How To Snort The New Formula Opana Er (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I became a pain patient after I fell off a horse in March of last year and sustained spinal injuries which are still VERY painful. Opana ER was the first thing doctors gave me that helped at all and now that they have changed the formula I'm in a lot more pain. I want to break down the formula so I can insufflate it, as I am told I may get more pain relief and increase bioavailability of the drug. The new formula hardly offers the same pain relief, Please help me!

Pfffft...maybe with a weak streamed compromised immune system desk sitter... usually a working man moving fluids through his body via endocrine system doesn't have "product" sitting in his nose collecting bacteria and what little he does is killed off by your average white blood vessel.

O-Pain-A

Are you taking brand label Opana or generic?

I agree 100% with your post. I have been taking Opana ER 40mg name brand for years. I was recently switched to the generic equivalent (manufacturer is Actavos EL) and when I am at a 9 on the 1-10 pain scale, I like having the ability to take it in other ways that it was not prescribed. People who experience chronic, long term, high levels of pain will agree. As long as it isn't insulfated on a daily basis and is only used for those ocassions when the pain is so unbearable that all you can do is cry and lay in bed, I have no issue with it. I have to do whatever I can to function in life and still be able to work.

i disagree, being totally and permanently disabled with a bone growth on my spine growing around my nerves and having almost paralizing nerve damage, needing a cane or wheelchair to get around, etc etc. I can say that some medications do work better for my pain if taken in a different manner. NOT ALL, FRANKLY MOST DONT, but there are the few that do. Not everyone has the same pain, same amounts of pain and are genetically wired to recieve pain medications the same. So PLEASE dont lump everyone into a drug seeker category, i broke my back in 3 spots, fractured my hip in a terrible accident at 32 and that is all i heard was that i was a pain seeker, until the correct test were done, like the proper mri and nerve study. Yes there are ALOT of drug seekers wanting to feel HIGH and it PISSES ME OFF everyday because it makes it harder for those of us needing the correct medications and treatments to get the relief we desperately need. But everyone is different, they do genetic tests now to see what type of pain medication will work best for you. I'm still up in the air over this as what was recomended for me was something i had tried and did not work, however if i were to have taken it in a different way it would've been more helpful. just saying

What's illegal? No one said anything about buying them illegally. They simply stated what they cost per pill... Maybe that's what they cost at his pharmacy... JS

Unfortunately, for the true seeker of pain relief, addicts are the best actors ever! An addict has one goal in mind & I promise you has studied up on this perceived malady. Sometimes psychosomatic pain will actually kick in. Now, we can't totally renounce the DEA.

I'm a chronic pain patient, and I side with the original poster. Anyone who says a person who administers their meds differently only wants to feel high and doesn't use for legitimate pain relief is an i****, and obviously isn't in our situation. Second, anyone who tries to discourage a person seeking more effective pain relief by telling them that a particular method doesn't do anything or will kill you is also an i****, and wrong. I've been prescribed every pain med there is over my life due to a car accident when I was young. I'm currently on Opana ER, the Activas brand, which fortunately CAN be administered in other ways than prescribed. Due to tolerance build up and increased pain levels, I HAVE to take my pills differently to get any pain relief. Taking them orally doesn't do a thing, and there is no other medication stronger than this prescribed, so this is the only option for myself, and many others. I don't look to feel high, I look to relieve my pain so I can function throughout the day. I've been doing this for years and have no I'll effects or negative anything. It's not gonna ruin your smell or taste or anything like that, that's bull. I will admit I'm sure there are people who just want to feel high, there always will be. But this person is asking about a legitimate pain condition and trying to more effectively relieve his pain, which I completely understand. So my advice to the poster is to ask around different pharmacies and see if any carry the Activas brand of Opana ER. They will help your pain much better, and don't have those plastic filler crap in them that the rock hard unbreakable versions contain. Good luck.

Best wishes to all! But whatever you do, please don't take Suboxone. It an evil drug & coming of it has 2% success rate.

The bioavailability has nothing to do with the binders and fillers. It has to do with the route of administration and first pass metabolism. If your route bypassed the liver, the bioavailability will increase.

Snuff is still sold today and was in wide use by the elite in the 1800s. Snuff is tobacco powder originally. Later it became the redneck chewing gum. Any extended release pill is mad for just that slow release into the body via your intestines. ER meds need to be slowly risen in dosage until it controls your pain. If your a pain patient you probably won't feel 10mg of opana regardless of how you take it. Thing to do is to have your doctor raise your dosage it. With er meds it takes a while to achieve what you could get much quicker from instant release versions. I'm talking about relief with less side effects. Ers mainly cause severe constipation and are over priced to say the least. Yes its junkies abusing meds that they say is the reason we are all being forced on to er meds. Its horse s*** that the majority of people getting meds need them to make this life bearable. The society that changes meds with more dangerous and less effective meds to hopefully combat a few junkies from abusing them are a bunch of self righteous a**holes that don't know their own a**holes from a whole in a wall. Heil the dea, and heil to all the policy makers that have allowed the pharmaceutical companies to fleece the average pain patient in the name of their overall best. All Hypocrites and blind followers of their policies be damned to hell.. A.k.a being a pain sufferer. It would serve them all right.

I used to be an addict but I've been clean for a year now and I gotta say it's really dumb of you to say that about ppl abusing them because like it or not your not taking them as prescribed. your misusing them therefor your abusing them. Your one of those ppl who can't look at themselves in mirror like you just described. Your in love with these pills just as much as anyone else so stop kidding yourself

Thank you much for the info. I'm now on the DR oxymorphone as well as the IT which the IR works better being it's not the sludge. I have been trying to get the generic ER with no luck. But I guess I need to have a talk with my pain management doc. Cus I believe my OR version is generic.

Another damn moralistic projection. Maybe you want to feel high but most pain patients are severely under medicated. Feeling relief from pain is enough of a "high" for most chronic pain patients. If you knew anything about chronic pain, you would understand that severe pain prevents us from feeling high in most cases.
