What is the medication with these markings IP204?

This tablet contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, this combination could be considered a generic for either one, though many doctors refer to Lorcet as being the product that contains 650mgs of the Acetaminophen.

This is a narcotic pain reliever, so it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation.

My apologies, it's been one of those mornings. Lorcet would actually contain Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, so the tablet you were asking about would be a generic for Percocet, because it contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen.

which is considered a stronger medication overall, Lorecet or Norco? I realize that dosages make a difference but how comparable are they?

jfanch, without taking the dosage into consideration, neither would be considered stronger, because they both contain the same active ingredients, which are Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone.

I have used Percocet for many years for pain.
Due to a shortage of Percocet in Florida I had to take my perscription to another Pharmacy," Walmart".
They gave me a long white pill IP204, different from any (generic) percocet that I have ever used before.
When I picked the prescription up, I explained this was not the pill I have been taking. The Pharmacy assured me it was okay & the same, just a different manufacturer. This particular pill "DOES NOT RELIEVE MY PAIN".
This is very frustrating, because I have to do without pain pills for a whole month
due to this being a controlled medication & can't reorder for another month & they cannot be exchanged.
I need the name of the manufacturer so that this does not happen again!!

I like shopping at walmart for paint, some foods and electronics. Yet when it comes to Pain Medications I rather go to CVS or Rite Aid for proper pain medications. You truly get what you pay for. I wouldn't even get antibiotics from walmart. The workable Pain Med for me for Back pain has been Percocet (Watson). I had surgery on my back and head some years ago. But always follow the instructions your DR gives you. If one tab doesn't work talk to your DR don't double up. When you have a bad back you should find out if it is soarness or actual disc pain. You shouldn't take pain meds like Hydrocodone or Oxycodone because of soarness. Those medications are for actual pain. People trend to pop pills for the least amount of pain. Try to exersize and if you have pain then contact your DR and explain what is going on.

Another note about Pain Medications. The above title reads Lorcet vs Percocet. These are named brands of Hydrocodone(Lorcet) and Oxycodone (Percocet). In theory Oxycodone is stronger then Hydrocodone. They are both strong pain medications and should not be abused. Like I mentioned in previous blogs many simply don't read the warnings on there med bottle warning problems with high doses of APAP(Tylenol).
Also when the DR says "USE WHEN NEEDED". Many go beyond that. My question to some of you is? How can you take 8 Lorcet 10/650's per day? The APAP dosage is 5200 mg. That is way dangerous and harmful on your liver and other vital organs besides 80 mg of Hydrocodone. We should all learn to manage our pain. Take up Chi Kung and learn breathing exercises. Maybe we can use less pain meds. It is really bad when agencies like the DEA are watching DR's and patients because of Pain Med use.

I just wanted to say, Bravo, to whomever it was that called out all the fools taking 7-8 narcs a day for pain. I may not be a typical MD but I am a Dr of Pharmacy and behavior like that is basically lengthened suicide because of how much acetiminophen you are taking is horrendous on your liver. This type of blatant disdegard for Drs instructions is why, in early 2014, in the USA the strongest dose of tylenol aka acetimenophen allowed by the FDA will be 300MG Per pill. And yes this means all the Rx pain meds that have that ingredient in them as well. All I have to say is, these new formulations will not work as well, the people b****ing will be the ones abusing the current formulations, and frankly you forced the government to step in and do this so I have no sympathy. To the patients taking their meds as prescribed who will suffer from this, you most certainly do have my sympathy, and in the slim chance that any of my customers end up reading this, you all know I go the extra mile to help customers who truly need the help and do the bare minimum for the ones abusing the system

Get a real life, I hate people who b**** about persons w chronic pain who take meds. I don't care who takes what or how much. I take what I need n live my life work play ect... Do the Same really. TRY IT LIVE YOUR OWN LIFE WTF?

Lol you guys are so funny im a pharmacy tech I make these drugs for a living, Their is nothing different between generic brands and original brand its the same ingredients at the same measurements. If you think so its psycho somatic you just this so and to tell the truth we laugh at people who say other wise a specially people who say they are allergic to the generics once again. "Psychosimatic"

Sorry Mr. Pharmacist. The active ingredients have to be the same in generics according to the FDA. However, its the non-active ingredients that are different bringing the cost down in the generic drugs. People can be allergic to these fillers where they are not to the name brand. Also these fillers can make the medication not work as well on absorbtion too. So better go back to school. FDA statement says; "The FDA also requires that the generic version be as pure and stable as the original drug. ... But there may be differences between brand name and generic drugs. Although the active ingredient must be the same as the original drug, generics may include different inactive ingredients such as preservatives or fillers."
