Lo Loestrin Fe And Continuous Bleeding (Page 11)

I started taking Lo Loestrin FE on Feb. 2nd and it is now Feb. 21st and I have been bleeding non-stop (literally all day, every day). Doctor says to wait it out for 3 months... 3 months of non-stop bleeding? I've heard of breakthrough bleeding but this crazy!

I was told to start taking Lo Loestrin but my period was late, so Doc gave me a steroid to kick start it. I had 30 days of non stop heavy bleeding, even had to stay home from work several days. Doctor gave me Natazia to stop it, didnt work. He was at a loss and said Lo Loestrin is made to really curb heavy bleeding. (umm). So then I stopped it completely and it finally stopped on it's own about a week later. So i finally have my natural period again two months later. I need birth control and had always thought maybe the steroid was the culprit last time. So I start it again and here we are day 15 and instead of it going away, it's getting heavier. It's really a pain and is causing multiple issues in my relationship. Ugh. I'm going to stop taking it now again and we'll just have to figure something out until I can get a new gyno to take a look.

I am on Paxil & Wellbutrin for anxiety & depression..Don't understand the depression part cause I have everything to be happy about!!! Anyway yesterday I went to an ob/gyn to get established since my blood work shows I am pre menopausal...I have no sex drive & am only hot during the day,no night sweats... She gave me lo loestrin fe 10 mg to hopefully get my sex drive back & not be so hot during the day...After reading all these stories I am scared to death to take one now....I don't want to go back to being depressed & crying every day!!!! What to do???? Has anybody taken this for menopause & had positive results???

I see that you said you are now taking a generic of loestrin 24fe. Can you please tell me what it is called? I was on Loestrin 24fe for almost 2 years and had no problems, but I had to switch b/c it was so expensive. I would love to know what generic you are taking. Thanks!

I have been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for two months. The first month I completely skipped my period, and now (in the second month) I've been on my period for 2 weeks and counting. This is ridiculous. If you are like me and usually have very light periods that only last for 3 or 4 days, I DO NOT recommend this pill. Ask your doctor other options for birth control. I don't wish this non sense on anyone.

Has the bleeding stopped? Im only in my 3rd week on loestrin fe but my gyn says to stick it out for 3 mnths. She put me on loestrin for the ongoing bleeding i already have. So for me its just 3 more mnths to wait to stop.

I started Lo Loestrin Fe 3 months ago. The doctor wanted me to stick it out for 3 months, so I did! But I can't take anymore of this! I have been cramping horribly every day since starting it. Not to mention bleeding constantly as well. The cramping starts about a half hour to 2 hours (anywhere in that range) after I take my pill in the morning. This pill has made me depressed, killed my libido, and made me feel tired (partially from the constant blood loss). I am sick of this pill and SO glad to be changing.
By the way, no pre-menopausal or anything here. I am 17. This pill was prescribed to REGULATE my periods, not make me bleed and cramp constantly. I DO NOT recommend this pill to anyone!

Hi. Your case sounds really similar to mine I too was taking my pull within 1/2 to 2 hours of variance. Did taking the pill AT THE SAME TIME help you with the BTB?

Never mattered when I took the things. I could take them same exact time daily and it didn't matter. I still had bleeding every 10-12 days constantly. And it was too much blood for a legitimate BTB session. When you have to resort to pulling out pads/tampons, it is no longer BTB.

Best decision ever made was going off these things ASAP. Never had a problem since.

I took them at the same time every day. I just went off the pills and NO bleeding, no more cramping, no fatigue, I feel 10x better! I'm now on Tri-nessa. These are a higher dose and working wonderfully!

Hi ladies i just wantedvto update u on my progress with loestrin fe i am on the second row of my second pack and have not had any bleeding for 10 days! A break which my body greatly needed i had bloodwork done while i was bleeding and surprise my iron was low, my kidney function test levels were high and my vitamin d was low also
I dont know if there is any councedence but after i took my 1st 10,000 mg rx vitamin d, the bleeding stopped and hasnt returned yet. This was also the same dau that i began the new pack of loestrin so idk but for now i dont hate loestrin we shall see what happends in the up coming weeks ill keep u posted!

Kendra, I started Lo Loestrin FE 1-10 on Sept 7th and still bleeding. I am about the start my third week. So, can you tell me, when you started taking it? Did you start it on the first day of your period? I am still bleeding. I started it on the 1st day of my cycle and the first seven days was barely nothing. Then on the 14th, full no period and still going. I see your post about you were on your second week of second pack and no bleeding for ten days. So, you stopped bleeding on the fourth pill of the second pack? Anything dates/time frames would be so helpful. I am 43 yrs old and dr put me on to stop the 14day periods I was having. Feeling very frustrated.

Hi. I started taking loestrin due to ongoing bleeding prior to loestrin.i couldnt tell you if the prior bleeding was my actual period but i bled for 3 mnths prior to loestrin, the bleeding i had before was mostly light to normal bleeding. Loestrin caused heavy bleeding for a month strait. But im done my second row which i think means im on my second week of no bleeding. I hope it lasts untill the end of the month when hopefully it regulates my menstration. I hope you feel better soon and if not you should get some bloodwork done to make sure all ur levels are where they shud be take care

Gina i bled through the whole 1st packet of loestrin. It stopped when i began the 2nd pack and so far so good. Try and get through the 1st packet and see what happens good luck :)

I am on my second pack.I started bleeding about 4 days after finishing my period. I spoke to the nurse practitioner and she advised me to continue taking the pill until I finish the third pack. My concern is that on may 17,2013 I had the novasure procedure. I had heavy bleeding and minimal cramping. Everything after the procedure was fine for about two weeks. After the two weeks, I started spotting then started heavier bleeding. My period lasted 5 days and I still had to wear a super plus tampon. My cramps were actually worst than before. The doc checked my uterus and everything was fine and normal. He prescribed lo loestrin fe. I've actually been bleeding since the latter part of may. I can say that my non bleeding days would add up to about three weeks. I am tired of the toll that the nova sure procedure and lo loestrin fe pills have had on my body. Has anyone else out there had bleeding like mine? If so, did it stop after the three month mark? Did your period get lighter and for less days?

Hello. I am on my last blue pill on the 2nd pack and havent started my period yet. Finally a whole month of no bleeding. I was bleeding soooo much during the 1st pacl of loestrin but so far so good honestly i just want to be normal.i want to be one of those woman that know when they will start.

Hi there. Same here...I couldn't take it either. I stopped mid pack, the 15th pill. Bled four more days then stopped. Feel SO much better....but when will I get my period now??

Kim, can you tell me how your cycles went AFTER you stopped taking it? I started taking lo loestrin fe 1-10 the first day of my cycle, bled up to the 15th pill and could not take it so I stopped mid pack? When will I get my period now, or when will I ovulate? I bled for 3-4 more days after I stopped taking it, which, again, was mid pack, the 15th pill. So, effectively I stopped bleeing on the 23rd-24th of this month. Am I going to get a period now on the 5th of October when I should have, or will I actually ovulate on that day and then get my period 14 days later or so? I am so confused.

Hello im on my last brown pill on the second pack they gave me. I bled heavelly through most of the first pack i now have moderate cramps and spotting hopefully this is the start of my period and not another bout of bleeding to death slowely....im also very tired and nausiouse has anyone else experienced nausia w their periods on loestrin? I will post again if this was normal bleeding or not. Till then ladies try not to rip out your hair or uteruses :)
