I take 0.5mg of Clonazepam for anxiety. Is it safe to take Meloxicam as well? My Dr. prescribed it to me for back, neck and all over pain due to herniated discs and a bulging disc. ## Hi Mel, According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Meloxicam and Clonazepam. This doesn't necessarily mean that no interactions exist, so it's probably best to discuss any concerns with your doctor first. However, I don't see why your doctor would prescribe two meds that contradict one another in such a way. I also haven't come across any information suggesting that it's unsafe in my own investigation. Hope this helps! ## Hi, thanks for your response. What do you mean they contradict each other? One ...

Meloxicam 15MG TAB (mee-LOX-i-kam) ## Hi, I know this is possibly the wrong thing to to, so this is certainly not meant as advice, just what I do. Both my partner and father also have bad knees. When my knees start playing up, I take 2 x 15mg so 30mg in total every day I am in pain / discomfort and always have done. It helps pain and allows me to have a better range of movement to manipulate if back in to the position it should be in order to be able to walk again. I'm having back pain and took a 15 mg meloxicam after having taken 3 Aleve 1 hour prior. Should I be concerned about interaction of two? ## Hello, Mary! How are you? These are both classified by the FDA as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so you shouldn't double up, you should stick with one or the other in the recommended dosage amounts and intervals. Taking them together increases the risk of bleeding, stomach ulceration and similar conditions. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness and headache. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was instructed by my orthopedic dr to take two Aleve in the morning and two Aleve at night. How does this compare to taking one 15 mg Meloxicam a day?

I'm taking Nucynta 100mg 4 x a day with IB profen 800mg 3 x a day for back pain but am currently out of Nucynta so I have been taking Tylenol/Codeine # 3 and # 4 with my IB Profen and a few 7.5 Meloxicam. I should be getting my refill today but I take the other meds to keep from going into withdrawels, been there several times getting off Oxy, and several other opiates and it is nothing nice. Are these safe to mix? ## You should not be mixing the Ibuprofen and the Meloxicam, the FDA classifies these both as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so you are essentially doubling up on the same medication, which increases your risk of bleeding, stomach irritation, and possible ulceration. How are you doing? There is also a risk of liver damage from combining those two medications, according...

I have osteoarthritic hips and run a restaurant, I am on my feet 5-6 hours a day. I currently take meloxicam 3-4 days a week with Tylenol Arthritis. I need something stronger, would Tramadol 50mg be a better choice? Could I take them both in the morning safely? ## Tramadol is classified as an opiate, by FDA standards, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. As to your other question, it depends on what you want to take it with? I'm sorry, but your post wasn't clear. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you!

I have been taking NSAIDS for the past 21 years. The last 10 years it has been Meloxicam 15mg/day. Over the past 7 years I have steadily become allergic to many things. I am now severly allergic to corn, soy, wheat, nuts and mold. My Asthma is now severe. The Meloxicam was no longer able to control the pain from my arthritis so a year ago out of desperation I went gluten free and found that my Arthritis was so much better but I was still going into anaphylactic shock over things I was eating that I had never had a reaction to when I was younger. I am now 58 years old. Over the past year I have gone into anaphylatic shock 16 times and I am now gluten free, corn free, soy free and nut free. In the past month I was still having some allergic reactions and heard that Meloxicam and other dru...

I have osteoarthritis in my spine, knees and hips and have recently developed severe pain in both arms, extending to the fingers on my right hand, worse on getting out of bed in the morning. I was taking Panadol Osteo two three times a day which didn't really help much so my doctor prescribed Mobic. It helps a lot but not completely so am wondering if I should keep taking Panadol Osteo as well as Mobic? Also, is it necessary to have a few days break from Mobic every so often? I take Sotalol for AF, Perindopril for blood pressure, Apixaban as a blood thinner and Carbimazole for hyperthyroidism. I have asked my doctor and pharmacist these questions but am still confused as to what I should safely do even though I have read all the information available. ## Hello, Janice! How are you? ...
