I've been having uterine bleeding for several months. what is medroxypr Ac going to do for me ? will it stop the bleeding ?

I have excessive bleeding from uterine fibroids, and was prescribed medroxypr ac 10mg tab,
will this stop my current bleeding or prolong it?

I WAS BLEEDING FROM MAY 2 TIL PRESENT ON AND OFF, THE ONE TIME WAS COMING DOWN LIKE WATER AND BIG CLOTS THE SIXE IF A WOMENS PALM. WENT TO MY GYN WHO PRESCRIBED MEDROXYPR AC 10 MG, ONCE A DAY FOR 90 DAYS. I HAD STOPPED BLEEDING FOR ABOUT4 DAYS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I STARTED BLEEDING AGAIN WITH A SMALL CLOT HERE AND THERE. I AM 48 YEARS OLD. MY DR SAYS HORMONES ARE GOING OUT OF WACK. MY QUESTION IS WILL MY BLEEDING STOP. I AM AFRAID THAT WHILE SITTING AT WORK IT WI
LL GUSH OUT LIKE A FAUCET. DR DID A BIOPSY OF UTERUS,STILL WAITING FOR RESULTS. DID TRANSVAGINAL ULTRASOUND, PELVIC U/S AND RESULTS WERE THAT UTERUS IS ENLARGED AND OVARIES COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED. I JUST WANT THIS BLEEDING TO STOP.

to melaine, i am 47 y\o with the same heavy bleeding clotting issues. this lasted four weeks, some days much heavier than others. went to see my gyn, did the same test, also had the enlarge uterus. he gave me a 5mg RX for 90 days. if the bleeding comes back and is like before, i can dicsuss a uterine ablation. my co worker had this and her periods stopped. it is out pt. i have to try the meds for 90 days before my ins will pay for the procedure. you might discuss this with your doctor. my co worker said it was the best thing ever!! no bleeding, no surgery, no hospital stay--said she was home by lunch. good luck
