My doc prescribed 10mg ambien for and 50mg trazadone 1st nite, 1 ambien 110mg. 2nd nite and 1 ambien and 150mg trazadone 3rd nite . I stopped after third nite amd having 3 nites of insomnia . How long will insomnia last? I am going thru perimenopause so doc said I could take up to 150 mg trazadone and 10 mg ambien if needed.

There is really no way for us to say how long your insomnia issues may last. It could be caused by the condition you are going through, stopping the medications, a reaction to the medications, some other health problem of a combination of any of these.
The Trazodone should actually should actually cause drowsiness, along with dry mouth, headache and nausea.
The Ambien is used for the short-term treatment of insomnia.
Have you spoken to your doctor about the problem, again?

In all honesty I don't know how you could take the trazodone at that high of a milligram because it honestly makes you feel like you're dragging your ass excuse my language in the morning and gives you a hangover in the morning and it does knock you out but only in that window period of when you take it and if you don't fall asleep in 30 minutes that's the window period Your going to be up all night So if you take it at 10:30 and you don't fall asleep before 11 you're going to be staying up for the whole entire evening trust me I've gone through it I can honestly say that Ambien would be the best thing for you forget about the Trazodone and take the Ambien Ambien works wonders for sleeping it really truly does I was put on Ambien and I slept fine I was put on Trazodone before Ambien and if I didn't fall asleep in the first half hour I had restless leg syndrome and I could not sleep at all I hope that helps take care and God bless

Ambien is a great drug to help you sleep to stay sleeping and not feel groggy in the morning like you have a hangover something whenever I've taken the trazodone I feel like I'm dragging my ass the next day I can't get myself out of my bed on a 50 mg trazodone nevermind 150 that's a lot one 10 mg Ambien should be fine but if your tolerance is higher then do what you should do if those two work together for you then I hope it works for you good luck

I agree about the trazadone I don't see how anyone could take 150 mg and be remotely coherent the next day wow! Not I 50mg gave me draggin ass syndrome the next day excuse my language. But everyone is different if it works great.

If you have that much of a problem sleeping them I'm sorry to say id's going to continue until you stay on the right medication. I would recommend AMBIEN 10 MGS. BEFORE U GO TO SLEEP. GOD LOCK GOD BLESS TINA
