Chucky--you seem very knowledgeable. I am hoping that you can help me. How much damage does insuffilating the Opana do to the nasal membranes? is there much nasal pain involved with doing this? How often would you recommend doing it this way? I have never tried it, but have been tempted many times. I am at my wits end with my pain issues. It sounds as if I try the insuffilating method, I may get better pain control. Correct? Or, at least, a break from the agony.

Bryan, You talked about the Fenanyl patch lasting 72 hours. Then you wrote ( I think it's 6 hrs or less). What did mean by that last remark. I use Fenanyl and I love it. Doc your last remark refer to time each dosage in released? I was told each dosage is released every hour.

I am currently on Oxycodone 15mg - 4x daily. I have had several surgeries and just started treatment in a pain clinic. This medicine is not completely helping my pain. My dr. told me that she would give me some long term meds this next visit if the current medicine didn't help. Oxycodone works well for me but not at the current mg. My question is this, in the State of Tennessee, can I get long term meds ( Opana) if my dr. ups my Oxycodone to 30mgs - 4 times daily? Just trying to find the right mix for pain treatment. Also, where do I find the "scale" used to help with my question? Thanks

I sorry man I was like that and the only thing that worked for me was oxycontin 60mg or 80mg three or four times a day and oxyicodone 30mg for breakthru. I can't believe it has a such a bad name it was the only thing that worked for me. Opana is a joke. If you really need the pain gone it's oxycontin.Dont go below 40mg the 30mg ones seem like a placebo. Hardly any effect.

I took Oxycontin 30 mg er 2 times a day and oxycodone 30mg every 6 hours for breakthrough pain. It was not working. He just switched me to Fentanyl patches 50 mg and I change them every 72 hours (they only last about 60 hours tho. He also put me on oxymorphone 10 mg every 6 hours for breakthrough pain. This seems to help me better than what I was on. Hope this helps.

Yes there is a generic for opana er. It is Oxymorphone er I know for a fact BC my husband gets them in 10mg from Walmart Pharmacy. So yes opana er has a generic

Pain management. Normal drs are not prescribing pain pills any more, you have to go to a pain management doctor. My dr said for now on i need to go threw pain management and gave me a referral.

I was moved to Opana ER 15mg and the Opanas do not work. I've tried for two months and have the feeling I'm going thru withdrawals. They don't dissolve very well. So I would not recommend them try something different. Plus they are very expensive com to a MS Cotin. Good luck.
