How To Snort The New Formula Opana Er (Page 6)

Updated

I became a pain patient after I fell off a horse in March of last year and sustained spinal injuries which are still VERY painful. Opana ER was the first thing doctors gave me that helped at all and now that they have changed the formula I'm in a lot more pain. I want to break down the formula so I can insufflate it, as I am told I may get more pain relief and increase bioavailability of the drug. The new formula hardly offers the same pain relief, Please help me!

Actually most junkies started out as legit pain patients. These meds r beasts. And even if u dont abuse them n just take them.as prescribed u get deoendent and have to suffer withdrawals when u dont have them. Ill say it again these meds r Beasts. And the New Opana SUX but moatly Endo n the DEA suck for ruining a medication that provided great pain relief. They could not b injected so I really dont get y they had to ruin them. So effing what if someone chooses to snort their damn. Meds. It just SUX!

you're exactly right about the governments involvment in the heroine trade. before the war in afghanistan, the al-qaueda and middle easterns had a SEVERE prohibition on the poppy plant ( reason for heroine's rarity during clinton years). when the war in the middle east suppressed the taliban, the afghan farmers were given free will to do as they please and farm what they will ( provided that the government would recieve a tax surplus for certain services provided, and people paid off). this country is far more f***ed up then you guys would ever realize. this is no conspirators bulls***, this is a college graduate, professional individual of whom has seen some things and knows far too much. the government is behind the trend of heroine trade, the oil industry, the soon to be coming fad of " going green" and a few other things. if you're smart, you'll stay very far away from mitt romney

Well I go to my doc on Mon 9th. Have tried to get him to order the old fomulation thru a combing pharmacy. They make custom meds. He's like. I am not doing that. So I have been grinding them . It works but takes my voice away. Not too bad if I cut three up in my coffee. (40s) I was on 6 40s a day for two years. Now he wants me to try methadone. I heard its a good pain med if they give you enough. But I know he will start to tapper me down after I start them. I can't get my pain bellow a 5 since the new meds. Lucky I had a few old stashed. But they are almost gone. I heard the methadone is awful to come off of. I just want to stop my pain. (Cevical injury from snowmobiling) I get up in the morning fealing worse than I did when I went to bed. I have to work a lot of people depend on Me. Wife 5 kids. I am at the end of my rope. I think I am going to find out what the price of H is and mabey I can make a deal with the devil. I am so not alone when I read your posts I hear disparity just like me. They realy give you no choice. They give you your life back then take it AWAY. ??????????????

@trapswife, Isn't the definition of an addict somebody who needs a pill to feel normal?? If you stop taking opana's you will be dope sick, so in the true sense of the word you are an addict regardless if the pill is given to you by a doctor or you get it off the streets. You people are kidding yourselves it's not that the drugs no longer mask the pain it's that you no longer get high enough. I mean one dude takes 6 opana 40's a day, and claims he is not an addict?? That is crazy and the equivilant of shooting 28 bags of herion a day. I am sorry but as somebody who used to take OC 80's for "pain" then switched to herion when the doctor cut me off I know that pain killers lower you pain tolerance and threshold. My back pain, I have AS a blood disease that curves the spine, I thought was intolerable when I was an addicted but now that I am sober the pain is extremely manageable with just advil and toughness. I mean I am a golf teaching Pro, so I am constantly using my back but I manned up and dealt with the pain so I wasn't a slave to a pill or needle. All you people on here crying because you don't get high anymore need to get a clue; you are addicted, and you could probably manage just fine without 97 opana's or Oc's a day. I mean come on how can the most of you seriously tell yourselves that you couldn't live because the pain is that bad??? You all are just like I was you love the way the Pills make you feel; you know how they work right? The don't take the pain away, they just mess you up so much you don't care about the pain. I beg of all of you to look into alternatives because these pills have ruined a ton of wonderful people, and if a junkie with a curved back like me can play 36 holes of golf a day with out pills then the majority of you can surely sit in an office for 9 hours a day with out being stoned out of your mind.

dude your way off. The true reason for the spike in herion is the prevelance of extremely strong pain killers. Before OC 80's and opana's weren't really around. Now everybody and their mother thinks they need pain pills for minor pain. Then when the doctor cuts them off they go to H. Or they sell their pills in the first place cause they don't truly need them getting young high school kids addicted who then switch to herion. Dude you don't need 6 opana 40's a day for clevical surgery that is ridiculous. It's not the pain you are chasing the high. Don't go to heroin, it will ruin your life. So will opana's but with herion you become a slave to a dealer as opposed to a doctor. When did we become such sissy's in this country that we think we need a pill for any minor pain.

You are full of crap. The bad food and the bad worke lifestyles people have due to Corporations and doctors have turned us to pain meds. What about the people that are tough like myself that cant hold a job because pain keeps them disabled due to no nutrition in our diet and stuff like that? What can we do after two blown out discs and S1 leaking fluid fluid? We get turned away because of the real pussies.

Look the euphoria is almost needed to get pain relief when severe pain controls your life. You cant stop tolerance and you cannot stop the fact doctors want you to be a life long junkies cause they don't want to fix what is causing the pain. The doctors think oh I will then lose a patient. Stop blaming people wanting to get better but docs give them no option but more pain meds as they want you to believe its the only thing that works is drugs. Physical therapy and chiropractors is a joke as its just masking the pain way less than pain meds. F*** off American medical industry you greedy pricks.

I dont get high and detoxed and never felt normal even after a month and the pain got worse and worse. Don't judge everyone cause you liked to get high people like you ruin it for everyone as you were in acute pain, not chronic pain.

Why? Mit will ruinj it for a few but Obama will ruin it for just about anyone that has a paycheck to make the poor andfeel better. Then Obama wants to kill off anyone that want's a half way quality of life. Much cheaper health care for Obama and Bill gates just to kill us all that are sick and raise massive taxes.

The reason why is because the DEA and Gov. are in bed with pharmaceutics. If they force a weaker formula the pharmaceutic companies and pharmacy's make more money as you need more pills. Get it?

Hey donny dont tell ppl that they dont need the meds their doctor is giving them for pain. How do you know how much pain all these ppl are in? you dont! are you a doctor? are all of these ppl here your patients? before you open your mouth and sound like an ass maybe you should walk a mile in my shoes for a day and you will understand very quickly why you are never to judge anyone with a true chronic pain issue. You saying ppl are chasing the high is a ridiculous statement. Further more the reason they are putting all these restrictions on pain medication is so the government can make money off of us soon weed will be legal because it will be another way for the government to make more money because this country runs on greed not compassion. whoever else is on here who is in pain I feel ya and dont listen to this person because he obviously doesnt know what the hell hes talking about. Have a nice day :)

I think this post is really harsh but I agree to an extent. Some doctors do prescribe to many meds for what seem to be a lot of "back pain" and I know back pain can be severe but rarely would any doctor under normal circumstances, put a patient on a regimen that included OCs, Opana, Methadone, Fentanyl, etc. for years and find it to be appropriate. I think there are cases that do require these types of meds and usually the goal is to use the meds until other therapies lower the pain through other means than keep a patient either dependent or addicted, the outcome will be the same - stopping will cause withdrawals. If a patient chooses to get "high" of their meds and they are not honest with their doctor than they will eventually feel the consequences of their escalating doses. See how many post their doctors have either cut them off or lowered their dose. They do this to make room for patients that they see as truly needed this type of therapy. As a terminal patient I got into pain management at the expense of another patient - I was told that the doctor would have to release a patient and I felt terrible and then he told me "believe me, I have a list of patients as long as my arm that are being weaned and released, there are few conditions that justify the level of narcotics these patients take and push for, yours is one that is why I chose this field, to make dying easier". I am now dependent on these meds, I need them round the clock and I can't imagine choosing this as a long-term lifestyle, I miss the way I used to be, the side effects alone are difficult but I don't feel nearly as happy as I used to and I know that has to do with the medications. There are worse things than dying, I have made my peace with that but the anxiety, depression, libido affects and fatigue are a tough trade off but my pain has reached the level that I can no longer manage without stronger meds. I am dying and have never taken an Opana much less 240 mg per day! This is someone who has allowed their tolerance to grow and will be in a lot of trouble when their doctor cuts them off or drops them because after Opana, there is not much higher to go so they will likely suffer terrible withdrawal and normal pain meds will NEVER help them when they do really need them. That should scare you, very few doctors will hand out Opana for "back pain", if the FDA allows that drug to stay on the market as they already fear it's the new Oxycontin.

Alieve helps with inflammation, so if your pain is coming from inflammation, alieve will help the pain, not necessarily potenate the narcotic. For people who have stomach issues, alieve can make one feel horrible and nothing is worse than stomach pain that one can't get rid of with ANY medication. It makes the narcotic void and even wastes it cause the stomach pain is so bad. This is my experience and also the ones of many other people with chronic stomach pain. Be careful with alieve naproxen sodium.

First of all, if the new formulas for OxyContin, opana, exalts, etc. doesn't work, then change to another opioid. I have been on opioids for 15 years. Mscontin, fentanyl, dilaudid all work awesome and you don't have to worry about snorting because the bioavailability isn't great with the others. My suggestion is to have your pain doctors switch to fentanyl patches which passes the intestinal absorption and the patches last 24-72 hours. Take dilaudid for breakthrough pain. If you want to snort them for pain relief, then you can't find anything better!

I'm just curious, in 15 years have you been able to keep your doses fairly stable or have you had to go up every year or so? I was on MS Contin for 10 years prior and only had one increase and it was from twice a day to 3 times a day. I just wonder why so many people do have to bounce around so much, both with medications (that one I do understand as I stayed on the MS Contin a bit too long) and their doses. I think people don't understand how difficult it is to have a high tolerance to pain meds in a hospital. I would just advise people that if you think you will be dosed to relieve your pain - to the dosing you are used to - you will find yourself in a bad position. Nurses, just by seeing your home meds will peg you as a seeker or addict and will treat you badly from the start. I am terminal and not on near the doses I am reading here and am treated at times very poorly and the doctors can write whatever orders they want, good luck getting the nurses to administer them. Protect your tolerance as best as you can, many of you are very young and can't possibly see the downside of these medications but there are so many. Staying on the lowest possible dose of the lowest strength opiate will your best bet to not allow these pills to rule your life. The BEST thing I ever did was to go to an exercise class 3 times a week, it helped so much with the depression and I think ultimately with my pain and outlook on the rest of my life. It is very easy to live a life involving you and your meds, counting your doses and waiting until your next pain mgmt. appointment just so you can start the cycle all over again. I remember a time when you couldn't get me to take Tylenol and now I often wonder where that lady went to and I know now that my circumstances are different but the truth is I could have held off longer, I just wanted or maybe needed it easier and I think that's okay but in my case, the trade off, as I look back, was too large. These pain meds provided me with immense relief all the way through but they also came with depression and that alone made the price too high. Just my thoughts. I hope someone will benefit from them.

55 year old male been on pain meds for years. For me the new formula is worthless to me. I only took orally, never had a need to snort. People are going to the ER because of the new formula. Severe constipation requiring manual removal because laxitives don't work. I emailed ENDO and you should do the same. They will give you their number to call as I did. Now they are worried of legal backlash so put the pressure on. They made personal visits to pain clinics trying to make up for the shortage they put us all through so they know they have to clean their name and now screwed up again. Gotta fight back people. I don't want this drug.

Lynne, you have my total respect. Are you sure the depression was not from pain also? Sounds to me your getting down on yourself way to hard. To heck what nurses see at home meds. Why do you think you could have held out longer? Look at these wet behind the ears kids here devoting their lives to seek out new ways to abuse at our expense! Get rid of second guessing yourself and start re- believing in yourself. Your to kind in your words to abusers. I'm sorry, screw em.
