Subutex will make you incredibly incredibly ill if taken along with any opiate - agree yes the naltrexone is a major blocker however - there are also different uses for Bup - I was prescribed originally for post chemo/premature menopausal depression hell and it was the only thing that helped after trying a number of anti- depressants so I guess everyone is different - I did manage however to take my Subutex too soon after taking the Dilaudid and I became horrifically ill in the worst withdrawel ever so you know - it happens - just sayin' - certainly with respect of course.

I dont know what country your in but here in Australia I was paying $3 per dose, whether it be 2mgs or 32,for Suboxone,Then I changed chemists and pick up once per fortnight @ $20 a weeks supply,Thats $40 per Fortnight.I have told the clinic over and over that Ill never use again, and they believe me,thats why I can pick up 2 weeks supply @ a time,But I want to go back onto Subutex as with Suboxone I am now taking 2 drugs opposed to just Subutex,As I want to be FREE of this taking medication once and for all,

The naloxone is there to deter you from trying to take something else to feel high while on the subs...Buprenophine itself is what blocks the receptors in your brain...

It does - if you do not believe me try it -- I have been taking Subutex for 6 years. I have been taking Dilaudid for four. I take the Sub at 6 a.m - the dilaudid then at noon, six and then midnight. Back to sub at 6a. I have never gotten high from. Why I do not know however - Sub is 8mgs as is Dilaudid. Suboxone makes me terrifically ill so I stick with the subutex and have had no probs - work a full job - have no cravings - pain is gone and never ever do I feel high. Just sayin' - works for me and works for my doc.

Hi everyone, okay so I have about a few years of opiate use. I went to the doc last week and got put on subs 3 a day but I really don't need that I don't think, but anyway I woke up and I have parenting classes. I recently had a baby but dhr took her so I want to be clean more than ever. I just want my family back but about 15 min after taken the sub I went into severe withdraw so soon after I dosed just to feel normal. withdraw scares the hell out of me. now I'm laying in bed feeling terrible. my last opiate use was last night around 10 pm. it's now 4 pm. When can I take a sub? Also they make me feel sick like to my stomach. I can't eat so I wanna try subutex and the strips taste terrible. Would my doc switch me? I hate taking opiates. It does nothing for me. Please someone help.

Hello. i am allergic to sulfa as well, and i too have lupus. My doctor had me on soboxone, then switched me to subutex, and when I was on soboxone it was hell! I had terrible side affects and it kicked my lupus into full gear hell mode. The subutex didnt, well the docotr decided to quit giving me subutex again, refuses to put me on anything but soboxone, so I refused to take it and now no doctor will listen to me they all say NO SUBUTEX, and I really dont want to ruin my sobriety and ruin my life again and go back to doing drugs, but I dont think I can do this CLEAN LIFE, and with lupus its hard enough to get through each day and have energy and be free of pain. The subutex helped me so much. I was off drugs for over a year. I live in Indiana. Is there any help that you know of or anything I can do ar any place to go that will listen to me? Even the pharmacist states that the side effects I was having arent good, and that I shouldnt feel that way on soboxone, and thats its probably the sulfa in it or possibly just that my body cant handle the naxalone.

I don't know if Subutex would be right for me it not. My Dr will NOT prescribe Subutex though unless you are pregnant or an allergist proves you are allergic to Naloxone. I have only been taking Suboxone for a week now. I take 16 mg in the morning. I've still been having withdrawals in the evening (8-10 hrs after dosing) and all night long. My dr checked me out 2 days in a row before dosing and had be dose in front of him and see how I reacted. It brought me out if withdrawal but only lasts 8-10 hours approx. he upped my dose to 20 mg daily but my insurance will NOT cover more than 16 mg daily. My dr says I can appeal and he will go to bat for me and prove that I really do need a higher dose. I'm going to try to find a pharmacy today that will let insurance pay for 16 mg a day and I pay cash for the other 4 mg a day. I really need my medicine. I take 100 mg Seroquel, 4 mg tizanadene, 50 mg Diphenhydramine at night and still can't sleep. I do wish the Suboxone helped more with my chronic pain. I see folks recommending Methadone as an alternative if Suboxone doesn't work. The problem though, is that I live an hour away from the closest Methadone clinic and I can't afford driving there daily to dose. Also it is very expensive. It's difficult enough to pay cash for my office visits every 2 weeks for Suboxone. I Had to do something when I went to the Suboxone dr. My family dr stopped prescribing Oxycodone and say they are referring me to a pain management dr but they are SLOW! I bought Suboxone from the streets to come back from withdrawal (day 4) and thank The Lord Jesus Christ that I found a Suboxone dr so quickly (48 hrs after calling) and they continued Suboxone treatment, but legally. This did buy me some time to get Marijuana out of my body before seeing a pain management dr. My Suboxone dr didn't stress the Marijuana too much. Haven't had any in 3 weeks now!! I will be having 2 surgeries in the near future so I know opioids will be what I need for a while. Then I'll go back to my Suboxone dr unless I can find someone to try Methadone for pain management, which will hopefully have a dual purpose - pain management and less opiate cravings. I'm in Knoxville, Tn area. Any help or advice is encouraged. My wife say I need 30 mg Percocet daily max when I have surgery. She just doesn't understand chronic pain. I took 60 mg Oxycodone daily up until 2 weeks ago and it still wasn't enough to sir press my pain. I'm trusting The Lord and letting him decide. I have Tenncare and am out of work on workers compensation due to a lumbar spine injury at work. I hurt all the time!!! I get overwhelmed, anxious, scared, and nervous all the time. I hide (or rather try to hide) my emotions from my wife and our church family because I don't want to appear weak. Thanks for reading my ramblings. It's now 8:30 am and I didn't sleep lastnight. My wife is up now so I'm going to spend time with her. I wish everyone the best of comfort, hope, and help in your recovery.

Baker,

I'm certain others could benefit from what you have extra. Uncertain how you would manage that though?? What is your ACTUAL daily dose?

Anyone else on here live in the Knoxville, Tn area? Any help and support I can find will benefit me (and you) more. Other folks who struggle with similar battles as myself are able to better understand the difficulties we all face. I don't have much of a support group yet. My wife is my greatest help. However, she has never struggled with opioid dependance or any other drug addiction. I'm really blessed with a good Godly wife and a wonderful Church family.

I've been prescribed Suboxone for nearly 2 weeks now. Still yet after 8-10 hours it wears off and I'm stuck suffering withdrawals from the evening throughout the night, until my next daily dose (16 mg ). I don't sleep well at all. Every couple of nights the medicines I take at bedtime help me sleep. I know Valium would help knock me out, but my dr will NOT prescribe any Benzodiazapines. I do wonder if my withdrawal symptoms are due to the Naloxone in the Suboxone films??

Does anyone know of a Suboxone dr in or near my area (Knoxville, Tn) that will prescribe the medicine I need to help me sleep at night? Suboxone does also help alleviate my pain in my Lumbar spine (lower back, one or bother legs/feet, butt) and it doesn't relieve the pain in my Cervical spine (neck, right shoulder, elbow, and hand). Any suggestions on medication that I can take with (a few hours after dose) Suboxone to ease my pain?

It doesn't seem like very many people respond. I've found this site to be very helpful in answering my questions and encouraging me to press on towards recovery. I recently found out that my insurance won't even cover Methadone for opioid dependence even if I found a clinic I could afford. They will pay for Methadone if I'm prescribed it for pain. How expensive is it?? Thanks to everyone that is reading this. All responses are welcomed and encouraged.

Hi. I know a Dr who will prescribe u the suboxone and Klonopins for nerves. Methadone ranges from 77-90 bucks a week depending on what u take, liquid which is cheaper or wafers which are called disk are higher. I was on Methadone for many years and you do NOT want to go to Methadone. The withdrawal is 100x worse than suboxone..

Chris,

Mmj? Uncertain what that is. If you mean Mary J then I can't smoke right now because I'm about to go into pain mgt. I'm coming off the subs. I dose about a half every 1 to 2 days now. I'm glad that progress is happening now towards pain management with workers comp. They are terribly slow about doing anything! I have a total of 6 herniated discs in my back. Three in Cervical and 3 in Lumbar. I'm constantly in pain. All if these new regulations about pain medicine is quite aggravating. I stay at a pain level around 9 with no relief EVER! I'm now lying on a heating pad at the Physical Therapy office.

Cherie,
this may help you out a lot!!! some one I know did this in order to keep their white ones, she works at a place were she haves to use
a really powerful oven cleaner, put it on your skin and let it break you out..
tell your doctor it started making you sick and headaches started really bad and your skin started breaking out after all this time of being in your system.. tell them that you fear you will just turn back to the hard stuff if you can't take something you are clearly allergic too. hope this helps.. she went through hell and back to keep the meds she feels comfy with.

Suboxone Always gives me migraines, so my dr switched me to subutex and it works perfectly! No headaches, No nausea... I still Stay constipated but as long as I take senecot every day, that helps me go, not every day, but about every 3 days... I am going to see a Gastrointerologist and maybe they will be able to prescibe a medication that I have seen advertised for patients that take opiod or opiod like drugs for chronic constipation...
