What company makes these ASC 116 and when did they come out on the market?

I don't really know what's going on but since last month I've been feeling so sick nausous as hell my throat feels lick it has 2 bricks on it through out the whole day every day my eye lids feel stiff witch is akward and my mood has changed not to mention my pain is very very bad. I had reconstructive back surgery and have 3 rods and a bunch of screws and pins I've been taking methadone for over twelve years and this just started then I find so many ppl talking about the manufacion of MFG pills and noticed a lot of ppl are having the same symptoms. I'm very worried that I'm having a bad reaction to the pills and I tried taking this to a new pharmacy but its the same type of pills. please if you are a doctor orknow something bout this I wouldn't mind some advice.

Kevin you have to find a different pharmacy or ask your pharmacist to get another brand, fir me the w/d symptoms started about 3 days on the ASC 116. I went right back and the pharmacy got me the mallinkrodt brand. I was having diarrhea, pupil dilation larger. I knew right away it was the pills I googled and noticed many people had my problem.

Ascend labs not sure when they came out but are just showing up in my area in the last year.

Folks: What can we do about the ASC issue? Im tired of being told " tough crap, take what you get or do without " So far CVS has had Roxane brand and I have been feeling ok. But I feel so bad for others who have no choice or cant get a decent brand. Pharm techs- help us out..who can we contact about this without sounding like crybaby dopers???

Actually I Do NOT KNOW! Some fly by night drug company making the sorriest methadone on the market.I speak only from my personal experience of many years or should s a lifetime f fighting chronic pain. Stay away from it!

I don't think it is in anyone's head I have never taken these acs 116 always take either wafers 40mg each or the rectangles or the 54/142 and have never had a problem or problems but this ACS 142 gave me a *HEADACHE* from HELL. So there is definitely a difference. Mr. Or Mrs. Know it all!!!

Good news ......I was struggling with my back about 8 to 9 pain level, and my right knee that has been operated on 3x was like a 10 ......I was in so much pain .....I was not sleeping, I was irritable, my blood pressure was high, and I started getting migraine headaches that made me think I was dieing.........I found this site and a few others then started researching medicine, and federal standards ..I was so pissed that the federal government allows it to be declared the same medicine when each time they can be 10% different on active ingredient and 20% on inactive ....that is not the same medicine......and the saying it's a placebo effect, and it's all in your head......well stupid of course it's in my head that is how the medicine works the pain is still there always the brain just turns it off allowing me to have a life........so getting to m my point walgreens switched manufacturers after years...so I went and had a talk with cvs pharmacist who I was very impressed with - I told him everything he agreed to order malinkrodt medicine I have been back on that medicine for 4 days now and guess what back pain level is 3. Knee about a 4 to 5 that is manageable my friends. ...headaches gone, sleeping again check, and all around doing better getting 5 to 6 hours of relief from one pill......life is good again, keep up the good fight, you all are worth it....don't let the so called experts tell you, trust your body ...it is your GOD given right to feel better and to have QUALITY of life!!

Coyote, you saying CVS ordered Mallinkrodt for you? Wow! Good for you. I recently switched to CVS because I could get Roxane. I used Walgreens for over 25 yrs. but the ASC crap made me switch. I have to pick up meds at CVS this week. I will ask about Mallinktodt. Thanks for the info. Keep up the fight!

Amen! My pharmacist has labelled on my chart, mallinkrodt only, and he orders ahead of time. 25mg s day. Saved my life.

WELL SAID I AGREE WITH YOU 100% I WAS A COMPOUND PHARMACY TECHNOLOGY UNTIL A FEW YEARS BACK WHEN I WAS ASSAULTED AND BEATEN TO WITHIN AN INCH OF MY LIFE. I AM NOW DISABLED AND STRUGGLE WITH THE SAME PAIN YOU DO AND WHILE WORKING AS A COMPOUND TECH. I REALIZED THAT WHAT YOU SAID IS SO TRUE WE ADDED A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF ACTIVE INGREDIENT AND CERTAIN AMOUNT OF INACTIVE INGREDIENT BUT HEY GUESS WHAT THE AMOUNT YOU CAN BE OFF OF THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT IS FAR LESS THAN OF THE INACTIVE INGREDIENT. SO WITH THAT BEING SAID YOU COULD PUT MORE OF THE INACTIVE INGREDIENT IN THE PRESCRIPTION AND STILL CALL IT THE SAME. ITS BS IF YOU ASK ME. THE MANUFACTURER ARE JUST AS BAD AS THE STREET DEALERS WHO CUT THERE DRUGS WITH BABY LAXATIVEAND KEEP MORE OF THE GOOD STUFF TO MAKE A HIGHER PROFIT. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. ASC 116 methadone 10 milligram hydrochloride is by far the worst form of methadone I have ever received or taken in my life I would rather have any other brand on the other than this brand it gives me horrible headaches that pound for a long long long time and it does nothing for my pain it is so horrible that I believe it should be exempt

I agree with everyone on how horrific ASC is. What can we do about it? Where can complaints be sent to? We should start a petition or campaign to STOP manufacturing that brand. Med people out there...help us out with names, addresses and how to go about it. It should be on Tv like the bad meds commercial with a lawyer to contact. We need a legal suit against Ascend pharmaceuticals. This is one ridiculous medication. Period.

I went to so many different pharmacies seeking an answer. If I could even get someone to answer me without being treated like I was a drug seeking junkie was a miracle. Why do I have to feel embarrassed by these pharmaceutical techs. They work for us. If there wasn't a need there would not be work for them. Back to subject now, I still have had no luck getting my pharmacist to get me the medication that works best for me. Cost was their response. Well hell if it's a few dollars then I'll be glad to cover the cost. It would be worth it to me to not have to feel like I am also just below where I have been maintained for so many years.The effect is weaker and doesn't last as long controlling my pain. So therefore in order to not take more and run out I have to wake up in the middle of the night hurting. I have polio and several other complications from bone and musculoskeletal disorders so I'm thankful for the relief that's do get. Before methadone I just lived a very painful life so this medicine was like a new lease on life and I've never had to stray off and take more or add anything' else to control my pain until now. So after 15 years of controlled pain management with the same meds I know it's the new lab making mine. ASCEND!

I agree I've had to take methadone for several years now and these ASC's are the worst. I can not up the dose without the Dr.'s ok and hes a new dr. for me so I better not start off with issues so I wind up in pain and suffering. I doubt theirs anything we can do the pharmacy says there just as good so until the pharmacy's get better meds we will all suffer.

Does anyone know if on our scripts if the doctor writes Mallinkrodt only or Roxane only does the pharmacy have to order that med? When I worked in nursing home if an order was written DAW - dispense as written it had to be honored. As well as a brand name only-it had to be honored. I will pay extra if I can to a certain extent. ASC has to be gotten rid of. But we all know how it goes. We're all held hostage by pharmacies and money hogs. God help us all.

Yes ..I am so much better now, you are taught because of the stigma that goes with methadone as it is used to treat people with addiction that you to are an addict. Methadone works for other issues but it is first a pain medicine that works wonders for chronic pain. I always felt like I had to hide the fact that I used methadone to help me, I always felt that if I make to much of a fuss then I will be taken off of it, and my life of chronic pain will put me in mental, and physical hell. I am 42 years old and this medicine helps me have a life, no I can't play football, basketball, are run a marathon - but I can have a pain reduced life. I am no longer the shy quiet person that excepts that this is what you get, and be happy with it. You all know if you have chronic pain the doctors and the pharmacist are not the issue, it's the federal government that decides that there is a problem with drug abuse in this country so they make you go through so much bull crap to get the medicine you need. Who in the hell would put themselves through all this if they didn't have to. I have been in so much pain that I have thought about ending it all - just to make it stop. Then I had an epiphany in the obituary it would say prescription drug use was the problem here. Instead of the truth the monthly harassment, and expensive doctor visits, and the expensive monthly u/a's, and all the other expensive diagnostics to run you in the ground all just to get the medicine that saves your life- after doctor visits then the mistakes that happen at pharmacy - like switching company's who manufacturer medicine for profit. I decided my life is mine! I love life, and deserve not to live it in bed. There is something that works for me, and I will be damned if anyone else tells me how my body feels- are makes it hard on me if I have to be rude and make a butt of myself I will. No more Mr nice guy.

This is true they don't work as well...I take methadone in the liquid form.. I took some of these pills and they did not work I did feel like I was going through withdrawals on what should have been the same dose

I have taken every kind of methadone that they make. I have a really high dose(280)split because my peak and trough was really low. I went on vacation and had the ascend pills for 2 weeks and i had no problem whatsoever. What you should do is try not looking at what brand they are and just take them i didnt have any problems ingredients are the same in all forms I just compared them.

Just so people don't say I don't know pain, I was in a humvee in Iraq and 3 120mm mortars exploded under it and blew me 25 feet in the air broke my back my right arm and elbow and my left ankle knee and hip and I have taken all forms and I haven't had withdrawal symptoms at all.
