I have a friend who takes suboxone & recently got a subutex given to him. I take suboxone myself but ive never heard of subutex until couple days ago. I would like to know how is subutex supposed to be taken? Under your tongue or do u swallow it? I am worried about my friend & i have searched every site possible on information on subutex but none of these sites say how it is suppose to be taken. what are the side effects of subutex? why do doctors give pregnant women subutex & not suboxone during pregnancy? i need to know any & all information on subutex. i have hidden the pill from my friend until i can try 2 find some information on it & he has been sick but i dont want anything bad to happen to him.also is subutex a small white round pill with number 8 on one side & an arrow on the other & does it come in any other forms or colors etc.? I'm desperate for answers!!!!!

Subutex and saboxone are pretty much exactly the same apart from saboxone has neltraxon in it which is a blocker so you would take it and treat it the same way the reason they swap saboxone for subutex is because they have done more testing on pregnant people whilst on subutex and they are not sure about the saboxone on pregnant ladies as their has been very limited testing regarding the neltraxon that has been put in the saboxone but please give your friend their medication as they will be very ill threw withdrawing from the bupermorphine in it and subutex comes in loads of different shapes depending on the manufacturing company hope this helps :-)

Bulls***, you can't die, I've been though it plenty of times, which I'm not proud about. So just because you felt like you were dying, it was your withdrawal times ten, instead of a withdrawal, for ten times the amount of time. I'd rather go through it, hard, and be done. I went over a week without sleep, food, and little water from a oxy withdrawal, and I went through a precipitated withdrawal, three times, both sucked, but I'd take the fast, horrible one any day. It's fire your playing with, and I've now been clean for 4 years 4 months and 19 days. Subutex is my life saver.

It's subutex.... And I've been taking it over a year. And gone from 16mg daily down to 1.6mg daily and then back up to 4.
We don't get suboxone in the UK. Just subby - Or buprenorphine whichever you'd like to call it.

You hid your sick friends medication? F*** you. I hope they stop speaking to you. Just know what you are doing is literally torture. It isnt your place to do that. If you were going thru opiate wd you would know how horrible it'd be to find your medicine gone. You could cause them to return to drugs. Some friend you are.

Nichole, Suboxone is Buprenorphene & an Opiate blocker...Subutex is just the Opiate, Buprenorphene, which has a very long half life which means it stays in your system for a very long time & is definitely taken Under the Tongue...If you look under your tongue you'll see that there are many Blood vessels there & by placing the medication there it is much more quickly absorbed into your blood stream...If swallowed it must go thru your Digestive system where it takes much longer to get into your system...It is a VERY good replacement for narcotics...Opiates that is... It doesn't make you feel really high it just sorta' gets you well if you're withdrawing...Taking it "Sublingually is the most efficient way to take it...If it's prescribed to you it should say on the bottle to take it Sublingually...It's definitely better than trying to find Opiates to take...Good luck...It's also much easier to get off of than Opiates!

Clearly this person is talking about themselves. There is no friend. They just don't want to sound like a junkie by taking subutex. So she put it off on someone else. That's clear. All the questions ... And the detail that this person knows?? And she added that in that she "hid the pill" because she wants to sound like she trying to be a good friend. But if this was a real post why put that in there ? What was the purpose of us knowing that she hid the pill until she found out as much as she could ... Blah blah blah. Just own up to your own s***!! I'm a 22 year old addict in recovery and I've been taking heroin for 7 years. Among many other drugs. Any drug actually. But that's besides the point.. The point I'm going for here is to embrace who the f*** you are!! Why hide it?? Why pretend to be someone you are not... Trust me I'm well aware that a drug addict isn't really an ideal choice for a life career. But it happens to 70% of us. So get over it. Get the f*** over society and judgemental f***s running us into the ground. We are human beings with a damn disease. So live your life the way you want.. Don't hide your addiction from anyone. That's the most embarrassment a junkie could ever receive.. Is one of our own pretending to be someone their not. Pretending to not be a fiending junk box looking for the solution in life ... Get over yourself. And move on with life. We're all in the same game.. Just different levels. Dealing with the same hell just different devils.

They give pregnant women suburex instead of suboxone because of the opioid blocker in it. Subutex does not have the blocker. The blocker is what is harmful to pur liver and baby

I know I'm a little late but first off, who cares if this person is talking about themselves, they're probably still in denial, which is part of this disease.at least they're trying to get familiar with this Med. Second, stop judging because she's keeping this pill away from him. It clearly says that he was GIVEN the pill, no prescribed so he kinda has no right to have the pill. The difference between Suboxone and subutex is the naloxone. I was on Suboxone and just found out I am pregnant so I got switched to subutex because the naloxone is harmful to baby and I, plus when I have the baby, epidural wont work (which i wont have an epidural) im having a c-section so the med they give to numb and for pain wont work on me. Shame on all of u judging this person who is clearly just trying to get info to either help themselves or her friend whatever the case. If y'all are actually working a program, u would know that we do not judge our fellow addicts. If ur just taking subs and not working a program, Congrats for getting clean but ur not really sober. It takes more to be clean and sober then just taking a medication. One day at a time ladies and gentlemen. I hope y'all find ur peace.
