What company makes these ASC 116 and when did they come out on the market?

I agree 100%. Where is FDA when u need them? And how are these even allowed to be on the market as a 10mg methadone tablet? I thought to be labeled as 10mg methadone that it must contain 10mg of methadone. I have a very hard time believing that these asc 116 contain methadone at all. I feel no pain reilief whatsoever from these and would refuse to accept them if giving to me by any pharmacist. I prefer the m57 71 any day of the week

Well it is nice to know that I am not the only one to think that the asc116 methadone are not working like the other brands my wife thought i was crazy but I knew that there was a big difference in the i guessing the amount of narcotic

I've been on methadone for 12years and I believe the rectangel ones are the best by far now when I was on the liquid years ago it was great if you were looking for a high.

I am taking 10 mg asc116 and when I had my urinre check it showed no sign of opiods.

I started taking ASC 116 a few months ago. Had a urine check and there was no trace of opiods. No wonder I have been in so much pain!

Ascend is the worst methadone in creation and I've got 45 years of experience to allow me to honestly state this. They should be pulled from the shelves! NOW!

I've been on methadone for about 10 years and have taken probably every brand out there but I have got the ASC 116 twice and both times same effect ( not strong enough ) so it's not in your mind or your lying about how much you took or what you've eaten for the day. And I have heard this from everyone I know , they all say the same thing I do about this brand that they are weak.

Not exactly true, or else so many people would not notice differences in not only this medication but various others of different generic brands. Quality control may not be as competent from one laboratory as another, which leads to the precise dosage being as much as 10% higher or lower, generally lower. An example of this which can be researched is in the popular pain medications such as Oxycodone tablets. The Oxycodone and Roxycodone 15 mg. tablets have been found to not contain 15 mgs. of the active ingredient but actually contains 12 mgs. of Oxycodone, manufacturers of this particular pain reliever have confirmed this to be true. Also, the reaction to medications, especially medications such as opioid pain relievers may cause the patient to feel quite differently if switching brands, this is caused by the chemical structure of the drug, if the chemical structure varies only a small amount then the patient will feel differently than the same medication and dosage of the previous brand that the patient may have been taking for several months or years. I've noticed this firsthand with 2 different pain medications that I received from the pharmacy when they ran out of the usual brand I always received and substituted it with a generic. the 1st time I noticed this was when I had been taking 10 mg. methadone tablets made by Roxane laboratories and instead received the generic brand 'Dolophine" 10 mg. tablets. The Dolophine were a bit smaller in diameter and the feeling I felt after taking my normal prescribed dosage was very different psychologically.

The 2nd time I noticed a significant difference in another opioid pain reliever I had been prescribed for "break through" pain. I had always picked up 15 mg. Oxycodone tablets manufactured by Mallincrodt and the pharmacy was out of my usual brand one day and substituted a generic brand "Mylan." The Mylan tablets were larger and much stronger than the Mallincrodt. Ever since then I began asking for the Mylan brand and once they ran out of those I couldn't get them again at any pharmacy and the reason this began happening is because I wasn't the only person that noticed the difference, and as a result most pharmacy's refused to carry Mylan Oxycodone tablets because they viewed the sudden preference as "drug-seeking" behavior, forget the fact that everyone had a legitimate prescription and the Mylan brand was more effective for pain, many pharmacists, doctors, and of course law enforcement agencies didn't want the patient to have any say-so on the medications they received, and if they thought the preference was about "getting high" then society can't have that at all. I hope these stuffed shirt, so-called professionals never have an injury, or chronic pain condition that requires them to use and opioid pain medication to treat their pain and make it possible for the patient to function better in their daily lives because the medication is therapeutic for most who do suffer from a chronic, or terminal pain condition, because then they will understand what it's like to be discriminated against by the medical and law-enforcement community, and the personal and ignorant bias these types of people have that causes the already suffering individual patient to suffer even more.

Now to address the second part of the posts that indicated instant sickness allegedly experienced from a different brand of Methadone as if they are suffering from withdrawal. Methadone has a 24 hour half-life and even if you abruptly stopped taking Methadone you would not suffer from "withdrawal symptoms" for at least 3 days, unless you had taken some other medication that caused the Methadone to be flushed from your body such as Suboxone, and Subutex as well even though Subutex doesn't contain Naltrexone, a,k.a. "Narcan." After approximately 3 days of stopping the use of Methadone the patient will begin to have sleepless nights, interrupted sleep, nightmares and night sweats, depression, extreme fatigue, loss of appetite, and in some cases seizures, although rare, and in older patients who are in bad health or suffering from cardiovascular disease, the patient can even die. This has been seen in jails across the country who unlawfully refuse to give the prisoner their prescribed dosages of methadone. All these factors can be exacerbated by the patient also being on other prescription meds, such as benzodiazepams. A patient who has been taking Xanax, Valium, and other Benzos for several years can suffer a horrible and lengthy withdrawal if they should abruptly stop taking these medications as well, some patients can also die from Benzodiazepam withdrawal.

Some people say "they are all the same". I can't agree. While one of you wrote three paragraphs I can still state it very plainly and briefly ASC sucks it's worthless, awful, It is the worst of all I have taken all that I know of except Mylan. Which I have not tried.I have been on diskettes, liquid cherry, liquid clear all of it. Now my pharmacy keeps a bottle of Mallincrodt for me. So far I like them the best. I'd like to try Mylan. Oh and Roxanne is nothing special either. I correct myself, I like diskettes best but I'm not gonna play program games anymore, don't need to. If I lived in the city, I Might. Just so I could get disketttes save some money.

I agree Tom, they are not the same. ASC totally sucks. My doc decided for me to have Opana after 15 yrs if Methadone. Worst excruciating month of my life. Im not a trouble maker but on my next visit I demanded to be put back on methadone or something bad would happen to me. I also went to different pharmacy and also demanded Mallinkrodt brand. Had to wait a day but after all I went thru the past month one day was worth it. Im back to my " normal " and doing fine. Was not given reason for med change. But I'm blessed to be back on good medication. Thanks everyone.

Just stay away from them and you will be fine. I know very little about them except they will put you in withdrawals in a few days.,

Absolutely. Methadone is methadone... I've been on 150mgs per day for over 15 years and I just took the asc116 and they do me the very same

Well, thought getting Mallinkrodt was great but went to pharmacy and NOW was told on next refill you'll get whatever is available. Said " we cant order certain brands for whoever wants them " Went to another pharmacy who said they only carry Roxane brand. Thats good enough for me. NO Ascend-- nightmare in a tablet. These stupid pharmacies can kiss my ##.

If they are a grey color they don't work at all. I had to have my doc call in the regular white ones. Good luck i went into light withdrawal from grey ones!

Ive ben on methadone for over 15years, yes they is a diff n them, the 40mg waffers is what i take daily 3 of them =120mg! Ok i can take 12 of the kaskets thats the rectangle ones =120mg same feel as waffers! But the 54-142's 12 of those just ant the same feel?? Good luck wit 116 ones! Ive never ben around those?

I too just took them for the first time,I feel like I'm in withdrawals.throwing up pooping! Wth! They can't be the same.I had no thoughts about them at all when I got them but NOW I DO!

I have NEVER posted in ANY forum before and feel as if I have some thing to add today !! So lucky you :D ! Any hoo . This morning as I do every morning there are "vitamins" and "supplements" to had or taken ! I ask my other half for my breakfast. When I sat down and just happened to notice different #'s and ASC ! On a script that's supposed to be same one filled 2 weeks ago. ( So he's holding out on me and has a secret stash - but we'll save that for another day ) But AHH HAAA - there it is - in black & white ! The reason I have been feeling less than my best ( as I can be right now ) and why I feel as if im going thru withdrawl every 30 minutes .. stomach upset and almost an allergic reaction feeling . I have taken BOTH brands and I assure anyone who thinks the "other people" are lying or all in their head. Its not . Its NOT stronger or weaker per say, its the FILLERS that are bodies are reacting to . the METHADONE in both is the same, but the fillers that are added to fill in the rest of the missing piece of the standrard pill size is not. If they didn't have fillers. it would essentially be straight M-DONE ( like roxy 30's yum yum ) So to fill in whatever blanks they have left after they add methadone is culprit.

Had a good month with Malinkrodts but on next refill was told only ASC was available. OMG...how was i gonna live with that crap? Luckily..sorta...switched to CVS and was told they only carry Roxane brand. So better than crappy ASC. I live in a Malinkrodt manufacturing city..wish I could get my med from there. I hope someone will put ASC out of business. They totally suck.

Im a med tech so alls i do all day pass medication!!! U are 100% right. 10mg of one pill may not be 10mg in another manufacturer! Ive seen 100s of times when a manufacturer is switched and us nurses and med tech and patients know and can feel a difference

I get so tired of people saying there is no difference-you can buy into that BS if you want to- but people with chronic pain can tell a difference, and usually have to find out the hard way when they are suffering because a pharmacy decided the cheaper brand is the same.
