I have been on anti-depressants since 1999 and would like to get off them altogether. I started with Paxil and after several years, it just wasnt cutting it anymore. Lexapro was a complete 180 right from the start. I am only on 10mg a day, but would like to stop. Had a real bad experience with stopping Paxil once for a week prior to a sleep study and am worried quitting Lexapro might be the same. I dont see a shrink cause he just pushed the meds the pharm rep was selling and my regular dr doesnt know much about it... help ## After being on it for that long, you'll definitely have to do a very slow taper, otherwise on top of the possible withdrawal type symptoms, you'll also likely experience rebound effects. These effects can include depressive symptoms that are worse than the o...

I've been on lexapro for about 3 years now, keeps me functioning but IDK if it's the drug or just me but I do feel blah with no emotions. Also the sexual side effects are whats killing me. I convinced the doc to switch me to viibryd. I cut the lex to 10mg recently and I'm going to do a direct switch to 10mg viibryd, hope it works! ## Can you read my post and tell me if your symptoms are similar?

I am a 39 year old female, just started taking Lexapro 10 mg this morning. I am feeling completely strange, my head has a dull pain almost numbness to it, my hand and arms are tingling, I have had to urinate all day long it's ridiculous. I feel as though my skin is crawling. I am having a severe panic attack. The thoughts going through my mind are crazy, I can't stop the wheels from turning. I was prescribed Lexapro for GAD, and I know that it normally takes up to two weeks for the medicine to start working, but I seriously can not function today. Has anyone else experienced this with taking Lexapro? I plan to call my doctor in the morning. Hopefully I can sleep tonight, but right now I'm wired! ## What did your doctor say when you called? Those seem to be some very problema...

i'm on 10mg LexaPro, have been on it for 3 wks now. And when i first took it, all day everyday whenever i yawned i felt as if my energy was leaving my body, i felt exhausted, and felt like i was about to pass out, then a few days i forgot to take one tablet ( cause i take one a day),so the following day i took 2, so i could catch up yesterday's that i missed, and felt twice as bad as what i just said (including tingling in arms/over tired/just wanting to sleep all day ect), and right now i'm about to take 16 10mg LexaPro tablets in one go. ## If you felt that bad after doubling up on the dosage, why are you wanting to take 16 of them at once? That's not going to help anything, no matter how you look at it. Learn more Lexapro details here. If this medication isn't wor...

oval white tablet ## Whats the name of the pill that is marked with 'FL 10'? Please reply. ## i would like to know about this perscriptionSIDE EFFECTS. ## FL 10 is Lexapro, 10 mg. ## While Lexapro 10 mg is a tablet imprinted with "FL 10", it is a CIRCULAR/ROUND tablet as opposed to an oval shaped pill as is described in the "Comments" section. An OVAL tablet imprinted with "FL 10" would be Namenda 10 mg. It is off-white to greyish in color.

I have heard that Lexapro is used to withdraw from cocaine. Does it work? If so, will Drs. prescribe it? ## Cocaine does the same thing as lexapro it release endorphins but just in a different way, faster. There is no reason to worry when doing the two. In fact while on lexapro I don't feel depressed the next day after doing coke as I usually would. ## why did they say they had to ccchrck out my last reply, to the person looking for a dr. who would prescribe them "methadone??? ## I respect your honest response because it appears that you speak from first hand experience and give a first hand experience regarding the physical and mental effects of mixing leaxapro and cocaine without giving a moral response which i think is irrelevant, everybody's experience is unique to thems...

lexapro and Fanapt taken together along with ambien, ,lorazapam, topamax, estra test, furosemide, protonix, busbar what are the effects of thses medications taken together ## Hi Christina, I hate to say it, but just about every medication you mentioned has a potentially dangerous or life threatening interaction of some kind with one another. The worst of these interactions however, lie between Topamax and Fanapt; and Buspar and Lexapro; where as you are at greater risk of serotonin syndrome, oligohidrosis and hyperthermia. Have you considered trying to replace any of these medications with something safer and more natural? I can suggest a few alternatives if you're open to the idea of it.

Is Cilentra 10 exactly the same as lexapro 10? I have been taking lexapro for years but my new insurance company sent Cilentra ## Yes, they both contain the active ingredient Escitalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant. The Cilentra is just manufactured by Ranbaxy, who have been slowly getting more of their foreign medications approved by the FDA for availability in the U.S. This is one of their most recent approvals. Hi all, I am going to jump up to 10mg as my psychiatrist told me to start @ 5mg and go to 10 once I felt comfortable. This was because I have been on Paxil and Cymbalta but had to stop due to bad side effects. I have see a few effects with the 5mg (tiredness, issues with concentration, palpitations, increased anxiety) but none of the effects have been too bad and seem to have kind of been stabalized as I am on day 10 of 5 mg. Should I expect to go through it all again as I jump to 10mg? or will I be better off since I am only coming up from 5mg as opposed to jumping from 0mg to 5mg? ## Yes, it is likely that you will experience the side effects, again, if you up the dosage. That is what usually happens with most medications. They normally hit their peak at around 4 to 6 weeks, at a given...

Is anyone out there taking 40mg of lexapro? are you experiencing any strange symptoms? is it safe to take that much? ## I personally don't have experience with this drug nor have I seen many individuals taking 40mg of it, but I just wanted to say that you should base it off of how you feel when you are on that dose for a certain period of time. Maybe give yourself a trial period and reevaluate how it may be effecting your everyday life. You can always go back to 20mg or less if it doesn't seem like it's needed or doesn't feel right for you. It is regarded as a pretty potent drug. You can read more about this drug by clicking on the link below... I hope this advice helps!

White circle pill with try h 20 carved in one side and R slash L carved in the other side ## Based on your description of a white round pill with R | L on one side and 20 on the other, all of my findings suggest that this pill's imprint is actually F | L on one side and 20 on the other. The description matches yours exactly, just replacing the "R" with an "F". If there is any possibility that you may have misinterpreted the marking on the pill, then I honestly believe that F | L is correct and this pill is Lexapro (20mg). I've been on lexapro for 3 days and am experiencing extreme nausea. Will maxillon react badly with lexapro or is it ok to take both? ## No, Maxillon wont react badly to the Lexapro. My doctor actually prescribed it in conjunction with Lexapro, as having a sensitive tummy, we knew I would experiance nausea for a few weeks. The nausea gradually subsided after a month & the Maxillon was very helpful.

I think I may be pregnant. My husband and I are excited, but i am in my second month of taking this medication (lexipril) and I don't want it to affect the baby . Will it harm it or should i get off of it. Need to know asap Thank you! ## I think you may have meant to say "Lexapro"? Lexipril doesn't exist in any of my searches. The manufacturer guidelines state the following information, regarding the use of Lexapro during pregnancy: "Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, especially if you are in the last few months of your pregnancy, or if you plan to become pregnant or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking escitalopram, call your doctor. Escitalopram (lexapro) may cause problems in newborns following delivery if it is taken during the last months o...

hello, my son is 12 and started taking lexapro 3 weeks ago with the titrating taking a week. Prior to lexapro he was on Prozac, we are very connected to his psychiatrist and we both felt that it was no longer doing the job targeting his minor OCD and his depression. My question for those in the know is this "is there really scientific evidence that there is a significant amount of people, specifically teenage boys who gain weight while on this medication?" I monitor what he eats to a degree but he is a 12 year old boy! I do not see him being more hungry but then again I reference the fact that he is a preteen--he is eating more and has gained some weight over the past 4-5 months so I cannot point to the lexapro. What i can say is that in the short time he has been on it the mino...

This med was prescribed by my foot doctor. I have biopsy proven sarcoidosis of the lungs, joints, kidneys and eyes. Is it okay to take deplin and metnax together? I have found a pill in my grandmother's house. It's a small, oblong, very light blue, (actually almost white) tablet with the letters FL imprinted on one side, and the number 10 on the opposite side. Just curious of what it might be..... If anyone knows or can find out what it might be, that would be awesome. Thanks and much appreciated with any help. Bethy from the coast of MS. ## I located a pill marked F | L 10 to be Lexapro (10 mg). This pill however is noted to be white and not blue, but otherwise fits your description.
