Methadone And Involuntary Orgasms In Sleep

I have been on methadone since 2001 for sickle cell anemia. I never knew or heard of it and had I, I would of ran the other way which others I know did. Ever since I've been on it, I have orgasms in my sleep. They are not wet dreams cause a lot of times, sex is not involved or thought of while this occurs, but I try not to sleep or spend the night elsewhere cause I know not when I may have one. Even in the hospital, some nurses or nurses put in my chart that I masturbate in the hospital which isn't true but I can't control it. Has anyone else experienced this, or is this a known side effect?

I have never heard of that I have been on methadone up to 205 milligrams and now down to 150 trying to decrease it myself I can take a 150 milligram dose and make it last at least 3 days so I believe I'm making good progress but. To your question I have experienced the absolute opposite; I have no desire for sex, no libido. I don't even get horny, nothing at all. I have never heard of that bless your heart. I do agree if I knew what I know now about the methadone it's a racket. All they want is your money insurance doesn't pay for. It cost me $300 a month. I'm a 54 year old woman that was addicted to hydrocodone for 12 years taking 20 to 30 a day and as I realized going to the program that there were people that were more addicted than I thought I was but I knew I also was addicted, went to them for help and it's like almost impossible for them to drop me 5 milligrams. Now since I was honest with them telling them that I've been dosing down myself at home for over a month they want to cut my 150 milligrams totally in half and I don't think they can do that. They couldn't drop it before but five milligrams a week, what's really up? Any suggestions. Lost in Arkansas.

I've been on 115mg for almost 3 years now & i almost can never climax during sex (when i actually have a sex drive) but i have noticed that i will be in a dead sleep & not be dreaming or anything & wake right up with the feeling that I'm fixing to climax. & this has happened at least once a month. Before i started methadone i never ever did this. & just like you i don't even dream about sex, it just happens out of nowhere. I'm not sure about men... But with a woman it's rare, but it has happened to quite a few of us. Hope this helps some... To at least know your not the only one. Lol!
