawals for awhile. Again, being you were on suboxone for some time. Let us know how you are doing.
