How To Snort The New Formula Opana Er (Page 13)

Updated

I became a pain patient after I fell off a horse in March of last year and sustained spinal injuries which are still VERY painful. Opana ER was the first thing doctors gave me that helped at all and now that they have changed the formula I'm in a lot more pain. I want to break down the formula so I can insufflate it, as I am told I may get more pain relief and increase bioavailability of the drug. The new formula hardly offers the same pain relief, Please help me!

To CURSED....

I was on many of the pills explained in these posts, and finally found myself and what I really needed in life and did what you have done and found a good doctor, GOOD FOR YOU!!! i am glad to hear you wish not to abuse pills like many others, its not what they are for...The exalgo works great for me and I follow the instructions and take as I am suppose to...I am on a tamper down now because I have recently had the Medtronic medicine pump put in 2 months ago and it works wonders for myself and my pain control...Because I had been on pain meds for so long, I obviosly cant just stop them so I have to slowly get off them the correct way...I was on three exalgo 16 mg a day with Nucynta 2 a day...I am now off the nucynta and down to 12 mg and only 2 exalgo a day, which a really 24 hour control pills....I really am looking forward to getting off all pills for pain as soon as I can but definately want to do it correctly and not experience withdrawls with opiates, thats a nasty experience...ESPECIALLY IS THE ARE SNORTED OR DONE ANALLY, I TRULLY FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE DOING THAT BECAUSE ITS GOING TO BE HELL.....

What is it you wish to know my friend, ask me, and I will tell you anything you wish to know, and help you and anyone else out, I would love to help....;) and again, I am sooooo happy you wish to not abuse the medicine, you really should be very proud of yourself, because itnis a very easy and addictive thing to do, and your a very strong person for not walking that road...and for if some reason you are, or did, I will understand and help anyways....I just want to help others and let them know it is possible to live a life with some pain and not be in the missery of pill control....just let me know and I will help you, just address your post to me so I know your speaking to me ok...;))) thank you and keep your head up...nothing is good looking down..;)))

I was looking up this drug to see if it may work better than my fentnyl patches. I am in constant pain as most of you are. I have bowel problems so I would never be able to do it the way the young man explained. It would be a great relief to only use half of any of my medications because I can't afford the medications. I am still waiting on SSA...My girlfriend takes this and gets relief so I asked my doctor and she said that I could not afford these at all. Johnson and Johnson gives me the patches each month but now that they changed the formula because of the abuse of addicts it doesn't work as well. I don't know what it feels like to get high on a pain medication because it always went straight to the pain with relief. I don't understand the high that people that aren't in pain get from it. I remember when I didn't have a lot of pain I took a percocet and all it did was make me really sick to my stomach. I hope everyone on here finds some relief and we can someday be like we were with the exception that we have to take medication for pain. At one time that is what my pain meds did for me. I just felt normal and didn't have pain. Now I am always in pain no matter what I try.

Go to Walmart and get a dremmel tool it is a hand held electric powered sanding tool found where drills and such would be they are only like eight dollars use that to shave it down and mix with a third of a Tylenol ( it helps decrease the gelling effect) make sure you use tweezers to hold the pill cause shaving your fingers is super painful!

shiLark.... hello and good day to you..I have a pain doctor who sent me through the steps, mental evaluation and physical evaluation to see if I was a good candidate for the medicine pump, but thats a sign of a good doctor. I am not saying your doctor is not a good doctor. Ok, how long have you been with your doctor? Next time you see him, ask him if you can look into the pain pum with MEDTRONIC, if he doesnt do it like you said, ask him if he can refer you to a clinic or physician who can be refered to to talk about teh pain pump...You deserve good pain relief and I am very happy to hear your interested in other alternatives than pills..Im not saying people who have to take pills are bad either, some people have to do what they need to control kthe pain they experience, and I feel for everyone who is in pain..

Dont give up, its your body and you deserve the BEST ok..do what you need to do to talk to someone about the pump, if you have been experiencing pain for a long time and have been on meds and tried other pain management, you will be a good candidate for the pump, and keep on it until you find someone willing to check you out for it my friend..Thanks for asking and if the is anything else you want to know, the process and anything you want to know about the pump, pictures or anything, i will be more than happy to help you ok..;)) Im here and dont let negativity on here bother you, there are a lot of good people on here too..;))

I have scoliosis and ended up with degenerative disc disease and arthritis to my neck and spine. I had a fusion, ACF 10 years ago and a cervical laminectomy of C2 through C7 3 weeks ago because I was losing neurological function..numbness to my arms, electrical shocks to my legs and a loss of balance. My spinal cord was compressed in 3 places so the surgery was a "have to" sorta thing and the neurosurgeon made clear it was not for pain relief...only to get me out of the danger of paralysis if I fell or sumpin. I am a nurse and also a yoga instructor. I have had to give up the yoga for now but hope to return. I have managed my pain with massage, chiropractic, yoga, anti-inflammatories and a muscle relaxer on occasion but am trying to go back to work due to no benefits at work. I started back working 2 weeks post op but am part time so good for now. I have taken narcotics over the years..a variety but tried not to use them on a regular basis as i am afraid of addiction. I have been on oxycontin, MS Contin, Lortab, Nucynta, Lortab and tramadol. I stayed on Opana for a short time as I read it was a powerhouse narcotic so afraid of it. As a rule, I didnt take the time released meds like opana around the clock like you are supposed to because I was afraid of what would happen if I did not have any or something. Now, after my recent surgery, I may need to do so with a break through pain med as well so i can work. My Doctor prescribed exalgo, but my insurance doesnt cover it...only meds with a generic form like oxycontin, ms contin, lortab etc. I havent filled it because it is expensive without insurance! Insurance doesnt cover opana either, but i had a different policy when i took it 5 years ago. I may be going full time and getting benefits at work very soon so my meds would be covered. Does Exalgo make anyone sleepy? He also suggested Opana? Nucynta made me sleepy. How do these 2 compare for pain relief and fatigue as a side effect? Hopefully when i go back to see him next month, my new insurance will be going. For now I am on oxycodone 15mg three times a day and it is not cutting it.
Thx

ZELDA, how are you feeling today? You being a nurse you obviously know the affects of taking pain meds for a period of time, your body gets immuned to it and that is the BODY becoming addicted to it, and you and I both know that is different than mentally being addicted to the meds..

With your amount of injuries and long term outcomes, what you are doing with MASSAGE, YOGA, AND CHIROPRACTOR work is wonderful, I strongly suggest massage therapy is great, it releases many toxins out of the body and with a normal schedule of massage therapy, it does wonders and i suggest it for all pain sufferers..

Im very sorry you suffer from your injuries, but with your documented problems, i believe and i am sure you do,p there should be other pain management other than pills, they are only temporary but do help, im not saying that..I have suggested this to others but If i were you, i would look into seing if you could be a good candidate for a medicine pump with Medtronic, it is a wonderful pain relief without pain pills all the time, but still can get break through if you need it?? i suffer bad fibromyalgia and you being a nurse knows its painful, and I am doing pretty good with the pump..but I do massage therapy and it helps a lot too...

I am in the process of getting off of EXALGO and it does not make me sleepy and does well with the pain relief, as you know its a small form of dilaudid, very strong so i have to get off it slowly so i don't go through withdrawals, and that i don't want..;)) i have been on a lot of meds in my past and do suggest EXALGO for a good pain relief if YOU TAKE IT AS PRESCRIBED..with no abuse.. Your a strong person going back to work so soon after surgery but we have to do what is needed to get by huh.. And your right, EXALGO is very expensive, my insurance pays for it and 90 pills at 12 mg is $1,300 dollars, pretty sickening if you ask me for pain relief..;( i feel exalgo is much better than the opana..thats my feelings..i just recommend, dont go down thempath of abuse, take them as prescribed and if you dont need it and can get by and handle some pain, do it, the less pills the better..I have learned to live with pain and if we can get our mentality to live with some pain, we can do it and find things to take the time up and not concentrate on it as much.. If ther is anything else i can help you with, please feel free to ask or talk to me, i love to help others...And keep strong ok..;)) all the people on this board are strong, they just may be having a bad day...

I am interested in the pain pump but no one has ever suggested it to me. Would you mind telling me a lttle more about it. I am in so much pain every day of my life. I can't have any friends anymore because I cannot live up to the expectations of my friends. I am not on any insurance and have been waiting for a social disability hearing soon and hopefully I can get some help. I am on the fetnyl patch and pain medicine daily too. Nothing seems to relieve this pain and I am just miserable and tired. I can't sleep properly and I feel as if I always need to be rested. Where do they put the pump? How often do you need to use the pump? Does this mean you don't have the side effects of the medicine. I guess a miracle is needed for some of our pain relief, but I think I did hear that it is not like taking all the pills. It is better for you? Thank you and you are right there are so many nice people on here and I read the nasty comments and couldn't believe that people get on just to be that negative...that is something that I definitely dont need right now at this point in my life.
Warmly,

To anyone who wants to get off of opiates: it is one of the hardest things you will ever encounter in your life.. A true test from god. There has been a lot of "bashing" on here of drug addicts and junkies, but the truth is that just about anyone who has taken a drug like opana daily, and for a long period of time, is addicted in some way. My suggestion to you is get ahold of a treatment facility or a drug councilor. Also talk to your doctor. He or she may recommend a short term stint on suboxone. I think it is awesome that you want to get off of these drugs but I hope that you will be prepared for what lies ahead. At the same time, I hope you will not be afraid to go through with it. Opiates are the hardest drug to come off of and it WILL test you strength. That's why I suggest an outpatient treatment or support group. Go to AA or NA meetings. And if it's real bad, dont ever be scared to check into an inpatient treatment facility. Good luck and god bless. And whatever you do, never be ashamed that you're hooked on a drug or that you feel as though you can't get off of it. It happens. The thing that defines you is not that you got addicted to a drug, it's how you choose to deal with it.

To okclean: there is a major difference between addiction and tolerance to a drug... So abusers and medical users are not the same... They would both have physical withdrawals if stopped suddenly, but that is the only similarity they share. There are no psychological withdrawals or cravings for medical users of opiates, which can make the physical withdrawals even worse and more difficult to complete. Medical users don't have the possibility of having a relapse since that is a psychological phenomenon.

Vktoria : Hi there, how have you been? How goes the process of getting off your oral pain meds? My neurostimulator implant quit working, and I have to have surgery to replace it. It's still under warranty, but I don't want to have anesthesia or be cut again!
