I've been on LYRICA for almost a month, it was kind of a last resort for me. I have had chronic back/nerve pain (unknown cause) for 20 months now. Neurosurgeon and Orthopedic both say surgery is not an option. They recommended a spinal cord stumulator but im weary of it. LYRICA has given me energy and I sleep better. I cook and clean and laundry gets done...that hasn't happened since before pain started. I feel more positive but my moods change quickly. Has anyone else had these effects? ## There are plenty of people that have had good experiences with it, it's just that they aren't the ones that usually go hunting up a website for information. :-) It's a simple fact that most people don't share their good experiences with something, they only hunt up a site like...

You are not supposed to drink while on Lyrica. I made the big mistake of doing that. I took my dose in the morning and then got invited by some friends to go out. I do not usually drink, but started drinking around 9:30 pm. I was found in an alley behind a restaurant at 4 am. The last thing I remember was last call at 2am. I am only posting this to give a VERY strong warning not to drink while on this medication. Luckily I am OK and still alive. It is a horrible feeling to not know what happened in those 2 hours. Please do not drink while on Lyrica. ## I have been on Lyrica at various strengths from 200mg/day down to 50mg/day. I drink (probably more than I should) but I have never experienced any problems drinking the equivalent of 5 or so drinks while on this medication. I have experie...

after taking lyrica for 2 months, I have damage to my optic nerve...I knew I was having trouble seeing when I was taking it, but it did make my fibromyalgia so much better and my feet quit huring....when I wen to my eye doctor he said that my eye was damaged and I had to go to a specialist....it was not caused by high pressure in my eye and he could not figure out what was going on...I can find no lawyer to represent me....they do not seem to want to take on a big drug company....I am all most 100 % sure that the lyrica damaged my eye.....good luck to all of you trying to get a lawyer to represent you....God bless each one...Carol ## this is just a guess, but there may be a small possibility you may have ms, not fibromyalgia...one symptom besides the pain in your feet is optic neuritis,...

AARP is not an organization looking out for seniors and getting savings on drugs. AARP should have the following information at their fingertips and I have brought it to their attention in 2 separate emails. Pfizer has revised their patient income limit. The new limits are $47,080 annualy for a single person. If your income is below that level you can get drugs like Celebrex, Lyrica and others for FREE. Previously, my prescription for Lyrica and Premarin put me in the donut hole by March. Now, since I get them FREE directly from Pfizer I am nowhere near the donut hole. Pfizer is a great company looking out for seniors. AARP should be ashamed to themselves for not getting this information out to their subscribers.l Go on the site Pfizer Pathways and you will get all the info you need to ...

I take Lyrica, Tramadol, Effexor, Vyvanse, Valium (I have been on this medication for the past forty years because I have TMJ and it works as an muscle relaxant), Hyoscyamine, Dexilant, Singulair, and vitamins. Could any of these drugs (along or in combination) be causing me to experience amnesia? I was also recently diagnosed with ADHD. ## Hello, Laura! How are you doing? I am sorry to read of the problems you've been having. Regarding the amnesia, or forgetfulness, that is listed among the possible side effects of Lyrica and Tramadol, while Vyvanse, Valium, Singular, and Hyoscyamine can all cause nervousness, and other ADHD-like symptoms. (Remove the Vyvanse, if you weren't taking it, when the ADHD appeared.) There is no way to say if your issues are due to just one of them, o...

my spouse is suffering from the above as a result of shingles. The commonly used drugs of choice(Lyrica & other) do little to ease her constant pain in the neck & shoulder area. what about acupunchure ? This has been going on for 2+ yr's and no medical Dr. has come up w/any help. ## It wouldn't hurt to give it a try. Acupuncture relieves pain and is for therapeutic purposes. According to traditional Chinese medical theory, these acupuncture points lie along meridians along which qi, the vital energy, flows. There is no known anatomical or histological basis for the existence of acupuncture points or meridians. To read more about Acupuncture click on the link below... I want to know a little about Lyrica medicine, all about its reaction, how to withdraw, etc ## Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is an anticonvulsant that's also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight changes and drowsiness. You can also discover more Lyrica details here. As to withdrawing, it should be done in a slow taper, after you've been on it for awhile, since a sudden withdrawal may cause rebound symptoms, as well as cause the risk of seizures. Are there any other questions? ## I was on 300mg a day for years. With my doctors help he wrote a prescription for 50mg and 25mg tabs. 1st I stepped down to 200mg/day, for a month or so, then I got to 100mg then 50 and now I'm on 25...

I'm diabetic. Neuropathy is a big problem with my feet specially at night. I was taking lyrica, I call it a miracle pill for me. The only huge problem with Lyrica was gained so much weight but only in my stomach. I was so happy with Lyrica that never payed attention. Till one day my nephew asked me if I was pregnant. Stopped the meds and tried everything else but nothing works. ## I've been taking Lyrica or (Gabapentin) 300mg 3-4 daily for 5 yrs now and I do notice I do eat more, especially if suboxone is added to the mix. I occasionally take suboxone, maybe once a month for 5-7days to break up the pain meds I take, or if I simply run out. Anyways, yes, it all goes to my stomach. Also, maybe more people will post saying the same thing as I'm sure it's a side effect, but ...

I have crps in both hands from carpal tunnel release...after several months, I was worse, not better. My workmens comp dr. said " You will have chronic pain the rest of your life and you will just have to learn to live with it"...oh thanks doc for screwing my hands up, not to mention how it has drastically has changed my life and limitations. I have been seeing a pain specialist ever since and that was back in 2001 when I had the release. I was on lyrica for the last 6 years, I have been off of it for three months. Now that I think back to when my severe depression started was not long since I started taking it. I don't know how many times I said I hate my life and I wish I was dead, I had thoughts of taking all my prescriptions and going to sleep for good! By the grace of g...

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you ## Hi Vicky. Right now it looks like the primary lawsuits concerning Lyrica are centered around suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Very sorry to hear about your condition from this drug. I've heard of many individuals experiencing some dramatic side effects from long term use. That's just a shame. I definitely would not give up yet, because what you are saying is now coming to the forefront, so it's just the beginning. What has your doctor's response been to your deter...

I've only been taking lyrica for 3 weeks. 75mg twice a day for a week then 150 mg twice a day for 2 weeks. I need back surgery and lyrica isn't something I should have been subscribed. The specialist told me to stop taking it but now I'm reading that I need to wean off. Do I still need to wean off if I've only been on it 3 weeks? The Dr. went on vacation for 3 weeks so I can't ask him ## I have been using Lyrica 200 mg twice a day in excess of a year. My pharmacy failed to request a refill request as they said they would and I was out for about 5 days. I've had 5 toes amputated and had pain in my feet. Hi, I've learned a lot from other people's experiences on this site over the last few years and wanted to share my experiences with something that comes up on here from time to time, and I hope that I can somehow help out somebody out there wondering. I live in socal (south of LA), and have been taking Lyrica (pregabalin) for fibromyalgia and migraines for about six or seven years now, and it would not be exaggerating to say that it has really changed my life. It's an incredible product, and the only thing I've tried after ten or fifteen years of doctors trying me on everything and mosf things they tried either not doing anything or else just making things worse. With no generic alternative available in the US, I have to pay $217 every time I pick up a refill (28 pills p...

I was on this drug for 5mnths, had a dental check jus after I started it all was perfect. Now a month ago my teeth started cracking and chipping, so I went back to dentist he did x rays said I needed crowns and some fillings, but when he started my teeth fell apart, the pregablin has done so much damage I have to have 5 lower ones out & a plate put in not good I'm 47, even the dentist said it happened quick. Can I report this to anyone, I would also say to anyone don't take it,it destroys your teeth ## Hello, Loopy! Wow, that is very odd, it usually takes quite awhile for these types of medications to cause such severe dental issues. In many cases, it takes years of use, not just months. As to who you can report it to, I don't know who your relevant drug regulatory agenc...

Has anyone had side effects taking Lyrica And Fluoxetine together? Such as mood swings, concentrating on things, forgetfulness, mixing letters and words, dizziness, hands jerking/ twicthcing in hands, ## Just found this site. I also take Fluoxetine 20mg.and Lyrica 25mg. three times a day. When I first started the Lyrica I was very disoriented, so much so I was afraid to drive. However as time has gone on that has disappeared. I have gained weight and have pretty bad dry mouth but the pain has decreased unbelievably. I just stood and danced for 2 1/2 hours at a Paul McCartney concert and did not suffer at all. The next day was another story but still manageable. ## Hi Diane, The side effects you've been experiencing are common on these medications, so you're definitely not alone....

how long does it take for lyrica to leave your system? ## If you are referring to worrying about a drug test, then there is no need, Lyrica is NOT an opiate narcotic and is not tested for on these types of tests. If you are asking due to side effects or some type of reaction, it can vary depending on how long you have been taking it and how much, but usually the drug will be clear from your body in 48 to 72 hours. Lyrica, which contains the active ingredient Pregabaline, is an anticonvulstant that has also been proven effective at treating certain types of nerve pain. ## i am going for routine blood work and a urinalysis(chemical) tests as part of my physical...will Lyrica show up in any of these tests? Thanks ## okay first of all what you are saying is completely wrong.
