I'vI've had recurrent UTI infections on and off for the past 30 years. Levofloxacin saved me from the torture once I got a prescription over 15 y.o ago. If the infection is not severe I take 250 mg for 3 days and that does the trick. It works amazingly fast snd usually after the first dose I feel an instant relief from suffering of urinary infections. Very rarely I had to go through a week routine of 500 mg. Never had any problems. No tendon ruptures or other side effects and I'm a still active former ballet dancer who takes strenous classes 4-5 times a week. ## Awesome! I"m so glad that's it worked so well for you. Have you experienced any of the typical side effects that the FDA lists, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea or non-allergic skin rash? Has you...

I took a 500 mg pill around noon (levofioxacin). At 5:30p.m. I got EXTREMELY COLD. was shaking from the feet to the tips of my fingers. Had a hard time catching my breath due to the shaking. I went to bed & turned on my electric blanket as high as it would go. I shook for 30 minutes from head to toe. Once the blanket started to warm me the shaking slowly got better My feet were burning & tingling. I braced my self so hard because of the shaking my hips & shoulders are very sore. It's now 4 hour's since this started & I feel shakey & nervous. Going to call my doctor tomorrow & tell her I'm not taking anymore of this medication. I've had UTI's for several month's & they just never seem to clear up. ## Hello, Iris! How are you? I'm ac...

Desperate , well I just toke one of them only had two left. They have been stored in s cool dry place. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? Levofloxacin is an antibiotic, so it will only help if you have an infection. The problem here is that with it being expired and your having only 2 left, you're creating the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. It's never good to take an antibiotic that is expired with lowered efficacy, if an infection has not been confirmed and if you don't have enough to finish a full course of treatment. My father has a chest infection of an undiagnosed sort. The doctor prescribed a 5-day antibiotic (large white, long tablet) which I cannot recall the name of and need to -- in order to describe to the 'new' doc what my dad has taken for the problem (which has yet to cease). I do know that when I read the pamphlet, "anthrax" was listed, along with sinusitis, bronchitis, etc. for reasons the antibiotic is given. Any chance you can give me an idea of what the antibiotic might be? I'm quite sure it began with the letter "L"... Lexo... or something like that. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Was it possibly Levofloxacin? That's one that meets all the criteria that you've described. Can you please post back and let me know? Thanks!
