Yes there is. I cannot take the real opana pills due to night sweats. But the generics do ma fine. Im in las vegas. It may be what partvof the country your based in i suppose..

Fentanyl patch, if you've been on it a while can take up to 24 hours to get relief and slowly lowers its effectiveness over the 72 hours. Dr. Told me that it drops about 2 to 5 percent ever 3 to 5 hours. But it's the best thing for chronic pain you can find easily.

one thing I can say is Opana 10 ER has no generic so it will cost u alot. I have good insurance and the copay is 54.00. Another thing is that with the 10 mg er Opana 2x a day is that it does not take nerve pain way. It is good for continuous action of taking the edge off but in no way will it relieve it completely. I live in colorado and i had to go to 5 different pharmacies to find it at all. I was taking oxycodone 10mg x2 every 4 hours and it did not touch my pain. The stomach upset with opana is much better. Oh and for break out pain colorado does not have the drug i was perscribed, it is going to arrive friday so eventhough the drug papers tell me that if i eat one or cut it up I will die (more than 3 times) I am forced to cut one tab into 8 to 10 pieces for the acute pain episodes. I am aware that my comment covers a few different issues I thought I should respond anyways. I like this medication bc many DRs thought I was drug seeking so I ended taking too many tylenol and nsaids so I have liver and kidney damage not severe though. I am grateful that I have found a Doc that wants to help me as one of the other posters mentioned. I do not think you can compare opana and oxicodone ect bc they are made to act differently so mg is a non issue. I am sure someome will call me a dipstick but I have not seen this one point mentioned before just what is stronger

My doctor has had me on oxycontin for a very long time. Went to get my script filled and no one has it and pharmacys are saying that the manufacturer is on back order, so I had my doctor write out a new script and she wore it for oxymorphone 10 mg......again, no pharmacys have it, does any one know where I can get it?

Why don't you try Methadone. Methadone remains in your body for 24 hours. It's the best pain reliever for you never feel euphoria from it. Only relief from pain. Good Luck.

In Ga you can get the generic of Opana ER 40 AND Opana 10 IR which is what I have to take for break thru. I had spinal fusion on 4 discs and major nerve damage from it. I Didn't know if I would be paralysed. It is alot stronger oxycotin but does make my head hurt at first.

I am currently prescribed oxycodone 30mg 6x daily plus morphine 30mg 2x daily for many pain issues. I have been on the oxycodone for 8 years now. I was once prescribed 15mg of morphine years ago & stopped it b/c it didnt work for me. Even though im on 30mg of the morphine now its the same its not working. I was thinking of asking if my doctor could switch my morphine to opana's. Not sure if he will but does anyone else have any suggestions? Thank you

They have newer technology that can detect what medications works best for your body as an individual. My mothers pain doctor did a DNA/(genetic) evaluation - the nurse basically swabs the inside of both her cheeks (a month later they were able to tell her which pain med works best for her without having to try this try that do this do that... Her short term IR and long term ER was showing that they both metabolized at a normal rate BUT that her Soma was rapidly metabolizing in her system making it less effective for her to be taking this medication. Zanaflex, a muscle relaxer alternative showed that her body would be more effective in helping her because the medication was found to metabolize at a normal to immediate rate. My suggestion to those who have multiple things wrong and no matter how many pain meds you take... You are always in pain... Request and or ask your doctor about having a genetic/dna evaluation done on you ASAP

If you have a tolerance for opiates then opana needs to be a higher dose. I had the fives for break out pain and tens for all day relief and they barely worked. now I am black balled frm all the pain docs in colorado springs and it is only bc I asked for something different.

You should really read previous posts. I get 15mg Opana and I would rather have 1 Opana than 3 30mg Oxys. Opi's are stronger and last MUCH longer. Oxys have a 4-6hr half-life and Opi's are around 34hrs half-life. All that being said, if I had to take it PO I would always pick the Oxy!

Medicare wil cover it if you DR does a prior authorization. I know mine did and I take it daily the real deal.
I like percoset 10 times better than oxy and they make me sleepy but he will not take one oxy away and up my percoset does to 10 a day instead of 8. My insurance or Medicare will pay for 12 A day but he says his limit is 8 to keep DEA off his back.

Been taking a combination of OxyContin 40mg 2x daily new formulation for three years along with 30mg IR Oxycodone for break thru pain 2-3x daily. Out of completely nowhere I go in and my dr discontinued the 30mg IR OXYCODONE all together and I was in bad shape he switched me to the same quantity OXYMORPHONE 10mg IR and I get no pain relief so I went in again and said it did not work so he said he will put me on 15 mg IR morphine sulfate 3x daily for BREAKTHRU and since I have to wait for that to be approved thru insurance he put me on Dilaudid 2ng three times a day and it's not working at all should I stay on Dilaudid and ask to raise the mg or should I just try this morphine IR AND POSSIBLY BE MISERABLE since I suffer from chronic pain do to a spinal thoracic lumbar fusion and a second surgery that was failed and has me in ten times more pain than I've ever been in. Idk what to do. Any advice would be appreciated thanks
