Hello guys I am on 13mg of methadone and I take it every day at 9am. My question is could I have a few drinks say about 8PM? Like 3 bottles of beers if I took it slow ? Does anyone else drink on methadone? Obviously i am on a low dose but just wanted some advice. Hello, I've been on methadone for 6 yrs.. Using a clinic in town. I pay close to 500$ a month but I have insurance.. I would like to find a private dr that takes bcbs and stop the clinic.. My husband is tired of paying for it and doesn't realize that stopping cold turkey isn't an option... I've been going to the same methadone clinic for 6 years. I'm on a low dose of 44mg a day and am a model patient. For me, methadone was the answer. It gave me a life. I was living a terrible life before that. I had an awful childhood, started doing drugs as a teenager, eventually got hooked on opiates and worked my way up the ladder from vicoden all the way to H. I've been going to the same methadone clinic for years now and have all my take-homes ( i pick-up once a week). For the past 2 weeks my doses have tasted VERY different! Also, I've been having symptoms such as, headache, dizziness, fatigue, skin issues, and general malaise. So, I happen to know, from chatting w a nurse, that they use lysol disinfectant to clean the thermos dispensers ( 1 holding water, 1 holding cherry syrup) they use these to water-down or flavor your methadone dose. Well my take-homes have water added, from these dispensers, and now have the uncanny smell and yes taste of lysol... I was in a wreck in 2001 and it mangled the left side of my body. My left arm is most visible from the outside. I have records in order. I've had a great relationship with my 78yr old Dr until the last 3 months. I have been in Methadone 90mg/day + Valium 40mg 3Xs/day for over 16years. Okay so I have been reading all kinds of horror stories about methadone tapering, which to be honest scared the crap out of me. I was at about 85 mg of methadone a day for a nasty opiate addiction. I worked with my counselor and other out patient treatment programs to working on the underlying causes of addiction. When I felt that I was stable enough emotionally and had no more desire to IV I started to taper, VERY VERY SLOWLY!!! I went down 1 mg a week. and from everything I have read that is a very long taper and slower taper. My doctor worked with me assessing all aspects of my life, not just the physical w/d. I started treatment on methadone 1 year ago and it has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have my life back. I am have been to clinics in CA, NC, and now south carolina. Reno Nevada was pretty lax with take homes but now after transferring to sc with the same company I thought by transfering to same clinic in a different state I would keep take homes. Its the most important thing in my life to get take homes. I absolutely hate going in every day to dose. I just started going to the methadone clinic about two weeks ago when they did my intake they said my urine drug test was positive for Suboxone. I've never taken Suboxone in my life so I started at the clinic and reach my max dose which isn't holding me. And when I went in today I asked to make an appointment with the doctor to see if I can be raised they gave me another drug test And again it came up positive for Suboxone.
