is tramacet a narcotic or opioid?..is tramacet as powerful as percocet?

Tramacet contains the active ingredients Tramadol and Acetaminophen and yes, the Tramadol is currently classified as an opiate, however, this classification has changed, several times since the medication was discovered.

It really doesn't seem to be a powerful as the Oxycodone in Percocet, though some people do get great results from it.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.

I have BIPOLAR DISORDER and very bad AADD(adult attention deficite disorder) and as a result of the two mental disorders i take alot of medication as i am a highly qualified Master Chef and without the medication i am not able to do my work and what happens is because of the medication i use i get very bad cluster and tention headaches and my doctor has put me on TRAMACET(37.5mg tramadol HCI ,325mg paracetamol) is there any other very strong pain blocker i can use to help me with the headaches i get that i can mention to my doctor i am from THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA has anyone have some suggestions for me please?

I was on an opioid for two years and finally got off of them. Then I had to have dental surgery and I mentioned the opioid that I did not want. And when I woke up the prescription was Tramacet. Does no one listen or care? This frustrates me to no end!

I so feel for you been there and suffered through this seemingness indifference or just blatant incompetence.granted effective analgesia options for painful dental or oral surgery procedures are limited there are some effective protocols that can be employed for those afflicted with primary opiate addiction issues.
Education and awarness are essential and with an escalating populas burdened with disease something has to be done to address this near epidemic confronting our countries stability.I hope this never happens to you ever again. Regards, Kenie.

Thank you for responding. I did not have an addiction and did not want one. I want to put healthy things into my system, perhaps natural... the doctors prescribe and feel this is the best, but not everyone wants that crap.

Your welcome and I truly applaud you for choosing an opiate/opiod free relief option.I wish more would aspire to this method and perhaps if professionals were better educated and or cared enough to meet the diverse needs of thier patients we wouldn't be facing an near epidemic level of opiate abuse in this country.Far to many pollute our bodies,minds and souls with these substances when effective first line relief protocols exist.These potent controled dangerous substances are best reserved for those faced with no other alternatives.That said, ITS THE DUTY OF ALL PRESCRIBERS TO ASSURE THE BEST QUALITY OF CARE IS PROVIDED and that includes the judicious prescribing of drugs relative to a patients condition.
