How To Snort The New Formula Opana Er (Page 12)

I became a pain patient after I fell off a horse in March of last year and sustained spinal injuries which are still VERY painful. Opana ER was the first thing doctors gave me that helped at all and now that they have changed the formula I'm in a lot more pain. I want to break down the formula so I can insufflate it, as I am told I may get more pain relief and increase bioavailability of the drug. The new formula hardly offers the same pain relief, Please help me!

Tasha: Please don't have your father snorting Opana! I know that you don't want to see him in pain, but you are going to cause him much worse pain later. When snorted, you get much more of the oxymorphone in the system...this causes the tolerance to build much more rapidly. The withdrawals will be extremely bad when he stops snorting it. Even if he is still taking it orally, he will suffer withdrawals when not snorted...it is that bad! I understand about the med changing, and not being as effective...I had the same issue! Please do not have him abusing Opana, but switch to something else as I had my doc do! Hope he gets better soon...let me know how things go!

Mindy & Victoria: you can't be honest with the doc without consequences... Most docs will cut you off if they know your abusing your meds... In fact it is illegal in most states for a doctor to prescribe controlled substances to a known addict/abuser. Unless your planning on getting off the pain pills permanently, I wouldn't tell your doc that you have been abusing them! If you do plan on getting off the pain meds, then Vktoria is right...your doc can help make it easier, or send you to someone who does that. Good luck dear!

TO: CHRONIC PAIN PATIENT...

thank you for your support, you are right about a few things, about telling your doctor about your meds..I didn't mean to tell your doctor your snorting them because they will discontinue you immediately....But tell them the Opana is not working, or any other meds you are doing that isn't alleviating the pain correctly.. But if the docotr does not know it isnt working, then they cannot help you further more..Usually in my medical practice of 20 years and more, a general doctor now cannot prescribe pain meds for an extended period of time, knly specialized docs like Pain doctors who speciallize in pain management, who are authorized to manage pain either by RX AND other means..for an extended period of time..Snorting or injecting meds will have the WORST withdrawals a human being can barely even take, on their own I mean..

You might want to look into a device called a " MEDTRONIC PAIN MEDICINE PUMP" this device I have recently had implanted in my abdomen for the PAIN, it administers around the clock anesthetic into my spine from the middle back, or wherever the doctor feels is correct for you, and numbs the nerves that causes the pain in my area of pain, and let me tell you, it is absolutely wonderful..its small, don't even know it is there, the surgery is minimal and I feel amazing...Not only does it illuminate pills going through your body and organs, but only goes through your spinal cavity, very minimal amount throughout your body...I am offered breakthrough pain meds like Norco to take if I have a bad day, but I deny them, because I know as a previous addict, if its not inn-the house, the better it is...;))) there are many alternatives out there for us pain patients, and I feel if we help each other, which we can do here and we are, we can get one another past the "PILL" life and still feel good enough to manage our daily lives and feel alive again...WERE all not perfect, but we can take control of our lives, were the only ones that can do it...;)))) thanks everyone, for supporting one another, your great individuals!!!!!

Thank you for ur response. I went back to my Dr. yesterday and he is helping me. I feel little better but the Methadone(which I was on for 8 years)is very built up and dr. says I will probably withdrawal for a good 30 days and will probably be a year or more of psycological withdrawal. He changed my break through medcine and that has helped with my f***ed up legs. Im not thinking of snorting anymore because I am getting a little relief. He also told me the opana er probably wont start really helping for 2 weeks due to what the methadone has done to my endorphens in my brain. So im praying and crossing my fingers that things will get better. Thanks so much for caring!!

Look I want to thank all of you that has responded to my constipation problem, from taking the new opana ERs and now for those out there that want to know how to break down the Opana er to snort and to this woman that is talking about having her father start to snort them. Look my heart really goes out to you when you have to watch someone you really love suffer so and I beg you before you start having hin snort them have him eat something fatty when he takes his opanas instead for it will release the medication in his system stronger and he will see better pain relief it might take a while but it does work, but to have him snort them believe me thats a road that is best not traveled and I know this is the kettle calling the pot black due to me snorting my opanas 10IR s. you see when you start snorting them and yes I did because the new er40
s were not working as well as the old er20s, but buy snorting them your system gets use to them a lot quicker for now I have to snort a fat line and take a 40 before i go to bed each night just so i dont wake up with server withdrawals and in them withdrawals it feels like all of my nerve endings are on fire I have to spent at the very lest 5 minutes clearing my nasal passages, i snap at my love ones for NO REASON AT ALL. The pain of the ruptured discs in my neck and my back is a 100 times greater on top of the withdrawals symptoms and that is just the first half an hour after waking up and please believe me when i say it gets worse as time goes by so I find myself having to snort 3 fat lines as soon as I wake up and popping a 40er to stop everything from getting right and spend most of the day snorting Lines just to feel (RIGHT) again . I have a woman in my life that I love (in Love with) very very much and because I am spending most of my time trying to feel (right) again I show hardly any interest in. This is the road i travel each and every minute of the day and I wish it was a road I never got on so for Gods Sake and for yours and your love ones if you havent started down this road Please I beg you dont take it and if you just started down it please turn around for now would be the easiest time for you to get off of that road then you will ever have in the future. This is not coming from someone saying Hey Ive been there, this is coming from someone who is trapped there struggling with the fact that I am even here and i know before its all said and done I will loose everything that I treasure and I would wish this on no one

To DAN....your a great man for telling others of the road you travel each day..Im sorry you travel this road but you know what, every road has an exit......an exit to a better, newer road that may have just been paved recently?? Its NEVER to late dude...Im sorry your in so much pain, but you and I both know that meds can worsen the pain when the body needs more, so you being on these meds, COULD BE making the pain a lot worse on some days that you as a man could handle without the pills and do it for your lady and children...if you wish to just TALK, ill give you my email address, nothing to pry into your life, just talk and maybe we can help things out? i agree i had heroin addict friends years ago and was indifrent to their abuse now i have chronic pain and i'm pissed that its hard to get medicine and i have to literally suffer becuase the dumb "kids" bragging how high they get and f*** the dea and fda the cant stop the drug users they just make legitimate pain patients jump through hurdles and suffer when the junkies always find another way to get high

Hi Greg, Im sorry your having to go through hurdles to find pain relief..I found this site and when I was reading how people were sharing on how to snort and get high, I decided to try to change the conversation in here and HOPE that maybe we could help some others change their way of living through the pain pill life style..We all have an addiction of some sort, and I suffered the pill addiction myself Greg, but it came to me one day when I looked in the mirror and realized there has to be a better way of living than around counting pills and manage my pain in other ways, I found the strength to do so, and all people have the strength in theirselves to do it also, just some need a little help..No one is perfect, and encouragement can go a long way, if they want help? I hope you find the pain relief your looking for..;))

Thank you so very much for responding to my posts, I will never be able to express fully how wonderful it was to read the hope in your response. I am not giving up; I am just at that place or realization of Wow how the hell did I get here as for dealing with the pain in all honesty I am dealing with all of it that I can handle and that is not the addiction talking, it’s the plain and simple truth. I feel as if I am stuck between that rock and a hard place. I have 2 ruptured discs in my lower back L4-L5 and L5-S1, the L4-L5 is pinching the sciatica nerve running down my right leg and yes the L5-S1 is pinching the same nerve running down my left leg and they both are pinching the nerve bundle with in the vertebrae’s themselves due to them narrowing . So I have great pain running down both legs with numbness and have not had an Achilles Heel reflex in both feet going on 2 years now. The numbness means that I cut a main artery in one or both of my legs and bleed to death before I know it.
In my neck I have 1 ruptured disc that is pinching my spinal cord, I had 3 of them but a surgeon removed 2 put in an Infuse bone graft (the ones that has the class action suit) and left the third in my neck. The complications I am having with the bone graft is trouble swallowing simple things like a sip of water sometimes feels like someone is tearing my throat back open after super gluing it shut all the way down past my Adams Apple. I know this sounds gross but I can make baby-food out of my dinner with a blender take a small mouth full chew swallow and have to bring it back up to chew it some more . I cannot hold onto light things with my hands due to feeling like nothing is there so it slips right out a pair of socks is dropped to the floor with me not knowing it until I get to sit down to go to put them on . I have what feels like a tension head ache but 100 times worse just basically in that location 24/7 non-stop most times. I have seen several surgeons in my area had one tell me he can help with my back but first I have to tell him I am in the worst pain that I have ever been in before with my back and the headaches are the worst pain that I have ever been in, in my life . Went to the ER about my headaches about a year ago was told they are most likely due to the surgery and the ruptured disc C2-C3 that I did not even know I had before the ER visit due to the surgeon not telling me about it before my surgery but is plainly seen in the original films of my neck before the operation. So since I could not lie to that doctor I had to go see another. That Sob told me and the love of my life that he could help with the pain running down my legs but could not do much for the localized pain in my back and want me and my Lil Miss to talk it over and if we decided to go with the surgery to make another appointment . We made another appointment just to be told after he learned that I was on Medicaid that he believed that the difference in my pain level after the surgery would be so slight that he decided not to do and good bye .
My Family Doctor set me up with an appointment with Duke University here in North Carolina, a teaching Hospital and a Teaching Surgeon. They call set the Appointment ask what insurance I had and two weeks later called back and canceled due to the Doctor not taking out of the county Medicaid. The Medicaid program is a state wide Program not county wide so this makes no since but next week another appointment with another surgeon and hopefully this one will do something then after that I do not care what pain I am left in as long as it’s some relief I will be changing roads for after writing my last posts it kind of came full circle and slapped me dead in the face so I have started winging myself off of the snorting to try to minimize the withdraws for to continue down this road knowing now full well where I am at ( if readers don’t understand that statement, then I guess they would really need to be wear you were and I am at) I would be nothing but a fool for my Little Miss was my very first Love and I have loved her always for 32 years after our break up from afar and now that she is back in my life she is the biggest and most wonderful treasure that I have ever had then and now and to lose her again would be worst then the realization of what I am doing now. So I will beat this I want it no other way and again thank you for your reply for it has given me strength when I needed it and a more in-depth realization as to what I am really doing. I dont know what to do now..... started up with a new Pain Mgmt Doc a few days ago and came home with an entirly new regimin for long term pain relief and break-thru relief. Opana ER and hydromorphon (no e a the end of that). I dont like what I am hearing on the threads all the way as far back as earlier this Spring!
I have been on the long road of pills,injections, surgeries and Docs switching me back and forth from one NEW pill on the market to another, for 18 years.... They are all the same from the CORE... heroin. A tweik hear or there to stop abuse. Dont take the wrong path in abusing it! Find a Doc you can talk honestly to and express the fact that it just doesnt give the relief it was designed to do! Its your body! Or your loved ones body you are protecting! Dont loose yourself or a loved one from using it the wrong way, its not worth it. You are only then puting the power and $$$$ back to the Pharma Co's and Docs that run the show. It sounds like everyone is not liking the change in this Opana.... then make your voice heard.... tell the Doc, your pharmacy, drug manufactures' and keep moving up the list. Someone out there cares about people in pain and the quality of life they deserve to have. DEMAND IT!!! Those Opana pills I had filled are gonna sit their and a call is going out on Monday to my doc. I'm not gonna let another person make money off my misery and pain.

To SCARED AS HELL....
hello there, I read your post and I am very sorry you have to face the pain you are suffering.. let me start by saying the New Opana's ,,,, ER..Do help, they just take longer to begin their work, just some people on here that wanted to abuse them like the OLD opanas, didnt like them because they were almost impossible to do so, so they gave them a bad name...Im not going to lie, when I was on them my pain was pretty bad and they didnt alleviate them enough but told my doctor and they ended up putting me on EXALGO ER...which worked much better, so maybe you can mention them to your doctor?? exalgo is a all day release of dilauded(sp?) and worked very well for me, but again was made by FDA to not be abused which was not a problem for me..

You are correct though about trying to change the way meds are being made, but I believe it will NEVER be done, because there are sooo many people who abuse them and it just out weighs the people who really need them, its a battle I believe that can not be won..I am not one to not try but Its a matter of the FDA trying to stop the abuse, which I believe is great but not for us who truly suffer from the pain...I know I have mentioned it in my past posts but there are alternatives to pills for pain relief that does work, the medtronic pain pump, maybe research it today if you can get any time to do so?? i wish you the best of luck in managing your pain...I am sorry you and many of us suffer from this problem....I believe we need to also learn to deal with some pain, Were all strong and have to realize we can face a lot of things that are delt to us, even pain..;)

to dan~ a combination of senicot and pericolase works for the constipation. have to use as a regular reigiment. Hope this helps with this yet another side effect chronic pain sufferers have to deal with. Thanks for your tips also.

I was happy to read your post. I would like the details on taking them rectally. I can not make it through my day. The Er version does not help at all. Could you pls let me know the details on how you do it.

Cut up new Opana into as many pieces as possible with a pill cutter. If you use 20 mgs daily cut up 20 mgs. Place pieces into empty pill bottle. Add room temp water more than half full to full. Shake. Let sit over night. Next day you will find a slimy solution of dissolved Opana. Shake up well. Pill pieces will now be globs stuck to plastic bottle. Use a disposable chopstick to stir. Shake again. The longer it sits the more it dissolves the better the solution. I prepare four or five bottles at a time.
Use oral 5 ml syringe and place lube on it. Lie on your left side- relax- lift leg and siphon up 5 ml 3-4times. Stay lying down for 20 minutes. Pain will be gone within 15.
Okay it's gross and weird but works like nothing else. I do this every 4 hours.
WD from this method come on strong.

How does the Exalgo work for u? Been suffering with CPRS for 23 years and been through many treatments and meds. My Doctor has me on Opana 40 mg twice daily, and dilaudid 4mg every 4 hrs for break through pain. He does not like having me on oxymorphone and hydromorphone. The Dalaudid seems to help me more than the opanas. I read ur post and studied the Exalgo. I would like to know a little more about ur experience with it and compare to what mgs u were on before the Exalgo. Please, I finally have a wonderful doctor who wants what is best for me. I know I have to deal with a good bit of pain even with meds because my disease is out of control and it put me down for a long time. Just wanting to live as close to a normal mife and everything. I take my medicine right and do not snort it or anything else. My doctor also does monthly drug screens and calls u in for pill counts. Not looking to get HIGH!!! Only want my pain controlled somewhat. Thank u for your time.

this is what my doctor tells me , and also what the internet says about Opana... I use to be on the Roxicodone 30mg Immediate Release , for 6 years.. then my doctor recommended me 30mg Opana ER for Pain... the reason why so many people are NOT having Results, is because they are NOT taking the medication RIGHT..you ORALLY take it, and you have to take it on a EMPTY stomache.. doctors and the prescriptions tell you this!!! you should NOT eat 2 HOURS BEFORE you take OPANA.. because of the PLASTIC.. plastic has to be desolved, which if you eat ontop of Opana, they're basically USELESS.. your suppose to either take it 2 hours BEFORE you eat, or 2-4 hours AFTER you eat... if you dont follow these directions, then the Opana will NOT break down, and it will just GEL in your STOMACHE.

They are not plastic...nor do they have plastic in them... If they were...they would just pass right thru you and do nothing... They do work...you just want to abuse them...and you can't...not very effectively that is...
