Mallinckrodt Discontinue Hydrocodone

Mallinckrodt still makes hydrocodone. Depending on lowest bidder, unless a drug is truly discontinued, that's who your pharmacy will stock. I am a tech and our pharmacy just changed to Mallinkrodt which I feel is an inferior product.

What brand is the least troublesome ?
Do you get many complaints from your opioid using customers ?
I sometimes break my tablets in half. I've noticed that the brands that give me trouble are much MUCH harder to break than the brands that work effectively. the ones that work well almost dissolve in my mouth I wonder if anyone else has noticed this.

I use to take Mallincrot because it was the most consistent but my Pharmacist stopped using that and this has been quite sometime since I've had them. What I was given last time was tris and I have been having pretty severe stomach cramps. I understand it is manufactured in India. Isn't India overrun with Rats? I did read that there was one that seemed to be a good manufacturing place, but another one there had "so many flies you couldn't count" meaning unsanitary! One pill tested was found to have Ecoli, not good at all!

People can always look on the FDA’s website on the drug shortage page, and the last when a company discontinues making a medication. The pharmacies used to special order for people, but they don’t seem to anymore, so I have to run around and find pharmacies that stock whatever brand I prefer. It’s a pain.

The stomach cramps are probably with drawls because they probably are not putting enough active ingredient in the medication. Generics can vary up to 20% in strength from the original, they can be up to 20% stronger or 20% weaker, and then the generics can be very different between each other. Imagine one is 20% stronger than the namebrand and another is 20% weaker than the namebrand, the two different generics would be extremely different in strength. And this is all OK and legal. Did the medication work except for the stomach cramps, if not I would assume it’s just that they shorted you on the actual active ingredient.
