I became a pain patient after I fell off a horse in March of last year and sustained spinal injuries which are still VERY painful. Opana ER was the first thing doctors gave me that helped at all and now that they have changed the formula I'm in a lot more pain. I want to break down the formula so I can insufflate it, as I am told I may get more pain relief and increase bioavailability of the drug. The new formula hardly offers the same pain relief, Please help me!

Well just tryed the cooking method n so far not really feelin it. Got a lil sumthing but may b placebo at this point. Hope its not but we shall see. Thank for all the advice everyone.

Snorting is not illegal. Ask any cop. He said I could take my meds however I wanted to as long as they were mine legally, I could stick them in my but if I wanted.

The reason it works so well to stick the pills up ur anus is because the blood capillaries are very thin there and the meds go into ur blood stream o-most like you are banging them in the vein with a syringe. That's the same reason why HIV was thought to b spread by homosexuals in the late 80's...

There is a generic to Opana, made by Global... It is the same as the Opana before they reformulated it to be tamper proof. It's the basic Oxymorphone HCL.....

Hi VK if you still visit here. My wife is now on the way to what we all are to familiar with. Starts PM for her knees. One is full of cysts and bone spurs. The other needs replacement. Poor girl can barely walk at times and sleep is hard to come by. Hope your health is good and see this forum has gone back to some of its old ways! Take care. Bob

SOMEONE ........ please tell me if another company other than Endo make Opana ? I am desperately searching for a generic version or a brand that is NOT " reformulated." They have reformulated the bioavaiability down to a shameful 10%

I know, there have been hundreds of answers (to a question I can not, as, much as I would love to, oxymorphone is only licenced as an analgesic for human use in one country & I do not live there. Neither can I find any pharmacy or private vendor who will send this interesting drug to the UK.
Firstly Pj, who are you to question any patient's motive for wishing to use the nasal route? I have been on oxycodone now since 2001/2 & occasionally hydromorphone as a "change of scenery" & a chance to regain oxycodone tolerance levels; I find that with BOTH of these meds if I insufflate I get a far more rapid onset of action, a higher level of analgesia and duration is not shortened by much. Both Oxynorm and Palladone IR capsules are perfect for this route. Bioavailability IS BETTER when these two are snorted and the figures are widely published. I do NOT do it to 'get high' but to achieve the best analgesia. Take the iron rod out of your fundament and realise that it is the truth, incontrovertible, that putting the contents of those capsules up the hooter is a better way of getting the maximum analgesia from them.
Secondly, having had the misfortune to try OxyPontin (those awful pretend OC sold in the US) I can confirm also that they give about half the effect of real ones as the rest of us use. Furthermore they cause gastric problems and headache and can not be insufflated for best analgesia. The answer is to change immediately to a brand which is not plastinated or to demand instant release four daily in place of ER twice.
Surely anybody with any sense would do that rather than messing around with good drugs which have been ruined by the pharmaceutical company that made those abominations.

Thank you so much for this post. I came onto this site to find a way to get the opana to work quicker and to provide the relief I need. Like everyone who comes onto these sites, I have a story and can get into the tragedies that brought me to this point, but this is not the appropriate forum. Instead, I will say that my doctors have performed 5 surgeries to my back and my pain relief efforts went through almost every possibility until now that I take 40 mg of opana, 60 mg of percocet, 30 mg of flexiril, ativan and lunesta each day to allow me to continue to work and function successfully at work. But instead of looking for ways to abuse my medication, I am going to talk to my doctor on Monday. He has always been supportive and understanding and has never ignored my complaints.

Spoken like a true stereotypical judgemental attitude. How can anyone accurately presume to know the severity or level of someone else's pain & comdemn or judge the means they're willing to resort to for some relief. If your dose is one pill & you're taking one pill, why would anyone care how you administer it? I've learned a lotv from this site & definitely plan to try some of what I've gleaned. Ty

I have multiple sclerosis & have severe chronic pain. I've been using 125mcg fentanyl patches & oxycodone ir for breakthrough pain. My insurance carrier, in their infinite wisdom, has changed policy & now will only pay for the patch if opana er has been prescribed first. I may only have to use the opana for a month but a month of lessened pain relief is NOT inviting. Is there another drug company other than Endo that make this drug? Surely there is a generic version. IDK .... I just know these are DEFINITELY not effective. Additionally, my goal is significant pain relief so I can function & enjoy some simbilance of a quality life. H E L P !!!

I have the same problem they are not as strong as they used to be by far.what I do is {edited for safety reasons} it will definitely work I've been doing this for a year have fun

hello all this is my first post but I have a lot to share i have had 17 surgeries and am still looking forward to a shoulder replacement partial for now docs won't do total cause I am only 51 have had 3 new left hips arthritis in my back so I must take all kinds of crap. Neurontin works for the tingling in my fingers from eight shoulder dislocations but I have switched to just oxycodone 30mg the Oxycontin just don't work well enough to justify the cost. My doc calls me humpty dumpty we just laugh. He says at least I can still do that. One thing that nobody can break is my sense of humor , the wife tries like hell though, as far as seeing tablets in your poop that is normal and they tell you about that or should in the patient info guide. question is there a way to make these Opana ER sniffable without getting goo on my shoe. I have my son step on the slugs can't do that here. LOL

Bob checking in here. Hows everyone doing? VK, been a long time since chatting. Been going through months of a hard time getting meds. Walgreens won't order in meds in si Doc put me intouch with a private owned pharmacey who now I just drop of scripts and done deal. If meds fall due on a Sunday which he's closed Doc cuts meds early. So much better than chain stores Everyone have a good fourth!!

I believe he used a bit more fluids than posted . Mine got really clear as well and slimy I added a bit more water. And more afrin juice .... niw I have my little bottle sitting in a cup of hot water to try and bind everything over night ....
