Lo Loestrin Fe - Missed Periods (Page 15)
UpdatedI've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe at the same time every day consistantly for two months with no period... is this normal?
Rest assured!! That is the way that Lo Loestrin Fe works, it rids you of your monthly period. My gyno recommended it over five years ago for me because I was struggling with migraine headaches with other pills and apparently this pill was low hormone dose and could possibly help. I love this pill!!! I had a tough first month but by my second month I was period and headache free!! I've been on this pill since 2010, I do not have monthly periods and all I do is take a drug store pregnancy test about every three months to check.
I've been on this birth control for almost two years and have maybe had a period once or twice. My doctor says it's normal! Some months I do feel a bit more hormonal than others, though.
I am a 30yr old female and I stopped taking this pill (I had been on similar ones others in prior years) four months ago. For years, doctors in three different states told me it was completely normal to not have a period, while most of my family members and friends disagreed. Naturally I believed the gyno's. That being said, I'm a runner, eat healthy, and I've been battling a stress fracture for almost a year now. The orthopedic surgeon was PERPLEXED that I hadn't had a period for years. In short -periods are linked to your endo system and bone density. Not getting your period can have severe side effects to you body. I can't help but think my fracture it related to the pill and all those years w/I a period. I would try other options- perhaps steering away from the pill that is bad on so many levels(profit driven, masks other underlying reproductive problems, fertility, etc).
Ps- webmd lists a 'RARE side effect' of this pill as 'irregular periods' and I'm sure other literature does as well. Doesn't seem that 'rare' to me
This pill will make you skip periods. I was on it for 1 year and for 1 year I had missed periods.
It doesn't affect your fertility. Stop making things up and scaring people.
Your orthopedic doctor may have been perplexed but he's just that: and ORTHOPEDIC doctor, not a gynecologist. Let him stick to what he knows, which is NOT reproductive systems and forms of birth control.
There is nothing wrong with missing your period on this pill.
I stopped taking birth control after 30 years on and off in March 2015. I had a my cycle in April however, I have not had a cycle in May (3 weeks late). I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Is this a side effect? Please advise.
I am on my 3rd pack and missed my period this month so I am wondering the same thing
Been taking lo loestrin fe for about 6 months more less and recently started drinking detox tea. Would this affect my birth control in any way possible? I also haven't gotten my period and I usually get it on the last week of my pills.
I've been on Lo loestrin for over 2 years and have never had a period on it. Like ever. My doctor said it's totally normal. As long as she's says it's ok, I'm perfectly ok with it.
Ok.. So i decided to go back on birth control after my third child. I went to my doctor and because im over 35 he prescribed me loloestrin fe. I read all the reviews and decided id try it. So i was told not to start the pills until the first day of my period. I usually spot a few days before.. So i waited. The day I saw more than just spotting i started my first pack. I have only taken the pill for two days.. But the spotting has disappeared almost completely! Im nervous and want to make sure im not prego. Is this normal after starting the pill only after 2 days?
I also have been on it for almost 3 years now and I haven't had one period. My dr and rheumatologist both said it's normal so if they are good with it, so am I.
I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe since January and got on it for bad cramps. I have never had long periods and they were pretty on track. I had a period the first month, but since then it has been nonexistent. My doctor said it was normal as long as you game your pill on time and do not miss any. It's nice, but can be weird at times not having it. Also, I did experience some cramping, bloating, breast tenderness and nausea in the beginning but it does go away. Sometimes I am a bit moody and my boobs hurt on occasion but it's a rareity.
I'm 46 have been taking loestra for a year and haven't had my period for 4 months is it from these pills?
Ive been taking lo loestrin fe . I havent missed any days of taking the pills but on row 2 my cycle starts to come on . Is that normal ? What sure i do?
Hey there, I've been on this BC for about 6 years now (I'm 23). I consistently do not have periods. It's totally normal on this pill. In two days it will be 6 months since my last period. However, I still get all the symptoms of a period (minus the bleeding) around the time I'm due. I am starting to get concerned though. It seems like such a great thing not to have to worry about your period, but how do you know if you're pregnant if you never have a period in the first place. It makes me extremely worried when I am sexually active since I never know and BC isn't 100%, also I have a poor libido and sex is super painful. That said, it's been over a year with no sex and half a year with no period.

Update::: I stopped taking this pill after only 2 days. I HATED the side effects.. But what I most hated was the fact that it stopped my period from coming. So after much frustration and PAIN.. I decided to quit after only 2 days. I continued on my normal healthy regimen of drinking plenty of water and getting all my vitamins.. and BOOM within a day my period was back in full force. I really didn't like the harsh side effects of this pill.. I had very bad cramping, headaches, nausea and dizziness. Being a mother of 3 children already.. I have a VERY high tolerance for pain and discomfort, but this was totally abnormal for me. Again, to each its own.. I took BC years ago when I was younger and figured after having my children I would give it another try as an additional precaution. But my OBGYN suggested that since I am over the age of 35, he would prescribe me this brand. He did swear by the benefits of having no periods.. But after I told him, I would like to still have a period.. he continued to tell me, this pill works differently for all women. He said that there was a high chance I would continue to still have my period. So I gave it a try. I decided to take a look at a message board concerning this brand, and all the women said the same things.. No period for months at a time so on and so forth. So I had to go with the majority rule and I realized, Im not much different than any of you. My husband and I still use protection.. but I prefer protection with no hormones so I can keep a somewhat normal lifestyle. That's my story.. and Im stickin to it. Best of luck to u ladies.
I'm 32 and getting married in a month. My fiancé and I have not had sex. The wedding night will be our first time. I'm concerned about this pill causing me to have miscarriages when we are trying to get pregnant. I also wanted to know if this pill effects my egg production?
Ive been on Lo loestein fe for about two years. After the third month I stopped having a period which was awesome! Like other's I still experienced period like symptoms during some cycles just without the bleeding. Including bloating and a few pop up zits.
Recently after a few months of high stress I've gotten my period for the last three months. They are still light and only last 3 - 4 days but its still disappointing to deal with them. I might switch to somethings else if they continue!
I'm so happy to have found this I have been kind of freaking out on the inside because I've been on this pill for about 4-5 ish months now and for the last two months I haven't gotten my period. Last month, I didn't get my period when I was suppose to and then I got light spotting a week later. Today I'm on my first sugar pill and nothing, and I can't sleep right now I don't know why. I'm switching at the end of this pack.
