How To Get Off Suboxone (Page 4)

Updated

Im Marina Im 24 years old and a mother of 2 beautiul little boys. From the years 2006-2007 i was heavily addicted to Oxy 80 and eventually started doing herion. I got help in sep.2007 at a methadone clinic, it worked for as long as i was on the methadone i had NO relapse's. In June 2009 i was completly off of the methadone that first day that i was on 0Mgs I went through extreme withdrawls i went through things that i would never wish upon my worst enemy! i stayed that way for a day and a half and decided to go to a suboxone doctor. He put me on 32 mgs a day which i thought was pretty high of a dose but he explained to me that methadone withdrawls was worst then any other withdrawls. so i trusted him. Now when i go to see him every month i pretty much beg for him to start the weining process and start lowering me and he pretty much refuses. After months of being on 32mgs a day he finally started tapering me down slowly, i never really thought any thing of it till now but i realized he's keeping me on the suboxne for as long as posible so that he can get my $200.00 a month. all he is, is a legal drug dealer bc now im highly addicted to the suboxone. I recently had to go a few days with out my suboxone bc i didnt have the money to see him and i went through hell. i thought methadone withdrawl was bad OMG there is no comparison. i wanted to either use which i havent done in years or rip my face off lol its funny now but it definatley wasnt funny a few days ago while i was feeling that way! So i spoke to a good friend whos going through the same thing and he told me that they just came out with a new pill to get you off suboxone. I just want to know if that's true. I tryed googleing it but i cant find any thing. If you have heard of this new pill please respond or if you even have a good way to get off soboxone as painless and posible... thanx

I just finished my second bundle of rocket fuel and it's not even 3 o'clock yet....tried making an appointment at a rehab clinic this morning and they couldn't get me in for 3 months. That was the 23rd place I tried. Don't ever get addicted to anything in NYS because it's impossible to get help. I'm just gonna OD and call it a life I give the f*** up man

Take a look online for more krantom info. Krantom really helps bridge the gap from suboxone to cold turkey. Once you stop suboxone the withdrawls are pretty bad and tapering with Krantom was a life saver. And your right that I do know a lot about getting off of suboxone because I had to live on it and actually get off. I've also helped a lot of my friends. I don't think anyone can give true credible advice unless you've gone through it. Suboxone is just too complex compared to all other opiated.

As far as where to get Krantom-- Your local smoke shops might have it but you don't smoke it. Check out info below!

Opiate detox
Kratom can lessen the severity of withdrawals with causing little itself. This gives it a huge advantage over modern treatment methods involving such drugs as . Though it is not fully known as to how Kratom eases , there are some likely reasons. tend to bind to mu and delta opioid receptors in the brain. This is the reason that users experience the powerful euphoric effects. The , however, is a result of the binding that occurs with the mu opioid receptors. Kratom's active alkaloids tend to bind only with the delta opioid receptors, and this binding action causes little, if any, addiction. It is possible that a small amount of binding occurs with the mu receptors, but this would be at a level to low to cause moderate addiction. Some claim that the mu binding action can increase if large amounts of mitragynine are consumed, but this is not clear.

Kratom as a Opiate substitute
Since Kratom affects the brain much like ; Kratom has been a popular opiate substitute in some parts of South-East Asia. Many opium addicts in Thailand are reported to chew Kratom leaves if opium is not available. In most cases, Kratom is just used as a substitute until more can be acquired, though some users do combine the two drugs.

Can you help me with how I can get off of Sub. Been on it 2 weeks at 16mg a day. Thanks so much.

to do a real taper of subs you would actually have to disolve in water and reduc to less than 1mg...everyone is different so i don't want to say you can't but I think that at that level you will be in withdrawls that is why I think you need a bridge like Krantom. Please let me know if you are ok by getting less than 1 mg and still no withdrawls. I have heard that 12-15 pills of immodium(lopermide) can really help reduce withdrawls. I know it works for paws because of personal experience but think it can help someone up front if they haven't been on it very long and for certain body types

Grace, I wouldn't mind going to the dr. for sub treatment, but around here it's $250 an office visit, plus the cost of the pills, $7.50 here. I live on $760 a month, I do think that would take most of my check, I cannot work due to a work related injury, waiting for workers comp to make up their mind if I am eligible for compensation. By the time I pay my monthly bills, I hardly have enough for toilet paper, shampoo, etc. let alone food. I don't know what that is anymore. I have 1daughter, she just got evicted from her home, so she's not much help, otherwise no one to turn to. Live a day in my shoes, Grace. Right now I'm so sick, can't keep anything down, got the runs, i only weigh 110 lbs. I've lost over 35 lbs. since this suboxene. I want off, I have very little left, just taking very small pieces till they are gone and then see what happens. Maybe u have money but I sure don't, so don't tell me not to get off them on a fast taper. It's the only thing I can do.

Cookie, don't be so rude. The info grace gave you is spot on accurate. It's not her fault you got addicted and your financial situation, while sad, is not her fault either. What she said is fact.

As far as Kratom goes, do some research on that before you invest in another drug (with ZERO regulations) that people are having a hard time getting off of. Kratom is another highly addictive substance.

I feel for you as I've been there, probably was worse off than you. I'm not proud to say it but I was consuming 800-1,000 mgs of Roxie's per day- for several years. I got on suboxone, worked on my recovery, and tapered off subs EXACTLY as grace described (no, I don't know her/him or who she/he is) and had zero withdrawals or PAWS. That's after trying to quit the roxies literally hundreds of times. Tough situation you're in but rule #1 when you find yourself in a hole is stop digging. Buying Kratom from some snake oil salesman on the Internet is the equivalent of digging yourself in deeper.

I am not a rude person, nor an addict, I got caught up in a pain clinic's bull----. All of a sudden they weren't there any longer. So the only thing I thought was to get Subs, not knowing anything about the cost and the problems. I am almost done tapering. But very sick. I may have sounded rude , but that was not my intention. Just want to get off these subs and be a normal person.

Please email me how to get off of subs. Im desperate. Looking for a way out been on subs for over 5 years was a hardcore H addict before that shooting up bundles a day. Never want any opiates of any kind ever again after this. I will even go back to taking an oxy or something just to get off of subs then be done.

I feel your pain and It is harder than anyone realizes. You need to definately deal with the symptoms your feeling. Do you have a doctor you can go to and have him help with this... I'm not reffering to any benzo's, or opiates... simply treatment to deal with the Nausia, Shakes, Leg Kicks, Sleeeping etc.... there needs to be some relief while you go through this.

Cookie,
I understand, and it's tough going thru this. You said you were only on subs a short period of time- and you were tapering almost immediately right? I read how low you've gotten- that's amazing. GREAT job!!! Is it possible that you're still feeling withdrawals from your DOC? I don't think you ever mentioned how deep you were into it- or I never read it.

I know for me, everybody's different, but when I tried to quit opiates the PAWS went on for months & months. Subs really helped me get thru them by allowing me to taper. I could never do that on the Roxie's. The way my sub doc explained it to me was that the pain I was feeling was my brain literally rewiring itself. A long slow sub taper got me thru that.

I know you've got to get off the subs, but maybe you're thru the worst of it? I hope so. You've done great with your taper. It does get better

NoGroovin, I am way down on the subs and only have 2 left, I am so nauseous and have the diarhera, I can hardly eat. I can't afford to go back to the sub dr. and my family dr. knows nothing about subs, really he don't know nothing about nothing but I have an appt. with my mental health dr. next week, I just might ask what to do how long am I going to feel so sick to my stomach and sooooo cold, it's 82 here and I've got 3 sweaters on. I'm ready to jump off a bridge. I don't know how much longer I can do this. Thanks so much for your post, and God bless you.

It sucks, the worst thing you can do is give up. You either have to commit to getting clean, or realize you will be playing the "on the hunt for drugs" game every day. I was on oxy 80s (3x/day) and 10mg opana ir (3x/day) for a year. roxi 30s (3x/day) for 8 months after that...heroin, $200/day. Subs helped a lot. For a week i took an 8mg strip, then 2 weeks i did half a strip a day, than half of that for about 2 months. I started back on 15s and now i can either take one pill a day or not, no sickness. What did it for me was thinking of how proud people who loved me would be if i quit. You can do this, it will get worse before it gets better...but once it gets better, it will be worth it. good luck!

Cookie, when you see your dr ask him about clonidine. It's a blood pressure med that is often used to help treat opiate withdrawals. It won't eliminate your symptoms totally, or put you to sleep, but it really is a big help- especially during the stage you are.

You're doing great. Keep it up. It's gonna get better every day now

Thank you so much, I guess I just need some inspiration, sometimes I feel so sick I just want to die. I'm down to 1/2 of a 1/4, just a tiny piece, I'm going to try to take it every other day. See what happens. Thanks again. God bless you.

oh yeah, another thing that helps...you have to set a goal for yourself. without a goal, its hard to measure your progress. with addiction, you gotta take it slow. dont see your progress as how many days, but how many hours you have gone through, then put it together. every minute you toss and turn, throw up, ache...is one minute closer to being clean and free. hope it helps

NoGroovin, are you off opiates now? You seem to know so much, and I appreciate all the info. I'm trying so hard. I want to be normal. I want to enjoy life, not relying on meds. You have helped me so much and I thank you very much. You seem to be a very caring person. God bless you.
