Just Moved From Tn To Dfw. Sending Out An Sos On Add Doc!

Updated

I just moved from Tennessee to Texas. I have been on adderall over 21 years. I am prescribed three 30 mg pills a month. Two 30 mg instant release. One 30 mg XR.

I have my RX bottles. I have the physical paper RX's (in TN they will give you three consecutive month of your prescription predated. So for example, If go to doctor quarterly and my appt was 1/13. I'm given a total of six different paper RX with fill dates: 1/13, 2/13, 3/13. Three for IR: 60 30 mg pills per month to be taken twice daily. Another three, same dates but only for the one XR pill -30 30mg pill to taken once daily.

I wasn't aware Texas law does not allow that class/ tier of drug to be filed via script from out of state doctor. My bad... CVS actually did leg work to investigate/ report me after they turned me away...guessing Texas doesn't post date scripts out to patient in advance? Anyway, the only reason I'm sure CVS spurred up something is because I got a call from my doctor in Nashville TN advising me what happened and asking some questions. I just told her what happened she said its fine and I have nothing to worry about as all was legit. It seems like CVS pretty aggressive to me, but I suppose they are just preforming due diligence. I am having trouble finding a good doctor...see the issues I've had below and you will understand why I need / will be very grateful for for any thoughts and advice.

These are doctors I picked at random from the internet and near my house. I dont know anyone in the state yet to ask so thats why I went that route.

* First doc- doesn't write Adderall. Its his policy. OK cool. I now know to ask first.

* Second doc- You're dose is way too high. Have you ever tried Ritalin? I'd not, and so at her suggestion I said sure, lets give it a try. It did nothing. I slept. No energy or focus and I only experienced extreme drowsiness.

* Third, This time made appt with actual psychiatrist instead of random GP. Although decently nice lady, she basically laughed me out of the room when she saw my dosing. She advised she would never prescribe that high a dose- wanted to give me max 40 mg IR per day....less than half what I have been on? She gave me a drug panel- clean of course. I told her this would be career suicide and she said we could evaluate. Maybe at some point she would max me at 60 mg IR a month. Like what?? New job. new city. I cant continue to ask off ONCE A WEEK for a never ending doctor appointment. All this newness is hard on a gal. I need to be mentally on my game, not asleep at the wheel. So this is why I reach out this forum and hope somebody somewhere can offer my some guidance.

Supporting information:
I have supporting medial records documenting evaluations and diagnoses from a board certified psychiatrist- this was like 20 years ago when I was in high school. lt was a very involved process that took many visits with that doc and anther one in the the group. A lot of computerized diagnostics that were supposed to time your responses or delayed response reaction to computer commands via mouse clicks and other touch related stuff- really cant even remember all of it....Just know far it was far more detailed than any of the many stories I have heard where a person waltzes into see their doc and says its hard to pay attention. Or, been told I'm hyper active, ect, blah blah.

I have insurance, have my TN written scripts combined with fill bottles in my name so they know I am not lying. I am not a drug seeker or on any watch list. Not taking any other RX meds as I am healthy other than allergies...I am allergic to the ENTIRE state of Texas apparently. I'm 38 years, 5'8/ 125 lbs, business professional lady with a new job in a new state. Can anyone recommend a DFW area Doc. I dont know anyone here to ask so I thought maybe a forum such as this might offer some hope.
