Intense Migraine
UpdatedStopped taking lyrica and I thought since my dr told me it was non addictive i would be alright. I tried being intimate with my wife and all was ok until this massive pain in the back of my head stopped me in my tracks. I thought i would die. What can I do?

Hello, Archie! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the headache.
According the NIH, any time you experience a headache like that, you should seek emergency medical attention. There is a risk that it isn't due to stopping the medication.
How much were you taking?
The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, chills, fever, diarrhea and rebound pain.
Stopping it abruptly also creates the risk of seizures and there is a type of seizure that is commonly mistaken for a migraine, so that could be what you experienced.
