Hydroco Apap 7/750 Tyanol And Oxicodene Apap/5-325

whats the difference between hydrocodene 5/350 and hydrocodone 7.5/750 with tyanol?which is better for pain i had cancer and im in horrible painplease reply which is stronger and better the 5/325 doesnt seem to work but the 7.5 wwith 750 tyanol i heard its bad for liver which one is for sevre pain

what is the difference between hydrocodone /apa 7.5.750 tyanol and oxicodene /apap 5-325 my doctor switched to 7.5 /750 tyanol and i heard it can ruin your liver.i had cancer surgary with my eyes closed and swollen and stiches on my cface and threw up .becasue of pain which 1 is s tronger need a answer as soon as possible

The first number refers to the number of miligrams of narcotic (hydrocodone, in this case) and the 2nd number the miligrams of acetaminophen (Tylenol). You should not take more than 4 grams (4000 mg) of acetaminophen in 24 hours, and long term use high doses of acetaminophen can lead to liver toxicity. If you are requiring higher doses of narcotic you may want to ask your doctor about "norco" which comes in a 10/325 tablet, thus higher narcotic but lower acetaminophen.

That is correct, both of the products you mentioned contain Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, which is a narcotic analgesic.

And as was already stated, the Acetaminophen can cause liver problems with long-term use, of high amounts.

No one addressed the second drugs narcotic. Oxycodone is stronger than Hydrocodone, and falls in the class of most stringently controlled by the DEA meds, Schedule II. As Schedule I are illegal, and Hydrocodone is Schedule III. and the second # is APAP (Tylenol). You were given a stronger narcotic with less APAP.

Actually 7.5 mg of hydrocodone is roughly equivalent to 5 mg of oxycodone. Oxycodone is considered to have a higher abuse/addiction potential, hence the schedule II desigation (vs. schedule III for moderate abuse potential). When given in dose equivalent amounts some people will respond better to one vs. the other. And likewise some people will tolerate side effects from one better than the other. When chosing a apap combination medication the total dose of the APAP has significance that is (rightfully) gaining recognition and is an important consideration.
