How Long Does Hydrocodon 7.5 Stay In Your System?

I have a prescription for 7.5-750 and took 1 pill today at 1 PM. I will have a pre-employment screen within the next several days. How long will it stay in my system?

Hi lynn,

Hydrocodone can take anywhere from 1-6 days to be out of your system for a urine test, 1-10 days to be out of your system for a saliva test, and as long as 90 days to be your system for a hair test.

So for it to be "completely" out of your system (including your hair) it can take up to 90 days. But my theory is that after 10 days, only trace amounts might be there that are only detectable through a hair follicle test.

To answer your question, one generic Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen (7.5mg/200mg) will likely stay in your system for roughly 2-3 days after your last dose.

NOTE: the information posted in the comment below is more over for those concerned about drug testing, so actual estimated time frames are expected to vary to some degree.

The half life of Hydrocodone is 3.8 hours. So after about 4 hrs, 1/2 of the dose is still in your system and relieving pain - but perhaps not as strongly as within the first 4 hours.
