Lexamil 10mg Side Effects Terrible Aches

Apart from gaining weight, I experience terrible aches in my shoulders, knees and feet. So much so that I can't even pick up my arms. Is this a side effect from Lexamil? It helps when I use Voltaren, but as soon as I stop it gets very bad. How long should one use Lexamil? I have been using it for anxiety attacks, and I rarely experience it any more. I have been on Lexamil for a month now.

Lexamil contains the active ingredient Escitalopram. Based on your description it sounds like you may be experiencing severe muscle stiffness; which is a side effect that should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Side effects of Escitalopram can include:
nausea
diarrhea
constipation
changes in libido or ability
drowsiness
increased sweating
dizziness
heartburn
stomach pain
excessive tiredness
dry mouth
increased appetite
flu-like symptoms
runny nose
sneezing

More serious side effects of this drug can include:

-unusual excitement
-seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist (hallucinating)
-fever, sweating, confusion, fast or irregular heartbeat, and severe muscle stiffness

I would honestly consider switching medications or opting to try a natural alternative to this drug if the side effects become too severe. You have to think that these drugs aren't meant to cure any sort of illness, disease, or depression, but just covering it up temporarily with side effects. When it comes to depression, it's the underlying cause of it that has to be dealt with, otherwise you have to keep taking pills until you run out. I've death with severe depression for over 2 years and I know from personal experience that you have to change whatever it is that is the cause of what's making you feel so down. Everything else is just a temporary cover up to get by on a daily basis. That's the best advice I can offer.

I've been prescribed Lexamil 10mg by my GP and started on 2 July 2014 taking a 5mg dose for 5 days and then 10mg thereafter. I also take Bilocor 5mg for heart palpitation and since I've started taking the Lexamil my heart palpitation increased. Is this normal when taking Lexamil together with the Bilocor
