How Long Does Tramadol Stay In Your System (Page 14)

I took 100 mg of Tramadol last Thursday and have to have a urine test at my pain doc next Thursday (2 weeks between dosage and test). I was wondering if anyone has been tested positive after that long?

To correct a few of u....... yes tramadol IS classified as a narcotic now and Not only have I done my research, but my suboxone doctor told me as well. And suboxone is an opiate agonist and suboxone blocks opiates. Therefore u do not feel "high" from an opiate after taking suboxone. My doc told me to never take an opiate 15 hours before or 15 hours after taking suboxone because it will make you sick! However, it never affected me that way when I relapsed, but it has made people I know sick, very sick indeed. Now, subutex is just like suboxone for the exception of the naloxone which is the opiate blocker in suboxone. They give subutex to pregnant women (I know from experience) just in case they need "pain killers" during delievery or pregnancy for whatever reason so that the baby doesn't suffer from withdraws. When u take an opiate after taking suboxone it sends your body into withdraw. That is why the doc and most people say u will/can get sick after mixing the 2. I have been sober now, with the help of suboxone/subutex for almost 3 years. I don't think I could have gotten this far without it. I truly thought it was a miracle drug after being addicted to "pain killers" for over 4yrs. And they classified tramadol as a narcotic because so many opiate addicts were taking them to avoid withdraw when they weren't able to take percocet, lortab, etc. I myself used to take 2 to 4 tramadol at a time to get "high" when I couldn't take the opiates of my choice for whatever reason. I hope this helps some of you.

Methadone and tramadol show up as an opioid. Doesn't matter if your taking it with methadone because they won't tell the difference with a 5 panel

Maria Baca, tramadol is not a narcotic/opiate! It is a synethetic analgesic. A very weak p-opiod agonist.

No bella, you are wrong. Suboxone blocks the receptors from getting high off of any other opiate. You will not become sick if you take opiates, you simply will not feel the high from them. that's the reason people overdose easily while on suboxone, because they keep taking more pills and not getting that desired high until they've taken too much. Just to clarify, you will not get sick if take opiates while on suboxone. Just nothing will happen, but the opiates will still show up in a urine test.

Tramadol is an opioid analgesic. It is a narcotic. It's not on the standard 12 panel test, but if you're being tested for something specific, for example, opiates if youre in the suboxone program as i am, they might add it to the panel for an extra fee. Tramadol, as many other opiates, is out of your system within 3 - 5 days. Alcohol is not on the 12 panel test and typically leaves your system very quickly (i.e. as soon as the hangover is gone). Of course these people dont have a prescription. That's why theyre on here asking about it.

I'm a chemist and i work in a lab doing urinalyses, blood tests, hair tests, etc.

This is not true!!! I took one about 3 days before a drug screen at pain doctor. When I went in for my follow up visit I was told I showed positive for Tramadol! I was in shock and had to find a new doctor cuz they discharged me( Bastards) but anyways do not screw around with this as the pain docs arent messing around with these urine tests they ship to the lab. They are very specific.

Thank you all. They actually gave me vistiral to help out the norco i am already on and therefore didn't need the old script. It's kinda weird, I ve been going to them since Jan. and they haven't tested my urine since. Maybe it's because I usually tell them if i 've had a drink or wotnot. I ll say this much, the Butrans patch sucks. It worked for a few months but now it pretty much just leaves me with irritated skin (cortaid to the rescue).
thanks again

That isn't totally true dear.
Suboxone blocks receptors of opiates so when you do opiates while on Suboxone you will be sick because of the receptors from Suboxone. I am experienced with these types of medications and health issues and addiction.
Just letting You know.

xxxxx@xxx {edited for privacy} but your body can form a habit of this medication and Make you go thru withdrawals....
But Tramadol isn't a narcotic . I was addicted to opiates for a long time and was prescribed Suboxone and it did help and I am now fine.

Suboxone does NOT block narcotics from getting into your system, Suboxone is in fact a narcotic itself. When it is combined with Revia, then it's the Revia that blocks the effects not the Suboxone. The Suboxone is used to help you tapper off slowely. It's a redundant system, that's why it rarely works.

No, it's not. It's a hybrid and has NOT been classified as an official narcotic by anyone. Conduct your research prior to providing opinion.

Tramadol IS a narcotic. Stop saying that it is not. It is a mild one, but it IS a narcotic!

I can't believe everyone who perpetrates and repeats the urban myth that "Tramadol" is not a narcotic drug. You need to ask any doctor about that. It is indeed considered a narcotic drug. This is my second go around on the Suboxene program. I have been told repeatedly, by doctors, that "Tramadol" is indeed considered a narcotic and because of the Suboxene, as such it will not be effective as Suboxene blocks any receptor from the effects of narcotics, namely opiates. I tend to believe the doctors. I once believed like every one else that "Tramadol" was not considered a narcotic but according to the health care professionals, it is indeed.

thank you alot. I have another appointment coming up and haven't taken any tramadol since then. Nor have I drank. I do sometimes wonder if certain things I am explosed to (say this aerosol spray that i use often to dry my nails) could mess things up. I usually tell the doctor everything anyways. Thanks for the info!!!

The wine won't, it's usually gone in 24 hours unless you are a heavy drinker and the Ultram/Tramadol is long gone and as mentioned below isn't a narcotic and normally isn't included on a drug test, they want to know if you are using Narcotics or illegal drugs, even if they were looking for it, if the prescription was yours, regardless of it's age all you'd have to do is show them that it belonged to you and therefore wasn't taken illegally

i took ultram three weeks ago (which was am old script). I have a drug test in two weeks for my pain management doctor. Will the tramadol show on my test? also, i had a glass of wine a few days ago, is there a chance that it will show up on the urine test?

Yes, that is correct, Tramadol isn't a straight narcotic and it isn't included on the standard drug tests.

Even if it were, opioids are usually only detectable for approximately 4 to 5 days, after last dosing.

It is, however, never advisable to use any medication, without your doctor's approval and supervision.

Are there any other questions or comments?
