Lipikind Side Effect On Liver

My father has been taking lipikind since last 12 years. Now, since last 2 years, He's suffering from Liver swelling even he has no bad habits such as drinking, smoking etc. He'd left taking it for a while. In that period, there's a positive response from liver and it function well. But there is an increase in Cholesterol levels. So, he started to take Lipikind again & again there's the same problem occurs with the liver.
Is any other generic should be taken instead of Atorvastatin so that liver functions well?
Please suggest.
