How To Snort The New Formula Opana Er (Page 18)

Updated

I became a pain patient after I fell off a horse in March of last year and sustained spinal injuries which are still VERY painful. Opana ER was the first thing doctors gave me that helped at all and now that they have changed the formula I'm in a lot more pain. I want to break down the formula so I can insufflate it, as I am told I may get more pain relief and increase bioavailability of the drug. The new formula hardly offers the same pain relief, Please help me!

To NCBOY AND readers..;)

Ncboy, I know what you were trying to say, it just comes across differently to others..Im glad you came on this board and let it all out, some times we have to do that and I truly believe you were not singeling out anyone, just stating what happened to you, your thoughts about it, and not wanting to see anyone else go through it if they didnt need to, and I feel its kind..I would like for everyone to be able to express how they feel, its America and sometimes we all need to just let it out, I know I do...

I may have come across as someone who is doing "Perfect" now and I can honestly say I have never felt better in my life since I have found alternatives to pain and off narcotics, but I know its not always possible for everyone, and I wish it was....I had some ruff roads myself and some I havent discussed, but I give you credit for coming out and being truthfful to us and yourself, its sooo such a big start to making the difference we all may want to make..;)
I know we all dont start with one pill bottle and plan on being addics, its a chemical balance in our brain that causes the addictive personality, then it goes to the physical dependency for addiction, so their both working with one another..There are people who can take meds and never get addicted, and BOI, dont we all wish we could have that ability, but we all dont...and once we get a taste of a certain addiction, its extremely hard to fight it, thats why as you stated, it ruins many peoples lives in different ways..
So i dont look down on you for expressing your thoughts and feelings to complete strangers, sometimes it is easier than to the ones we love or care for...I dont want anyone to feel judged on here, because its where we can listen and talk..I just dont condone expressing how to abuse drugs because it just helps others to get further into addiction, not relief..There are many that do have to do something for the pain, not all can suffer that would be a lifestyle no one would want, we just want to give advice and thoughts to help them maintain a better life, not make it worse..;)) Hi to everyone, and how is things going????

Oh Vktoria... Thank you for being...well...you! You express yourself so eloquently and with such kindness, grace and tact! I wish I had more of that, as I could certainly use it!
To Ncboy... I apologize for being so rude(a jacka**) and judgemental! I was too quick to say something without completely thinking about what you said. Your post is about your story, and the concern that others don't make your mistakes, not about being against opiate use... Which, at the time, was my poorly conceived interpretation... Please forgive my behavior! And I apologize to everyone else, one should be free to post "most" anything without being jumped on! -Brian

*** Vktoria...I had my second opinion, regarding surgery, and decided to see if having some epidural steroid injections would help enough to delay being cut on! I am having the first of a series tomorrow(Thursday)... Will let you know how they helped in a few days...

There is now a generic opana. Just came out. Its like the old Endo stop signs. Have your Dr. prescribe these. You can now get back to old times.

TO: CHRONIC PAIN...;)

your are a very kind man, and its ok we all have days like that and you know what....You are a HUGE, SWEET, ADORABLE, KIND, GREAT MAN...for apologizing on your post, and seeing things differently is a huge step forward for you, looking back on your previous pasts....I AM VERY VERY PROUD OF YOU BRIAN....;) You have not taken baby steps, you have taken YETTY steps, lol...;))

Please let me know how the injections went, you will probably be a bit sore from them, they have to go pretty deep with a gauge size needle large to administer that medicine, but you will start to notice a difference I am sure on day 3 for sure my friend..;)

I will pray for you tonight, A prayer never hurts...And just one more thing, I am going back in for surgery early February to have my medicine pump moved down in my belly...Because my stomach muscles are so tight, it moved way up just under my right rib cage now and it is starting to hurt, so their moving it back down and sewing into my abdominal muscle so I can continue to work out, yeh....shouldn't be a bad surgery though..

Ok, good luck, and let me know how your doing ok..;)

To Vktoria:
My rt. lumbar epidural steroid injection didn't go well at all... :-( He hit near a nerve and it was painful...I could hardly walk... I've had lots of these over the years, and they have always gone well... I am still miserable, although about 20% better. Uggg! Oh well, guess it could be much worse! Hope you have a good weekend!
Take care, Brian

TO BRIAN..

Hello friend, I am sorry to hear it was more painful than the others, but if you think of it, injections anywhere in the spinal area are gonna hurt, some places more than normal only because you may have more muscle strain to go through at certain areas, so with the tightness and resistance, it can be more painful than other injection areas..Dont get to discouraged, give it a few days to work it thing..;) Is it all possible your doctor can give you a sedative or knock you out for the procedures? My doctor does this for me because I know how your feeling and the pain we experience during the injections..The knowing it is going to happen will cause us to tense up immensily so it makes it a more painful and a few days longer to feel the effects because of our lovely normal reactions, but common...who wouldnt tense up for those procedures right?? Lol So with the sedative or being knocked out, this illiminates that and can make it quicker to work, the cortisone i mean..;)) maybe see if they offer it Brian? I get knocked out in the office, had it a few times in my cervical and lumbar and hips and no more without the sedative or knock me the F@&$ out..lol

Also, Im not sure where you live but the cold can affect this from working faster too.. If you have a heating pad put it on the injection area or a nice hot shower for about 10 minutes..This will loosen your muscles up and if there is someone to lye you down on your belly side, right after your shower, have them rub the injection site and within the area..This will get the medicine to do it thing much faster, not to say feel good at the same time..;)) a muscle relaxant will help as well if you have any but if not, that will do just as well for you too Brian..

Give it a few more days Brian, thank you for letting me know how it went, im sorry it sucked, lol but it will help..;)) Kepp your head up, have a good weekend and rest if you can...keep in touch ok, and do what I said to do...lol jk...

To Vktoria: I live in San Antonio, Texas...
My doc does offer Versed as a sedative for the procedure. But, I don't get it, cause it doesn't really make much of a difference...plus arranging a ride is a hassle!
So, I just have them "cold turkey", and they do hurt like hell most of the time... The benefits usually outweigh the pain, so it is worth it... Am feeling about 40% better today, but it is still pretty uncomfortable... I have never had this type of problem before... I don't like it either!
My old doc used to knock me out with Profolol...that's the stuff that Michael Jackson was being given when he died... It was nice to go to sleep, get injections, and then wake up and go home...he let me take a taxi home...my current doc won't allow that! It has to be someone you know...
My old doc has been in a lot of trouble... State medical board gave him hell and sanctions, cause he was prescribing narcotics to a known drug addict, which is + allowed in Texas, except by a hospice doc. He also caused someone to get brain damage during a steroid injection, by giving them to much Profolol and they got hypoxia. Glad I got a new doc when I did!
BTW..why is your name spelled so differently?
Anyway... TTYL

Hi Brian..Well since we cannot send these messages anywhere else, why not get to know the ones we talk to often a bit more? ;)

Ok, My name I was born with was VICTORIA...I then married a Police Officer named Steve who was just like Many others, mbut not all...He was a bad police officer who felt he was not only powerful in the squad car, but even more at home with his wife...(smh).. so I began to spell my name vktoria About the fifth year into my marriage, and every time I used my name that was in spelling or text, he would do and say nothing positive to me, how much of amlooser I was, a child, a baby, and that he should of married into better because he thought I was "STRANGE, DIFFERENT"..

My strange and different is true, but not in the text or ways he taught me...;( So I stood my ground and stuck with the name VKTORIA because this was the woman whom I saw strong, who didnt want pills to numb my pain, but also my marriage to such a mean man all around..Vktoria was who I WAS GOING TO BE...And I made her come true on AUGUST 12, 2008.. that is the day VKTORIA became the strongest person and had only positive drives from that day forward, and nothing was going to stop me..In court that day on my divorce from my Husband..so EX, I had asked that the judge spelled out my request of a legal name change to...V.K.T.O.R.I.A, and I replied...YES YOUR HONOR...And at that split moment when my ex husband looked at me with sommuch anger because I did that, and The judge said, "Your new name change of VKTORIA is Granted" I whispered to my ex husband who was close to me and I said....

"YOU WILL NEVER HAVE CONTROL OVER VICTORIA AGAIN"...

So that was one of the best days of my life, because he could do nothing about it no more, and it was the best feeling Brian...

So being VKTORIA is my new beginning in life, I am different, I may be a bit Krazy sometimes, but I am the happiest I have ever been, and its because I truly know who I am now, my potentials, and I look forward to every day knowing I can face anything and still hold my head hhigh up and say..."I will never give up, its never too late." So here I am, talking to fine people on here, and I really enjoy it, because I know they all want a good life for them selves as well..;)

I am an RN and work with cancer patients. If you try to snort opana or any addictive pain medication you run a terrible risk of destroying your nasal septum, sinuses and killing yourself . If you try to shoot it up you'll get life threatening infections and destroy your kidneys. Don't do it! It's a pill for a reason.

To: RN..;)

I was a professional in the medical field as well, and have stated the dangers of what the snorting will do to someones sinuses and septum as well, its a scary thought and would be very painful if that happened..;(

Were on this post and many are trying to work on problems or concerns they may be having in their lives, and many are working hard on it too..;)

Its nice to have another medical professional state their concerns besides myself, and their well aware of the dangers I think? Keep up the great work and trying everyone...;) Have a great day!!! ;))

jHi everyone. I have a "syndrome" known as Sjogren's Syndrome...if you look it up it sounds like not much..just someone who suffers from dry eyes and dry mouth...aha! read on...that is Sjogren's in it's most basic form. It's a relative of Lupus and it's considered a syndrome because it encompasses a whole bunch of autoimmune illnesses...I have had very painful peripheral neuropathy in my feet and legs, my ankles swell like baseballs sometimes that they hang over my sneakers! And of course, my feet are always numb. Numb I can deal with. However when something like neuropathy puts you in a wheelchair because the pain of walking is so excruciating, then there's a need for pain intervention. The only doctors who are trained to deal with Sjogren's are rheumatologists...Phew...well, when I first was wheeled into his office he took more blood out of me then I thought I had...gave me a prescription for MS-Contin...a medium mg. dosage...and told me to come back the following week. Anyway..the MS-Contin did nothing...absolutely nothing...except keep me awake all night. Even my nighttime tranquilizer would not help me sleep. Ok..Long story short....I'm diagnosed with Sjogrens with the addition of peripheral neuropathy, (he had also sent me for a bone density test and sure enough tested positive for major osteoporosis), ack....the list goes on...but bottom line there was one drug to treat the osteoporosis ( a shot called Forteo) that I had to take every day for 2 years...My 2 years were up last year ... I still have the most severe spinal pain on some days...and it's creeping NORTH not South...so it's not lower back pain...In any event I have 8 diseases that are only a few that make up Sjogren's. He prescribed every narcotic in the world...and I never reacted to one of them. And he was no longer fooling around with low dosages either. I would come back to see him and bring my entire NEW vial and say, well, hear ya go doc, the Rx is short 2 pills...nothing!" Then last year he prescribed Opana ER...Of course I had no expectations nor did he...Well...whatever the one chemical difference is...BINGO! It worked...and it ccontinued to work....It has never failed me. However, I cannot fall asleep with it no matter what I do. I'm very fortunate that for some reason I have never experienced drug withdrawal from any narcotic or tranquilizer. Very fortunate...So...now if ONLY I'm in extreme extreme pain will I take a pill. And just plan to watch a lot of Netflix for the night and the next day! lol But, fortunately we now know I can be out of pain if necessary...So the lack of sleep is just lack of sleep...and I make up for it when the Opana finally leaves....and I only take 1 pill and it last for 36 hours!! Weird...just Weird. lol

I also don't really suffer from any withdrawals, I have a host of auto immune diseases, severe Crohn's Disease (multiple surgeries, every pill imaginable) but b/c of my bone failure syndrome I can't take biologics b/c I fight neutropenia constantly and anemia and thanks to the steroids now severe osteoporosis and it is incredibly painful I know. I have suffered multiple fractures, is the Forteo working for you? Do you give yourself the shots, and are they IM or subcutaneous, I am not a fan of shots which is silly b/c all I do is get stuck with needles but I get so anxious still after over 20 years of illness. I made it through a bone marrow biopsy which was sooooo hard and painful and now I've developed this phobia. I am terminal but recently unexpectedly went into remission :-)!!! But regarding your inability to sleep on narcotics, I am the same way. I have never taken Opana ER or in any form but I had the same wakeful reaction to morphine IR or ER, Percocet, Norco. I take dilaudid and it's not so helpful, NOTHING like the IV form. I hated the fact that I feel I would stay awake for a week straight and just deal w/the pain to get some rest. I hated it, great for the day and getting things done but anytime after 3:00 pm w/those meds and I am up for the entire night too. Ask if you can try something if different at night, dilaudid might take the edge off your pain in the right dose and I get some rest. We sound like we ave very similar chemistry and you are the only person I have ever describe themselves like me and the NO WITHDRAWAL, I do take meds most days but not all day and I might get night sweats, really just a feeling of day & night sweats, it's mildly unpleasant and passes within a day. Always been that way and no one believes it or has any explanation but I can walk away from narcotics if I'm not in pain (although most days the bone pain is excruciating) and I've been sick and w/ opiates for a LONG time, oral, IM and IV. I really hope you will post back and someone will explain why we are like this and no one else seems to be. Thanks SO much for posting, I don't feel so alone. Feel better =).

Really? the afrin bottle really worked? Is it actually a mist from the bottle or is it a thick goopy sludge? i tried this method but a little different. I cut a 40mg er opana into tiny tiny little pieces since you cant really grind or crush these pills without some sort of dermel. Then i mixed it with 2ml of isopropyl alcohol and 10ml of water. Which almost filled the afrin bottle.

The iso alcohol i added because in many other forums it said that the alcohol would dissolve the new formulation way better than water. Without having the TimerX stuff kick in and trap in the oxymorphone.

so i shook this mixture for over an hour until it was dissolved fully as one mixture. So super excited i tried to spray it up my nostril. It was way to thick to really "spray" from the afrin bottle. It would more of goop out and i had to tilt my head back to hope it would run in the back of my nose.

I did all the math and measured out perfectly the ml (or cc, same thing) of water to the 40mg opana. so each 1ml of liquid would equal 3.3mg of opana. So with this each spray would be about .3mg of opana. because with an afrin bottle, one spray equals 1/10th of a ml. I also tested out this over ten times with my bottle. I put in exactly 1ml of water into the bottle and it would spray ten times before running out. So these measurements are really accurate which is cool for such a simple afrin bottle.

anyway,

So 5 sprays each nostril, 10 total sprays, would equal a little over 3mg of opana. I would wait for like 3 minuted after every two sprays so my nose could absorb and dry back out so i wasnt just wasting the spray and getting a drip.

The liquid was SUPER THICK. and it didnt really work. Was yours thick or liquid like? also 3mg i would have felt if it would have worked. It may not be a lot, but i would have least felt it a little. It took many many sprays over a while to really start feeling it.

input anyone?

also i am working on another batch and doing this differently so i will report if it works.

HEY! i noticed you recommended the nasal spray method. If you look at my post above you can see what i tried. It was way to thick and would not really spray out the bottle. It came out but since it wasnt really a spray it wouldnt make it up my nose. Also on my new batch im trying it without the isopropyl alcohol and just using water. Without the alcohol it wont dissolve as well so im leaving it sit for over 12 hours. So that will solve that. But i am thinking about filtering the liquid through cotton in a oral syring to try and filter out the thick good and only have a nice liquid water with the oxymorphone in it. This way it will spray nicely out the afrin bottle and make it up my sinus. Ya? no? input?

To: ANDY AND BRYYN...

I can explain more to you as to why some of these medicines do not work, or work as near as well as they should for you...I will be back home from a meeting tomorrow and will post it to you as soon as I can ok..Keep up the work being strong and not being addicted to meds, its a hard thing to do physically and mentally, which many of have suffered and still suffering for many reasons..;) I'll write you soon to explain more to you, and further options that may help in the future with your chronic pain and medical diagnosis..;)

AS FOR THE OTHERS ABOVER YOU, where are you getting from these previous posts that they have said anything about AFRIN OR ANAL ways to administer medicine?? BAD IDEA EVRY WAY YOU LOOK AT IT, and sever overdosing by anal administration, and you cant make yourself throw that up either in case of an ER visit because of overdose...NO CHARCOAL will be able to be admisnistered down there for possible overdose my friend..I am just trying to help you make a bad decision, along with the Nasal spray issue, JUST ONE SMALL affect would be your blood vessels will begin to swell up and die and then you will constantly have a very stuffy nose, and feel like crap, but thats just one small reason to not do it...

I just want to help, and let the information out on many issues on this board...Not judge you nor anyone else, but for us to feel we have a place to come without judgement, and type our thoughts, and try to help one another in a positive manner...

Vktoria..;))
