I Am Taking Fentanyl Patch 75mcg/hr

I am taking Fentanyl patch 75mcg/hr. can this med cause bad pain in the rectal area including butt bones sore to the touch?

Hi Roadrunner,

You know I haven't found anything actually that directly relates to the type of symptoms you're describing, listed on the drug monograph. However the closest side effects I did see mentioned were "indigestion and abdominal/stomach pain" - which makes me wonder if this discomfort/pain could potentially spread down to that region. None the less, if it's become too bothersome or severe, it's probably something you'd want to have your doctor check out just to be on the safe side.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine also lists "body aches" under a category called 'Incidence not known':

Despite the inconclusive categorization of "body aches", my theory is that Fentanyl is responsible for the pain, as they would not list it on there otherwise.
