Is It Safe To Take 2 Hydrocodone 7.5-600

I have a severe toothache..took one tablet about an hour and still in pain..has helped a little but still unbearable..is it safe to take another one or do I have to wait the 3 more hours as directed?

Dear JIK, obviously we r suppose 2 take our prescriptions as directed. But, if u did take 2, it would be up 2 u. I take 2 all the time, and, so do many other people I know.

Cats68 makes a good point. While taking more than prescribed is generally not recommend, the decision would be solely up to you. I recall some past experiences where I used to take an extra one if I truly felt it was necessary for my own peace of mind during a moment of intense pain.

In my opinion, the only thing to serious thing to watch out for is having too much Acetaminophen on a regular basis. They actually lowered the max dose down to 325 mgs in these tablets as of 2014, due to an increased risk of liver damage.

Because of side effects like this, I usually try to take a more natural approach to pain relief and opt for alternative treatments that can be used as a form of adjunctive therapy.

Hi there. Because of the acetaminophen in hydrocodone, I wouldn't increase it. It does not work for my tooth pain. But, taken with a piece of toast (to prevent tummy upset) our grandmother's aspirin powders are most times a miracle, (Stanback, B/B) can be purchased over the counter at a thrifty price. Also, taken with food, Excedrin and Anacin with a cup of java or tea are effective as second choice. Will numb that horrifying pain!
