I believe the medication your referring to is Lisinopril, which is used to help lower high blood pressure.

To reference the first question, no, it is not a blood thinner, this medication actually works by helping to relax the blood vessels, so blood can flow more freely, this reducing the interior pressure.

Some of the most common side effects of these types of medications include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache.

You can read more information here:

Is there any other information I can help you with?

After taking this medicine for about a couple of months I started to get a tickle in the throat and developed a cronic cough and had a constant need to clear my throat. Sometimes my heart would race withing seconds after taking one. Other side effects I had were tiredness, nausia, headaches, nervousness and mood swings. I stopped taking this stuff and slowly I'm feeling normal again.

I have been taking this medication for several months now, and I quit taking this stuff a week ago. I too had a nagging need to clear my throat. I thought it was because I quit smoking not too long ago. Should we be concerned?
