Is Dilaudid 8 Stronger Than Ms Contin 30

i take ms contin 30mg and i want something alot stronger. Is diluadid 8 the best for back back or and server pain? Is ms contin the best or is diluadid stronger and better i want something stronger i and better for pain i get 30mg of ms contin with 10mg of norco breakthrogh pain and that does not work.

yes diluadid is stronger but unless u can afford name brand i would not start taking them the detox has to be done in hospital and they are not going to make generic anymore they just stopped it has been a prob my husband is facing

just take MS Contin 200mg. it is = to 8mg.diluadid

Dilaudid is 10 times stronger than morphine. So if you are ordered 8 mg of dilaudid it is equivalent to 80mg of morphine. Keep in mind that it is immediate release. If you take 8mg of dilaudid then it is like taking 80mg of instant release morphine-not 80 mg of MS contin

I take Both and Yes Dilaudid in my opinion Can Not be beat!! The MS-Cotin 30 gives you 3mg per hour with a build Up 3+3+3 = 9mg in three hours then one 3 drops off in hour 4 as another one is released so after 3 hours your crusing on 9mg which is not that much pain relief if you have bad pain. The Dilaudid 8mg is long acting and gives Strong pain relief for at least 6 hours and dont stop working completly for at least 8 hours or more, if you hurt bad this your best choice a Very Clean Med Too !! If your intention is to Abuse be VERY CAREFUL one 8mg CAN KILL if Shot Straight in the vein, But as with any drug build up a tolerance and 16mg Shot wont hurt most persons because of TOLERANCE. Its a great pain med but start slow and low First Please.

Norco is very lame, almost completely worthless, but then I'm epileptic and it enables seizures (acetaminophen ! (It's terrible on the liver anyway!). I've been on 4 mg Dilaudid 2-4 every 3-4 hours PRN (as needed) I take it once to 3 times a day, then none for 2 or 3 days, it is a vey short working oral pill. It takes about 60 minutes to hit, and the wears off in another two! I'm certified by th=ree pydychiatrists as a completely non-addictrive personality. I guess fortunate there. Good luck and stick with the Dilaudid anyway. Get a Neurlogist to do a work-up if needed.!

Xanax is a benzo//like valium....ativan....clonopin....Xanax is probably one of the strongest of the benzo's...Buspar is a suppose to give calming effects, but is lightweight.....a 2mg. xanax is = to 30-40 mg. of valium.......Xanax is very strong and once started should never be stopped with out Dr.'s supervision.......Detox from Benzo's is right up there with H or any opiate......and detoxing to rapidly can bring on seizure or even death.......Get a PDR(Physicians desk reference)..tell all on all pills.......be careful Drugs can lead to abuse rather than therapeutic dosage!!! read about Buspar and compare to xanax//.take nothing not prescribed by ur doctor!!!.

Yes it is safe, I was put on 4mg dilodid every 3 hours while in a nursing home /rehab, from a bad fall that compromised the hardware in my back and it helped me a great deal. Hope this helps.

I was on morphine for years with the pain I have but had to go to a pain clinic a real pain in the Burt they are. But they started me on dilaudid 4 mg and after a few months they add fifty mics of central patchy and then I was getting relieve. But dilaudid did not seem to help so they did genetics test and found they don't work for me so they put me on 15mg of morphine and they do better but had to drop to a 25 mix patch and they never have me a good answer why

That is not right 200 mg of MS Contin is not = to 8 mg Dilaudid. That is not the way it works. Dilaudid is about 2-3 time stronger than Morphine.

Ive been on 60mg mophine since 2004 i need to now take my 1st 2 60mg when i wake just to get a little relief than the other 60 mg about 5pm. I m just going to switch to dilaudids im not sure what the srength would be when the turn over take place will i be happier im 62 yrs old know i just want some what is left to have some quality live ps what strength would i be expecting from 180 with my 10mg staintan to how much mg of dilaudid thx

I am in Michigan and my dr toook told me hei had to choose between MS Contin (extended release) 2 -30 mg tabs a day or 3 - 4 MG of diludid. He has become so unempathetic regarding my pain and is no longer cordial. He told me he would lose his license if he did not take me off one or the other. I don't know what to use for pain. I just don't want to suffer. I have severe chronic lumbar & coccyx pain, fibromyalgia which I take lyrics and lung cancer which I just finished radiation. He did not care if I went through with rough withdrawal. He was the kind most considerate dr before but no longer even discusses things. More so is demanding. Such a disappointment. I have not figured out which works best or is stronger.

Same problem here in Michigan! I was on morphine and diludid. Now my dr is making me choose one or the other. Says he will lose his his license. Do not know whether to use 60 MG morphine or 12 MG diludid cause I am still in pain and now going into muscle spasms. Can't get a script for muscle spasms either. I understand pressure is on them but he wouldn't even discuss which he thought would help me more. Just told me to choose. Totally has lost his bed side manner. Good luck. We lose out cause of all the addicts that do not have pain and love drugs. I only take what I need to

Have heard there is a legal suit for people who who are in pain taking pain medications. Claiming that their physicians are the ones who have got them hooked on pain medications and are now causing them problems with addiction. Interesting.

That is crap, 200mg Morphine MS Contin is not equal to 8 mg. Dilaudid. Because the Dilaudid is instant release meaning you can feel it within a few minutes. The 200 mg of Morphine MS Contin is time release meaning it is supposed to take care of the pain for at least 12 hours. So you don't get an high or numbing feeling like with the Dilaudid. But if it was where you could get 200 mg of Morphine instant release, you will probably die. It's hard to compare instant release to time release.

Is it possible to have bad reaction to morphine IV but not Dilaudid? My daughter was crying and almost screaming saying that her brain was burning.

Yes it is possible however most with a sensitivity to one will exhibit similar effects with the otherEspecially when administered IV . Dilaudid is a keytone derivative far more powerful then morphine on a wieght basis.Often times these powerful narcotics produce hallucinations and the user must be transitioned to another opiod based analgesic.Its imperative you notify the staff if symptoms like this occur as it maybe an underlying condition causing these effects and the drugs induction is merely coincidental. I am interested in the legal suit. God knows I did not get here by myself. The Dr. lost his license. I have seen 10+ so called pain Dr.'s and not one of those will prescribe. I think I have been black balled because of the Dr. I had for 20 years. I am getting by with expired RX's from the old Dr.

I take 4 mg of dilaudid, sometimes 4 or 5 so like 24 mg. and still have pain. I have a tolerance like a gorilla. Why does it not work for me?

That's great at least she found relief with something that didn't cause her such devastating side effects.Folks with little or no experience with excruciating pain will never understand the unique challenges we face In trying to best manage it .Being in the healing profession and suffering from an auto-immune disorder I feel empathy that most blessed with good health can never even fathom.You have a good evening now...

With MS Contin I do not get the high's and lows as I do with Diludid. I take MS Contin 3 times a day and do much better. I take flexeril if need be to take care of the muscle spasms I get. I get RATZ injections from my pain management physician. That is to cover lumber, coccyx and sciatica pain.

Yes the hospital staff was notified and we asked that she not be given IV morphine again. She had received IV Dilaudid before several times over many hours and after morphine but no reaction with Dilaudid. She also experienced this reaction with Imitrex I'm given for migraines.

Funny I'm going through the same thing. My pain was so bad I was screaming for hours my 30mg oxycodone wasn't even TOUCHING my pain. The hospital did a new MRI and found my herniations were so much worse and impinging on nerves. The only thing that worked for me at all was high dose DILAUDID!!! I thought I was going to die when they cut back the dose. It was a NIGHTMARE!! Fortunately the block worked.

Thank GOD they gave me a block.
