Methadone is generally detectable in urine for approximately 5 days, after taking it.

However, there is no precise time frame, because it can vary from person to person, depending on your individual metabolism, overall health, activity levels and etc.

If you are taking it under a doctors orders, such as at a clinic, or have a prescription for it, then you only need to inform them of this, when you go in for testing.

While it's true that you are ok if you have a prescr, also know that the DOT will disqualify you even with a prescr. Just found out the hard way when I applied for a job that required a med exam & UA. I was denied the job and I don't know if I can retake the UA (it cost the company more money for the new test). Just a FYI for you all.
