I took 100 mg of Tramadol last Thursday and have to have a urine test at my pain doc next Thursday (2 weeks between dosage and test). I was wondering if anyone has been tested positive after that long?

techanically, tramadol is a narcatic now as of jan 2011.. however it does not show up on a drug test unless they process it thru the labs.. which ive never had it show up..

My docs say that Tramadol is NOT a narcotic, but shares some similar properties and, therefore, is often treated like a narcotic. I have to go through pain management drug tests because of a continued prescription, just like anyone who is prescribed an actual narcotic drug regularly because of it's being legally treated LIKE it is a narcotic. However, I am allergic to ALL narcotics, and have never had any remote issue with Tramadol because it IS NOT actually a narcotic. I've discussed this with over 20 docs in the last 5 years, all say the same thing. It is prescription only, it shares properties with narcotics, and is often legally treated as one. It should only be taken under doctor supervision, it is not Tylenol. But, it's not a narcotic either.

That is not so. Suboxone does have an opiate blocker, I think it's called naloxone or something. Anyway it's similar to anibuse they used to give drunks. It has a receptor blocker, and I know in my case it will cause severe withdraw if taken with certain drugs. I wouldn't take any opiate along with Suboxone. But u can take subutex, it's subs without blocker.

Taking a opiate with suboxone will not make you sick. Now it does block the high affect a person would normally feel. I know this because I done it when I first started suboxone. I've been clean from pain killers for 2 years now and I can honestly say that suboxone saved my life and tens of thousands of dollars....

Yes they test for tramadol now. I had taken it like 4 days before my drug test b.c I left my meds at home and I had a old script for tramadol in my car and I came up positive and my doc said something to me about it. He was cool and let me retest instead of dropping me. But yes they do test for tramadol also and I know the tests are super sensitive.

Yes it will show up no question. takes 5-7 days to leave ur system .however if you hace a script from a Dr then ur fine but if u don't then u wull fail. I don't understand why ppl take meds they don't have a script for and get all worked up when they have to get tested either by court or there pain dr.

I have a court ordered urine drug test tomorrow around 1130-noon and I take tramadol for migraines. I take 4 or 5 as much as every 6 hours and did yesterday. Wondering if they check or if synthetic opiates like that will show up. I've been flushing with mass amounts of water and took a diuretic just in case.

Omg people!!! Go to medical school and then you can answer questions and give advice.... Until then shut up! If you are in legitimate pain a health care professional will not mind treating you with something, otherwise don't take it if you have to be tested, plain and simple. Just go to the doctor and do it legally.

I'm in Aviation and get randomly drug tested for opioids,,cannabis, alcohol but not benzodiazepines. I take carisoprodol 350mg at night (not while flying) and occasionally a Tramadol while I'm off for 7 days. Please tell me if either of these would test positive (I would not take the Tramadol 5 days before flying).

t my pain dr im given percts 10/325 and oxycotin 30 mgs eventhough he persctibes those he runs drug tests on thosr plus methadone, any perscribed or illegal drug. He does test for the tramadol its not a narcotic, but as with any drug it can become habbit forming. If u take ur meds per the orders then ur body wont be looking for more. Whats funny to meis if u all see the pain dr y would u need to take tramadol thats not urs that just means that u guys need anly drug that u can get high which is dumb. Do u all really have a medical reason to see the pain dr hmmm just be careful an good luck

Suboxone certainly helped me. It kept me from getting high from a few relapses. It did not get me "high" either, since it was taken in correct doses (and if not, NOT a good "high"), and also because it was very very easy to taper down to 1 mg (ready to stop), although you can stop at 2mg. It is NOT a "replacement drug". The reason it "doesn't work are many (e.g. people trade them dope, get clean successfully but start a new drug, or overall, just want SOMETHING to be high. Me, I wanted off what I was on - badly. But a lot of the younger teens are forced into the program from their parents or to comply with a program - but you have to WANT to stop. But yes, it works!

You know the way I see it this is a public forum....people coming together to discuss a certain topic for whatever reason....so why bash someone because they come on here to find out info about whether or not they have made a HUGE mistake or not...we are all human and we all are fallible....so give 'em a break (us) a break...sometimes for whatever reason we do things without considering the consequences....
