How To Take Suboxone At Home (Page 2)

I have ten suboxones. I have been taking oxycontin for pain but want to try at home to w/d. I can't discuss this with my doctor as it will affect my insurance. This is a fact..in my case... Can someone on here tell me how to take my subs? I would appreciate any answers and no lectures. How many do I need to withdraw..Thanks so much.

so i need some help. me and my husband have gotten addicted to pain pills in the last 1 1/2 yrs or so..it started with a friend that was prescibed opanas for herniated disks in his back and we decided to try them..our pill of choice is now blues (30mg oxy) or equivilent..for me i normally do about 2 pills a days just to be me and my husband around 4/5..on a good day when we have them obvioulsy we do more...its a problem now, i don't want to depend on these things, we are always broke bc we have to buy then off of the street, and most of the time we don't even have them and feel like crap. we do however have about 10 subs that we used in between not having blues. i have to say that they are great. make you feel great and no cravings. i want to be done with blues tho and i took about 2 weeks off of work between xmas and new years. i did read some places that i can use the sub to detox for a few days and taper within those days. the longest ive gone without a blue would have to be about 18 hrs then i always have to do something so cold turkey is not going to work. im not strong enough to do it. is it possible that i can use the subs to detox for a few days then just be done? when i do the subs between blues i can only use about 1-2mg or i get sick (dizzy, puke, etc). so im wondering if i can do 2mg 2xs a days for two days 1mg 2xs a day for 2 days and so on until its nothing. any info would help me big time i want to be done with these things by the new year and i want my life back! please help

I just stopped taking 4 Roxicet 30mg per day. I wanted to say how helpful reading all your stories was. I was very skeptical about the Suboxone. But This is week 2 and it works. I treally worked. I was told to wait 12-24 hours, and I tried so hard to make it to 14...at hour 14 I was shaking in fear that I wouldn't be able to do it, but I took a film 8/2mg and cut it in half...and put 1/2 under each side. IT WORKED> i was so proud and so happy. I bought these from the same person I get my roxi's from (ironic I know) but it worked and I have a whole host of issues that could have de-railed this. (Bi-Polar, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia...) PLEASE!! accept my THANK YOU!! reading this got me to this point and I will update after I stop the Sub's...I am only taking 1/2 a film every other day now..so much easier than stopping the roxi...although I keep tensing up waiting for the sub to wear off so far it has not...my pain is ok too.

I have to say one thing I haven't heard anyone admit....SUBOXONE tastes awwwwwwfulllllll! Pill form, or film form----YUCK! lol Okay, I just had to get that out. Anyway....suboxone is a miracle drug and even though it tastes terrible, it is definitely worth it. I took my first 8mg tablet and I couldn't believe how fast it worked. I felt great, and didn't even think about trying to find some norco, which is what I would've spent my whole morning doing had it not been for the sub. Okay, I added my 2 cents----I hope and pray you all are doing well, and remember this: we are all addicts, its not something we enjoy being, its not something we want to proudly share....but we are human and make mistakes. So for those of you that do relapse occasionally, don't beat yourselves up about it----tomorrow is another day to start over. God bless all of you and take care---- Spice06

I havent read anyone trying to detox off of herion on this forum as am I? I got a prescription and I ve just been nervous about taking the leap over to subs,I know their the miracle pills but my main two concerns are 1) Doctors tell you wait 24 hours or wait till in withdraw before you Take your first pill or you may go into full blown hell withdraw if you take it earlier and Ive seen it happen to myself and other friends who waited and still people got sick. waiting 14 , 18 , 24 hrs. and my 2nd concern is there are alot of doctors that recommend you take them like a maintence drug for a bout a year , that if you try to come off from whatever your choice of drug was to trying to just detoxing at home real quick like a 5 to 7 day period that chance of relapse is very likely. everyone wants to be done with everything, but the truth is ask yourself if you been getting high for 5 years using opiates whats a year on suboxone, its more subtle and a better chance of recovery, I agree with the theory but I dont want to be on subs either. Id rather try to detox from dope to subs in say a 5-7 daty period then done. esentially if I do it the other route for a year i'll just be hooked on subs then i'll have to wean off them. I want to just man up and be done with this crap. Any advice? I'll need it. Opiates ruined my life. its either this or I may as well as end it , this is no way to live

For those who want to listen, about 11 months ago I detoxed off of 30mg-60mg. doses, a day, of percocet using suboxone. I used subs for 12 days, first day dosing with 4mg. and slowly tapering down for the next 12 days, on the 12th. day I woke up with no pain w/d's and felt great so i left the subs alone. Lone and behold though I went through a rough patch in my life about 2 months after being clean and began using again, more than ever before. So here I sit, day one of subs and I must say they are a miracle, all the w/d's are gone and I only plan on using them for 12 days because the percocet's only stay in your system I believe for 7-8 days, by doing 12 days it allows me a bit of a buffer zone. Everyone give me your opinions, please I know how bad it sucks to be wasting all your money and resources just keep yourself normal everyday

I have been addicted to opiates for a very long time, probably about 2 years now. i have a bunch of suboxone and am just wondering about the 12 hour thing... do u really have to wait 12 hours after your last opiate use if u dont does it make withdrawls worse>? thanks

I have been addicted to pain killers for about 4 years total and 30 mg percs (aka blues) for about a year now. taking them very heavily the past 5 months. I was at 300 mg a day just to feel like living. I thought the 24 hours wait would be harder than it was. granted all the other times I tried I couldnt do it. this morning was my first day on subs. they do work, I still feel s***ty and want the opiate high, but the subs do take away the sweats and the pain. I only have 6, I just pray that its enough. But I am ready to be off opiates for the rest of my life, so if the 6 dont do it, i will go to my doctor for I dont care if I am flagged and never allowed to touch them again, its for the best. Everyone should be proud of themselves for doing it on their own, yes its the hardest thing you will ever do but in the end, youll have money and your life back...I have an amazing husband who I confessed my addiction to in Novemeber, I wanted to quit and he thinks I did, but it was just too hard, I have felt like total scum since (lying, taking money from our savings, etc.) so not only am i doing this for me, but for him, because not everybody is as lucky as me to have a husband like him...

when taking subboxone IF is an N8 otherside a cross then some people do hald i take a full N8 Subboxone goes under your tongue the goal is to not move smoke or dreank for an hr you cannot drink alchol with this edicane you cannot take ANY OPOIDS AT ATLL YOU WILL DIE BUT if lookin for an extra BUMP get some bars or KP= klonipin :) 1st thing it says on warings do not take bennys :) but keep the box=subbosone under your tongueand dont move tongue dont talk for 1 hr is the goal longer u wait better the high ENJOY !! FYI, it is very hard to read the last post w/ the misspells and all.

I don't get where this thread is going - it started about taking our lives back from the control of opiates and about using suboxone to do that, and now people are giving out recipes on how to get a good high while others are offering to buy people's oxys?? YOU'RE ON THE WRONG SITE. Go somewhere else w/ that useless info.

Anyway, to answer a previous question about how long to wait before taking your 1st subox, my dr. never told me I had to wait for 12-24 hours or whatever. In fact, I was just barely feeling any kind of w/drawal when I took my 1st one, which was only about 8 hrs later. And while I commend people who are trying to get off opiates w/ 10 or 15 subs, I would like to say that it really is better all around to go to a clinic and have them prescribed to you. Then you can have your dose regulated for you specifically and have a dr. monitoring your progress for the best possible outcome. I was on subs for about 3 months after a 5-6 yr addiction, and for me, that was enough time. The main problem w/ having a short and quick w/drawal and recovery (i.e. a couple of weeks or less) is that your chances of relapse are HUGE. So for those who still want to do it that way, get yourself a good support system and make some life-changing plans to keep you on track b/c you have to take the psychological w/drawal into consideration - and many people don't. That's why many dr.s reccommend a year or two for being on subox - b/c when the subs are in your system, you could go back to your drug (opiate) of choice but you wouldn't be able to get high off it no matter how hard you tried. Without the subs, well, you know how it goes. I would've stayed on them a little longer, but for some reason the subs left me exhausted all the time. But the moral of this story is to suck it up and go see a dr.! No one will find out you're on subox, even your other dr.s - it's all confidential! Give yourself the best chance possible. And for those on here who are trying to use subox to get some kind of better high, I feel sorry for you, but seriously - find a different forum.

I was addicted to Oxy,, myself taken 5-6 80mg a day...Here is my story,, My husband left me and I was about to loss my 3kids and I despertly wanted to change my life cause I knew if I didnt I was going to end up in prison or DIE..I started taken Suboxone 3-8mg a day,,That was a year ago...Now i take 10mg a day and I HAVE MY LIFE BACK (not my husband :(..) My kids have more now then i could ever give them before, I'm in school becoming a Surgical Tech. and I'm happy, my kids are happy... Suboxone dose work and you cant just assume that in a week u will be off the suboxone cause it dosnt work that way, you didnt become an addicite in a week and u cant get clean in a week but I do promise u this,, If u are truly wanting to get ur life back and u really really want sobrity then suboxone can help u make that a reality...I have been on it for a year and slowly coming off the suboxone,I have heard of people having w/d from it but I have went 4days without it and didnt have any but not eveyone is the same...Facts about suboxone,, YOU HAVE TO WAIT AT LEAST 24HOURS AFTER UR LAST PILL TO TAKE UR FIRST SUBOXONE,, OR YOU WILL GO INTO GOD AWFUL W/D..I know it happen to me,,it was worse then w/d off Oxy...A little dose go along way,,the less u start off with the faster you will get of Suboxone...It makes u hungry,, very very hungry...So ladys bewear u may gain a lil weight. And last but not least...GOOD LUCK,, I know the strugles u are about to go through but It will get easier.
And another lil fact for those that have to take some time off work to start this,, dont excpect to be off anything in a week,,but just have comfort in knowing that in a week whn u go back to work u will feel like a new person on the Suboxone,, Good luck to all,, U are in my prays...WV

I have been. Taking sub for ten yrs on and off if you got 5 wait til in a little withdrawal then place 1 under tounge for two days then break n half then in quarter. And u be fine

I have been on pain meds for many years...morphine hydroco, tramadol and soma all at once. A few years ago, I went for inpatient detox because I wanted to see what my baseline of pain was at the time. Suboxone was used at that time. My pain increased greatly and I resumed taking the meds. Now I wish to get off all meds again and hopefully for good and all. I have the left over Suboxone from the inpatient detox and plan to use it at home folowing the same directions as prescribed by my MD in the hospital. My concern is that these sublingual pills are about three or four years old. Any advice as to whether they may no longer be potent or may be harmful. Any comments or oinions will be grestly appreciated.

I'm new to this thread. Just have a couple questions.. hoping somone out there can help out. Sounds like we're all in the same boat!

Ive struggled with my addiction to oxycontin/oxycodone for almost 3 yrs, on and off. This last time, I had been on them for about 4 months straight. I was able to acquire 4 8mg suboxone tablets.

Today is my 4th day on the subs. First day i took 4mg in the morn & 4mg at night. Second & third day, i took the same doses at the same time. Today, day 4, i only took a quarter this morning. If needed, i had planned to take a quarter tonight also. Which would leave me 2 quarters for tomorrow, day 5.

My question for everyone is, after taking my last 2 quarters of sub tomorrow, will i be "normal" the day after that (day 6)?

I was trying to use sub only for detox.. which we all know is about 5-7 hard days. I hope the method I chose will be successful. If anyone has any input, i'd love to hear it.

i am in agreement with jack , the only thing is that oxys werent part of the picture mit was black tar h.. and for over ten years of chasing the dragon , four days on subs under the tounge benadryl to sleep or ambien , and prayer help me lord he did , so fress and so cleean that was a while back i joy chase once in a blue moon but never more than 3 days in a row, b/c 3 days on her**n and you are right back to the old days , good luck, god bless you and be strong .think of how you dont want to be a slave and all the money you can save or utilize in a way better way. ive lost a lot due to my addiction i pray you stop before it gets worse..

I've been a heroin/opiate addict for 23 years now. I'm 44, and I did my first bag of dope when I was about 20, and other than detoxes or rehabs or methadone maintenance for a few years, it was dope every day of my life since 20. THERE'S A LOT OF POOR ADVICE AND REPLIES. There are so, so many half truths or what may work for one may be totally wrong for another. Suboxone can be a wonder drug if it's used correctly. Also, from the countless detoxes, rehabs, clinics I been in, it works much much better with a short term opiate like dope or morphine or dilaudid. Not as well as with time released or long half life opiates, like Methadone. That doesn't say it won't work, it's just been my personal exp. Suboxone for the VAST majority of ppl is hugely better than Methadone. And a lot of ppl on here want to try to give you some generic number of hours after you've "used" to take suboxone. It has nothing to do with a number. It has to do with you not being high anymore, and have your w/d just at the point of starting. It also has to do with how much you're using. For some, such as myself, I've used it as close as 10 hours after my last use of H. For some ppl that may be too soon, and others may be in w/d before 10 hours based on the qauality and type of you're last use and what you've been using on a daily basis in general. Getting off Sub though, after you take it for a while, can be a bitch. Just like MMT, you got to take the LEAST you have to to feel "normal", get structure back in your life and get used to not having to run to cop or hustle up money every 5 minutes. Start to learn how to spend time doing things. AGAIN, i can't stress this enough, that may be 5 days for one person and 5 years for another. Everybody thinks it's going to be different for them, so be prepared to take an honest hard look at your life and what has to change. THEN, stop subs. When you get to a pill a day, start taking half. After a few days, at least 4 or 5. Then take half of that. The tricky part is that if you stop subs, for 2 or 3 days you can feel fine, but because of the long half life, if you take subs for any period of time more than a few days, you will go thru sub withdrawals which WILL lead you back to dope. So, do it SLOWLY, take how much you need, and ONLY as much as you NEED. When you start feeling better, which happens real quickly when we stop using opiates other than sub, don't get complacent, work at getting your life as close to normal as possible,, then start a sub taper schedule.

The subs do and will work. Wait untill you are feeling w/d sumptoms. Then star with a whole n/8 sub under your tongue as late before bed as possible. You will be able to sleep, and also wake up feeling good. Then take another whole one about lunch time. The next day take another whole one under your tongue. The rest of the week, you only need a half a day till gone. After that you drug free. Subs dont cause any with draw, unless your takein them for months. Now stayclean and go to N/A, get a sponser and support group!!! Good Luck!! I did it and im 42 an stayed clean for 10yrs. Anyone can do it!!!!
